So we're all agreed that NXT is awesome. Good.
So what would cause it to turn to shit? What one person, change, addition, whatever could suddenly ruin it all for you?
Go.

Cena, Reigns, Orton, Kane and Big Show all have matches on the show with NXT talent and go over
either that or new NXT champion Hornswoggle

Not saying it won't be bad, but when the "NXT 6" go up to the main roster it wont be as good.

It is immune to certain problems of the main roster by design. Stagnation will mainly be avoided because the ultimate goal is to move people to the main roster, so they aren't meant to be there long enough to outstay their welcome. Bad celebrity guests are not particularly likely.
Convoluted storylines aren't a problem because they try to keep angles pretty simple and to the point, by bookers and trainers who are dwarfed by the number of people trying to throw Raw and Smackdown together, often at short notice, and sometimes not with the best interest of the wrestlers, or with a lack of familiarity with them or their strengths and weaknesses.
NXT's behind-the-scenes, on the other hand, are filled with people grooming the talent and who are familiarized with their skillsets, wanting to develop it and work it into a foundation.
The most damaging thing that could happen to NXT would be if it stopped existing, or stopped having new people put in. Most other problems are ones tied into larger rosters, money involved, and cooks slaving over the broth.

Yeah, if Vince ever decides he wants to take a more "active" role in NXT, that'll probably do it. The big reason why I watch NXT is because it's an alternative. I'm not gonna see the same shit that I see on the main roster shows. As soon as that aspect of it goes away, I'm done.

I hate being one of "those" IWC fans who'll claim he killed the Lindbergh baby- but:
If the payoff of the current angle involves "John Cena wins the NXT Championship from Kevin Owens"- that might be what it takes to do it. The mixture of the "same old shit" factor plus the "proof positive Vince is paying attention to NXT" would make it the ONE thing to do it. -

I think it was on the last conference call thread that I read HHH wants NXT to eventually be two hours long which would probably wreck the show (unless they acquire enough TV ready talent to double the roster size).
Other than that I can see them try to recapture the magic of Bo's title reign with somebody like Mojo and it going very wrong.

John Cena's building stars!

Your new NXT GM: Stephanie McMahon! ...BRAH. My mind could not conceive of such horror. When I was reading this thread title, I was thinking, "well, there's no ONE thing that would make me totally drop a show." I was wrong. This would do it. At least the weekly shows.
