Fell asleep during the show. I'm upset that Rollins vs Lesnar became an angle and less of a match judging by reports. They couldn't even let these guys go and have a MOTY candidate that they were capable of before Taker came out :-(

3. I think my greatest concern overall is that the quality of wrestling is so solid, that I'm becoming numb to it. I'm realizing that it actually boring me. Hey! This match is 20 minutes long. And there were 24 finishers used. And 75 kickouts at 2 and 3 quarters! This playbook works in moderation. Not in four or five matches a show. None of this is awesome anymore. It's losing its luster.

Seth has looked like an absolute scrub his entire reign and last night made it 10x worse.

So is Taker helping the Authority? If anything, Taker stopped Rollins from proving himself to Triple H that he can beat Brock Lesnar. So typical heel Rollins is happy as hell Taker got involved while Triple H is in a corner mean mugging the whole thing. Remember the diamond in the ruff speech Haitch gave to Rollins?

I expected a backlash against Cena winning but I am really surprised at the level of hate this ppv is getting.
Orton vs Sheamus - solid enough match even if it seemed odd to have Orton win.
New Day vs PTP - good match, personally would rather New Day had won but no complaints.
Roman Reigns vs Bray Wyatt - really enjoyed this, and was happy to see Bray go over and the family reunite.
Charlotte vs Brie vs Sasha Banks - first main roster divas match I have been interested in for a long time and only error here was having Brie involved instead of Becky Lynch. Didn't spoil a good match though.
John Cena vs Kevin Owens - this match was outstanding. Like the majority on this board I wanted Owens to win, but I think some of the hyperbole around how much defeat hurts Owens has been incredible. As a WWE rookie he beat Cena clean once and took him to the limit twice in defeat. No one gets to do that. Should have won the belt tonight but his time will still come.
Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins - I didn't read the spoilers so Taker coming out was a shock that I enjoyed. I wanted Brock to win, but am intrigued that we are finally going to get some kind of response from Taker for the streak ending. I have never seen a "surprise" Taker return garner such a negative response from these boards.
I enjoyed the ppv, and am interested where they go next, but I seem to be in the minority round these parts. My enjoyment of a ppv is not solely predicated on who won or lost, but I do wonder if Owens had of won if the reaction to this ppv as a whole would have been much more favourable here.

The PPV on whole sucked monkey balls.
- Orton vs Sheamus was nothing different from the crap they do on Raw. - New Day vs PTP was alright. Xavier is absolutely INSUFFERABLE though. - Reigns vs Wyatt was a plodding bore. - Divas were alright but Brie sucks. I think the match was a bit overbooked and Brie's lack of talent was almost overwhelmingly obvious at times. - Cena vs Owens was outstanding aside from the finish. I am not a Cena fan in any respect, but that son of a bitch keeps having great matches with almost anyone he's in there with. As long as Owens regains some heat immediately and if its continuing goes over at Summerslam, no one will care about this loss. - Lesnar vs Rollins was expected in regards to the "work". I liked that Rollins was actually using psychology in the match and was attempting to have a strategy to fell "The Beast" and then Taker returns in a completely ridiculous way in a clear Vince McMahon attempt to up the damn subscriber # for Summerslam. It was pandering at its worst and kayfabe wise, it's one of the weirdest storyline decisions in recent memory. It felt kneejerk and Id not be surprised to hear the decision to bring Taker back was made only recently.

I quite liked Battleground. There did'nt seem to be any filler. Every match felt important and I loved that a lot of time was given to the Divas triple threat, even if the worst element was Brie. Owens, nay, anyone tapping out to Cena, in 2015 is not on. I'm more a fan of tapping the mat with more energy than nimbly doing it, it made Owens look like a jabroni. Decent match, though not a patch on their MITB encounter.
Bray vs Reigns was entertaining and I loved that Bray was able to deconstruct Reigns' little hulk-up routine and clobber him with a clothesline. The mini-Wyatt family reunion will keep Luke in the picture and possibly lead to Reigns and Sting vs him and Wyatt.
Brock vs Rollins could have went a little longer before the timeliness of the 'Taker,. Rollins was working smart on Lesnar. At one point I was drawing paralels between suplex city and a kicking continent. A shame Lesnar seems typecast with the suplexes though, fans will soon start to think it's all he can do and grow tired of the act

I liked Rollins fighting against Brock. Wish he would have kept flipping out of the Germans more. I wish Brock would mix the suplexes up a bit though as at the moment, really, it's German Suplex City. How about Tiger, T Bone, Vertical, Snap, Belly to Belly, and German etc.
Overall, a disapointing Brock match. Now he is going to face and probably lose to Taker, an old guy who does not need the victory.
I want to see Brock face the younger roster, no more Taker, HHH or Cena.

