I must be the only guy here that likes Blake and Murphy. I love Murphy. I think he's got all kinds of potential.

Joseph The Funky Samoan is here!!! George Clinton had the funk, but then Samoa Joe put him in a rare naked choke and took it from him. Then they had to close the restaurant! Any way we can have a Samoa Joe/Bayley vs Tyler Breeze/Sasha Banks mixed tag match? Just to see the Full Sail faithful lose their shit with all of "Joe's gonna kill you", "Bayley's gonna hug you", "Sasha's/Tyler's ratchet!"/"No (s)he isn't!" and "Tyler's gorgeous"/"no he isn't!" chants.

Really loved the opening. From Kevin using Sami's music and corner pose to Regal admitting he overstepped his boundaries by grabbing Kevin to Crowe talking himself into a title shot. Great stuff.
Not sure about Emma's new music. Do like that they changed Miss Touch Herself's look.
#BAM with Alexa just works. Great pairing. Love the running brain buster into the frog splash combo. Alexa with a great heel promo as well.
Like Dillinger's new look and hope we see the Perfect 10 on TV. Finn is Finn.
Shoot Nation tease was interesting. Excited to see how that builds.
Owens/Crowe was a lot of fun and easily Crowe's best showing. Hope they figure out something for the Techno Caveman soon. Slight tweak Joe's music was alright. I like that they gave him the intense opening but laid back for the rest of it. Really fits Joe, IMO.

Here are some of my thoughts on this week's show:
Owens gave a great heel promo to start the show. He's in the top-tier of the entire company (NXT and WWE) in just about all aspects and I could easily see him being a perennial WWE main eventer.
I was happy to see Emma win a match. There hasn't been a lot of indication that she was much of a priority lately, so I was happy to see her get a clean win.
Alexa Bliss really adds to the Blake and Murphy act. I thought the original Alexa Bliss character had potential, but it might be a bit limiting.
I'm glad Soloman Crowe was used. He had been on the back-burner a bit for the past couple of months.
Looking forward to seeing more of Samoa Joe. I'm not at all looking forward to more Rhyno/Corbin.

Right now, I'm loving Kevin Owens. And I was a mega critic of his. Having never seen one Indy match of his.
Joe vs Owens will be insane. You can bet joe will bring his A game for WWE/NXT.
I've been a mega NXT fan since the network started. And was a big fan back in the McGuillicufty / Kidd days too. And damn has this brand taken off like nothing since 90s ECW

The more I see Alexa bliss the more I fall in love with her. I think she's going to be a huge star in a year or two

Something I notice about the less experienced NXT wrestlers, they don't have any mid-range game. Basketball term, but it applies. They can wrench the shit out of a chin-lock, they can play to the crowd a little bit, they can do some big moves. But the stuff in-between, the meat of the match, the stuff that someone like Bret Hart was amazing at, they struggle heavily.
It's really not just the Performance Center products, Finn Balor has some trouble too. I think he's having an issue adjusting to the WWE style, everything he does is so choreographed and lined up just so. The style as a whole is still too rigid. Some guys, like Neville, Zayn, and Owens, can transcend it.

The big Indy names are able to transcend it simply because they've taken the things they've learned on other promotions and adapted them to the WWE Style. The guys starting from zero really have little chance at becoming any good as long as the WWE style is in place; The only way the "homegrown" guys can overcome it is if they're some freakish pro wrestling prodigy, or an office favorite who is going to get so many chances to get over no matter how subpar he is, that he'll eventually become decent over time after years of forced pushes/character retoolings. Balor is good enough that he'll eventually adjust. What disappoints me about Balor is that they've hyped his character up to be a huge deal, yet have invested so little into him beyond a "cool" entrance.

It is an uphill climb, but I think guys can get good enough in the system. A lot of it comes from the wrestler crafting an in-ring identity for themselves, and having the room to develop it. For example, Jason Jordan's Shoot Nation deal is intriguing. And people like Wyatt and Ziggler have developed complete wrestling games solely through WWE/devleopmental. I'm not saying that everyone who doesn't succeed isn't trying hard enough or doesn't have enough talent. They have to try hard, have talent, and have someone in the office who believes in them and gives them a chance. Some of it is out of their hands.

It's cool that they've booked Owens, the NXT Champion, to be chased by everyone in the roster. This is how it's done, where everyone is coming for the champ to take the title. The title means something and the champion looks strong. Whoever is booking NXT is doing it right.

I wasn't sure how Alexa was gonna work as a heel but she is a natural at whatever they want her to do.
Hated face Emma but she works for me much better as a heel.

The title means something and the champion looks strong. Whoever is booking NXT is doing it right. It also helps that NOBODY is booked as "Haha, what a joke! They'll NEVER sniff a second of offense, never mind a title shot!" Even Tye Dillinger, jobber du jour now that CJ Parker is gone, is sold as someone who could be in the conversation if he starts winning. There's no "Oh, it's Tye Dillinger. His opponent's credibility is RUINED if he manages to lay hands on them!" like it would be if he was on the main roster.

I do agree Tye Dillinger has looked better as the main jobber than CJ Parker ever did in this role. But I kinda disagree about the credibility stuff. If he DOES end up winning a match at any point people will complain that their favorite wrestler "lost to Tye Dillinger" or if they hate the wrestler in question they'll point and laugh at how "X sucks so bad that he lost to Tye Dillinger". There's no avoiding that until he gets a proper character revamp and The Bookers make the effort for fans to care about him. He got in a good amount of offense but he was still made to look like a warm body for Finn to roll over. He needs to have longer matches with the top talents (guys who are good/pushed enough that they won't be hurt) before that stigma goes away.
