Pretty sure you're allowed to smoke inside as part of a public performance, at least in the States.
It was crazy how that segment went from facepalm trainwreck to one of the most memorable segments ever.

I'm kinda shocked that the whole smoking thing didn't cause a bit of a storm, cause techically Truth, the WWE and the O2 should have been fined for that. Under UK law, a character in a performance is permitted to smoke. Some pubs were trying to get round the smoking ban by declaring that they were taking part in a 24-hour improv play. Don't know if they were successful though.

I remember everything about Truths glorious amazing insane heel run. I try not to remember WWE ruining it like that ruin anything that's fun.

One of the greatest heel runs in modern times. You guys heard the rumors about him and Miz being blamed for the low buyrates with their tag match against Cena and Rock, right?

I was there and was working at o2 that night and the next day in a briefing they mentioned he did get fined apparently. I don't think they were expecting that.

I was there that night, his beat down of John Morrison seemed to go on forever

Yea, technically, but the tiny amount of second hand smoke off of those few puffs is nothing compared to all the smoke from pyro and stuff. How is this handled if a character smokes during a play? Edit: never mind, it's been discussed already.

It was one of the greatest emotional rollercoasters I have ever seen in wrestling. As Magic stated above me earlier he was a glorified jobber who beat 2 people in a gauntlet match for a #1 contendership match against Cena and The Miz in a genuine feel good surprise moment. Then we open Raw with the longest most awkward cringeworthy promo between him and John Morrison in which Morrision looks like a genuine dick and takes his #1 contendership forcing everyone to groan because R-Truth was way more fresher and then Morrison. Then plucky happy go lucky babyface gives John Morrison the most brutal uncomfortably and long beatdown that drags out before he starts smoking.
Like Holy f*** I went from marking out, to cringing, to cringing even more when Morrison won, to slightly marking out with the beatdown, to REALLY f***ING MARKING OUT when he started smoking. Crazy R-Truth was one of the greatest wrestling characters ever that canned way too soon. I'm surprised it's been already 4 years since R-Truth turned heel .

I enjoyed him in TNA with his run and thought eventually his run as heel would be good in WWE. Better than good, it was great. He bout into it fully and made it his own. I wish they would of kept the silent entrance for him throughout his entire heel run. I wouldn't be against another run like that for him but sadly he would be turned into a joke after a month or so.

It was a turn you saw coming a mile away but still loved it when it happened. I groaned at the bullshit of "oh we're friends", "c'mon", "please, one more match". You took advantage of your friend and then got what you deserved. His promo the next week was good and to the point setting up a good path for him that lasted longer then I honestly thought it would go.

Still not as good as Confederate Truth. Very few things are. Confederate Truth was in the ring with Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin and no one gave a shit about those two because of what R-Truth was doing. Take a second to think about how staggeringly amazing/crazy something had to have been for that to happen.

I love heel R-Truth but his heeldom was too popular and they ended up turning him face (like The Rock before him). His "don't 'WHAT?!' me!!" and the "Don't boo me! Ya'll should be booing yourselves!" lines were too charismatic for Heel Truth's own good (bad).

Morrison was mortally offended because Truth also had to have a drink of water. This period was so weird. Morrison main events a PPV, gets injured, is out for months, finally comes back to do a whole lot of nothing and is promptly released. 2011 was strange.
