ambrose/rollins is probably the closest. Too long of a break from each other and no climatic conclusion, although I see that coming next year.

Owens/Zayn's feud has gone through two different wrestling promotions

Owens/Zayn's feud has gone through two different wrestling promotions Destroyed by injuries before gaining any buzz worthy traction.

They were kept away for half a year other than filler tags with Ambrose as a clear minor character. During that break, they made no references to each other to keep the arc going. This is a separate feud from last year.

Meltzer is on-point. There's no reason why they can't still exist (and they still do somewhat albeit they are much more rare) but the week to week booking that WWE does kinda makes it impossible to do well. Doing a blood feud right requires patience, patience that the creative team (well, really Vince more than anybody) doesn't have. Their direction changes focus so often that it's damn near impossible to build towards a satisfying climax. How fast the product moves is another issue, especially now that there is no brand split and guys are going show to show.
The biggest star in the company, John Cena, being notorious for not really caring all that much when he loses a title (but getting disproportionally angry when somebody uses their MITB title shot) certainly doesn't help either.
It's not like we'll never see another "blood" feud where guys just bring the hate every single time they are in the ring together but they've kinda gone out of style in WWE.

It's sort of an offshoot of Lesnar vs Humanity

They seem to have forgotten how to find reasons for guys to fight. It's why the show feels so boring. For as much as we make fun of Jericho vs Kane over spilling coffee or Booker T vs Edge over a hair endorsement, at least it was SOMETHING.
This is wrestling. Everyone should have a reason to fight; no matter how petty: -You can't wear green - that's my color! Loser of this match has to wear the color their opponent decides - You used my move in a match! I'm gonna kick your ass - We were randomly teamed together in a match and you lost! Right when I was short on cash! I'm gonna make you pay! - You know what? I flew in all the way from Germany for Raw and just wanted a chicken breast at catering. You got the last one and then lied about cutting in line. Biggest mistake of your life!
All of the above are better than "Grrrrrrrr...let's fight" *staredown, look at crowd*

Their main goal in life is to stand tall, after making a statement. Also, none of those reasons involve The Authority at all, that would make Steph look weak.

The brand split definitely helped with establishing long running rivalries and keeping them fresh to an extent. By being able to move wrestlers to different shows allowed them when a feud did come back together on the same show to reignite interest.

Ambrose/Rollins last year was the closest we've gotten to a real legit blood feud but the booking f***ed that up. I get a feeling that whenever Ambrose feuds with Reigns, that'll be another real blood feud.
