www.pwinsider.com/article/94699/update-on-the-status-of-james-storm-magnus-and-austin-airies-tna-radically-changing-the-way-they-do-business.html?p=1James Storm’s contract with TNA ends Sunday and so does Magnus's. Both men asked to be let out of their deals. TNA runs far fewer shows than they have in the past, meaning Storm and Magnus were making a lot less money. Storm and Magnus have opportunities to work in other places and wanted to be able to do so to make money for their families. TNA management understood the reality that the company faces and let both men out of their deals. At this point, TNA is changing the way that it runs to reflect the new reality of what their business is (producing TV rather than touring). The current plan is to have both men come back and work tapings and be members of the promotion’s TV shows, while being able to find other work to supplement their TNA income. If WWE wants to sign either man, they can. TNA didn’t have to let them out of their deals but did as the circumstances around the company have changed. Austin Aries will also have his contract expire after tomorrow’s show. TNA also wants to work with him in the future. TNA doesn’t have the revenue it once had, so it is not in a position to guarantee a lot of contracts. It will be up to the talent to decide if they are better off keeping their contract or trying to go out and make it on their own.

Yes, TNA understands that people need to be paid. Provided those people don't work in production.

The first thing TNA need to do to improve their business plan is remove Dixie Carter from her position of power.

Why allow WWE the chance to sign talent if TNA still wants to work with them? They're not just going to let guys work for TNA while under WWE contract.

I think it's more TNA accepting that if WWE really wants a guy, there's really nothing they can do to stop them from signing them up since they simply don't have the resources to make anything resembling a good counteroffer.

If somebody wants to be signed to WWE, they wouldn't be working with TNA in any capacity. Like Magnus, his wife's Mickie and they seem to like her, so if he wanted to go to NXT or something there's no way he'd come back to TNA for anything.

I also think they figure they'll Bully Ray it, that is, realize they have no interest from WWE, and come crawling back for a possibly lower paycheck when they realize their worth isn't that much.

Dude, knowing TNA, they probably went, "You were in the Rumble this year?! YOU GET DOUBLE!"

I think Paris Hilton could do a better job running a Hilton hotel than Dixie Carter has done running her own wrestling company

This would actually be a lovely development: talent getting to work almost wherever they want, with the biggest restriction TNA can give being "please don't work for a televised wrestling company if you're going to work with us".
Still, cripes TNA.

It's clear that TNA is basically done. They lack money to keep anybody really around. There so called Long term contract is not ever long term. Some been max a year because a year ago James Storm was one of the first long term contracts to sign. TNA staying in business and ever becoming successful in making real money is high doubtful.

Josh Matthews: "But, I still get to keep my Buckets O' Cash?" The joke's on him, it's all Monopoly money. And not proper Monopoly either, a knock off from the two dollar store.
