trades not just signings trades WHo do they have to trade, of value, that they can afford to lose? we have lots of prospects we can give up our pitching is overloaded right now we can get rid of someone who's not degrom, harvey, wheeler, matz, or syndergaard

Ryne Sandberg is stepping down as manager of the Phillies. I remember the chatter, "why isn't this guy a manager yet?" Now we know...

People really did think Max Scherzer was going to have two no-hitters in a row. Welp....not happening, although the Nats are still winning.

And a run ends the Nats streak of shutout innings that was 48.0

Mets win despite only getting two hits. Syndergaard absolutely dominate tonight.

Good news everyone, the White Sox hit 3 HRs. Bad news, all solo shots. Detroit wins 5-4, they just outhit the Sox. And they announced some guy retiring from the Louisville Slugger factory after 46 years. He made bats from Ernie Banks to Jay Bruce (the last player to get a bat done by this guy). He figured he made 2.5 million bats.

Annoying to play the Cards close, when if the Cubs want to be a player in the NL Central, they need to beat them more often than not. Two games to go in this series, though, and they're coming to Wrigley for four games in just over a week...

Giancarlo Stanton has broken a bone in his left hand. Bad news for the Marlins. Attendance is going to hit about 600. Stanton's injury, and Harper having hamstring issues, Paul Goldschmidt could win the Triple Crown.

Donn Roach gets the start for the Cubs tonight, which will only be his second ever major league start - he started one game last season for the Padres. He's 7-1 with a 2.29 ERA in 14 starts for Triple-A Iowa.

Cole Hamels is now reportedly so desperate to get away from the Phillies, he told the team he'd waive his no-trade clause for a deal to any team.
