I guess a tug of war with the main event wrestlers on the go home show wasn't a good enough sell for the audience.
Next year? Monkey bars.

Vince finally read up on Hollywood Accounting and realized that if Wrestlemania is in the books at a loss, he doesn't have to pay out profit based bonuses?

How is that even possible? I mean I know literally how it's possible but....how is that possible!? Well, the idea behind putting all PPVs on WWE Network was to pretty much sacrifice Wrestlemania revenue in order to boost revenue for the rest of the year and come out ahead overall. While I'm slightly surprised the event lost money, Wrestlemania in a vacuum will never be the ridiculously huge financial success it once was as long as you can watch it for $10. Vince finally read up on Hollywood Accounting and realized that if Wrestlemania is in the books at a loss, he doesn't have to pay out profit based bonuses? Actually, how does those wrestlemania pay bonus work? is based on the profit or the buyrate? JR's talked about this on his podcast. PPV bonuses are discretionary. They pay the talent pretty much whatever they feel like.

How was WrestleMania 31 a financial failure but WrestleMania XXX a success?

Not a complete surprise. There's the Network factor, obviously. But the production costs for this year were unique too; payday for virtually the whole roster, as well as for the NWO and DX, hiring a small army of extras for the special entrances, holding it in an outdoor arena that probably brought all kinds of technical challenges of its own-the let goes on.

Yeah, it seemed like the entire roster had their own special entrance this year, didn't it?
