Smallville was a good show in the grand scheme of things and the last 4 seasons were geared to the comic nerds just as much as the new dc shows. Having tom back but as superman would be huge and it would be a really neat way to play with the multiverse. If they insist on incorporating superman into television while also having separate movies welling is the best option.

I know "lol multiverse" but it'd be weird having two Oliver Queens running around played by entirely different actors. Not to mention different Kara Zor-Els.
I honestly hope they don't crossover with Smallville. The current DC TV Universe stands well enough on its own where it doesn't need Smallville as a crutch. If anything, I think it'd hurt the shows.
And while Smallville was good at first, it stuck around way too long. I got tired of it.

But will Tom Welling - who fought it on SMALLVILLE for the entirety of the show - still refuse to wear the Superman suit?

Could they? possibly
Will they? No. I don't think they will.

I really don't think they should. Smallville, while it had a loyal fanbase, was a very different fanbase. Arrow and especially The Flash are geared much more towards that male comic book/sci-fi fan demographic, and treat the material with a good dose of respect. Smallville was pretty far removed from the DC and Superman mythos and really crapped all over a lot of it. Yeah, multiverse and all that, but it'd just give bad vibes to put Smallville stink on The Flash. There were the occasional love letters to DC lore from Geoff Jones, and the only time I had an issue with what SV did was when they made Doomsday of all people some emo fire fighter

They were never going to use a full fleged Darkseid in the first place so , but I loved their Granny Goodness though and the furies.
Senior citizen Deathstroke makes me laugh so I will never defend that but it is pretty funny.
The Davis Bloom-Doomsday was fantastic storytelling and IMO was great way to keep Clark and DoomsDay apart but still build the tension it is a huge reason the first half of season 8 is regarded so highly amongst most.

Smallville was a fun show that lasted about four years too long.
That said, it would be fun to see those characters again; and be fun to see Hartley face to face with a better Green Arrow and how they'd interact.
And if Smallville did one thing right, it's to date given us the best live action Lex.