So many issues... 1. Part-TimerMania now adds Summerslam apparently. It's never a good strategy to pad shows with guys who work limited dates that go over the guys that work full-time. Punk in the AOW podcast summed it up correctly. Using part-timers should be done (1)sparingly and (2)to put over this generation of talent, not each other (i.e. Sting/HHH, Lesnar/Taker). I know, I know people. You're probably thinking that would devalue the past superstars which sap them of their immortality in the wrestling ring? Yes, that's exactly the point. Their time is in the past. Stop fixating on the past. It's like people who bought tickets to that 90s rock cruise starring Everclear and Sugar Ray. C'mon guys! It was barely cool to like those bands at their peak. Why get sea sick or live with the fear of the boat capsizing and the last thing you see before you plunge into the mild Atlantic waters and die is the lead singer of Collective Soul reminding the frenzied crowd they'll be selling their CD over at the seafood section of the buffet? 2. Owens should've gotten over. I mean, it's not the end of the world. Savage did pretty good after he 'jobbed' to Steamboat at WM III. The WWE has a real issue trying to trade wins and keep Cena looking strong even though, at age 38, he's looming closer to a Rock schedule than most realize. Not only because of the mileage on the body, but because America is falling in love with him as the dumb, yet likable boy-toy of Amy Schumer in the romantic comedy "Trainwreck", in theaters now. 4. And what are half these guys fighting anymore for? R-Truth is walking around with a plunger. HE'S MOCKING BARRETT! A MAN OF ROYALTY EARNED FROM A FOUR-MAN TOURNAMENT! I guess that's better than feuding over a Japanese shampoo commercial. No, wait....NO IT'S NOT! There has literally never been a better reason for two men to want to break each other's necks than that. It's sad to witness how WWE's staleness is driving you to more serious posts.

The divas match was pretty much constructed to only showcase Sasha and Charlotte. Brie takes most of their shit and loses.

I just finished the PPV. Very solid action throughout. I loved Cena/Owens. I was really enjoying Lesnar/Rollins. The tag title match was fun. The Divas match was a great introduction to those who don't watch NXT.
Those finishes, though...

OK so I got home late, put on the PPV and started dosing off towards the end. Here's what I remember:
Sheamus vs. Orton - I believe the this is the second PPV in a row that opened with Sheamus' entrance. Crowd is HOT for Orton, as expected. They helped make this standard match a little better.
New Day vs. PTP - It sure looks like New Day is enjoying their heel role. Story of this match is how incredibly over Titus O'Neil is.
Reigns vs. Wyatt - I couldn't wait for this match to end. Interesting ending I guess.
Charlotte vs. Banks vs. Brie - I liked it. I liked that it was mostly Banks vs. Charlotte with a little involvement from Brie. Sad Becky Lynch didn't get to compete. Couldn't they have made this a four way?
Cena vs. Owens - Finally the match I've really been anticipating. It was kind of slow and plodding. Owens taps out and Michael Cole screams about an instant classic or some shit. I want to puke.
Rollins vs. Lesnar - I just want to see Lesnar toss Rollins around like a ragdoll, and we got that. Suddenly Undertaker appeared. Did I fall asleep and miss the end of the match? Undertaker kicks Lesnar right in the balls! What a heel! So... Taker cost Lesnar (a face) the title, and saved the title for Seth Rollins (a heel). What the hell is going on here? Is Undertaker evil again? Are they reforming Corporate Ministry? Actually, it stinks of lazy writing. I personally was not excited to see Undertaker here (especially doing a run in during a world title match), but the crowd lost their collective shit, so whatever I guess it worked. I think it's silly Taker is suddenly pissed about a match that happened a year and a half ago.
