I'd take this with a grain of salt. This is Kurt Angle in TNA. I'm taking it with the whole damn shaker.

Update: 10:14 PM: PWInsider has learned that the tumor is something Angle has known about for about a year but of late it has been causing him some issues leading to muscle atrophy, which is why he's having surgery. I'll add this to the top post. And benign or not, and if it's starting to cause problems then it might very well not be, why the hell has he kept working on it for so long?

I'm convinced Kurt's not very bright. Or rather, that his work ethic overrides his common sense.

There is no way this is not legit in my mind. I don't care how bad Kurt has kayfabed things.....cancer isn't really one of those things you try and kayfabe if you are in the ring.
On why Kurt Angle continued to fight, that is a real answer. That is always sadly how Kurt has lived his life. It doesn't matter how severe things get, Kurt will fight until he is told by someone else not to.

Hell, TNA's already had something like that happen to them before when Candido miraculously resurrected long enough to help the Naturals win the tag titles. Wait what? This company man . . . The sad timeline of Chris Candido's death - on Sunday he suffered the injury that ultimately led to his passing. On Monday he underwent surgery for the injury. Tuesday he checked himself out of the hospital to go to an Impact taping to be at ringside (in a wheelchair) when the Naturals won the tag team titles. Wednesday he traveled back to his home in New Jersey. On Thursday he went to the ER where he passed away. On Friday that taped match with Candido was supposed to air on Impact (then on Fox Sports). I don't think TNA wound up actually airing it though.

I've heard it did air, but that they put up a title card about it at the start of the show.

This was taped days in advance of his death".

He died 6 days after Lockdown and the TNA end with Fox Sports was after Slammiversary.

Kurt is probably on enough pills that he won't notice that he was missing a limb until a year later

Wait, if he's known about it for about a year then that means he probably knew about it while he was trying to negotiate a return to the WWE last year? How did he expect to get this past them?

Y'know, I could maybe understand not wanting to lose a spot in WWE, but why would someone ever need to work injured with TNA? There'd never be an issue with Kurt getting healthy, coming back, and being right where he was in TNA (something I do give them credit for). Knowing you have a tumor and waiting a year is crazy to me.

Ok this is a new low, even for TNA. A guy's got a tumor which could potentially be fatal and he needs to have it worked on but he opts not to for over a year and not only do you ignore his doctors orders as well, you put him in matches where he tears himself up?

I am sorry, but there is no way this man will live to see his 50's. He literally has zero self-preservation skills.

That's what I was about to bring up. WWE would have benched him for sure if he went for one of their medical checks, regardless of whether he had a tumour or not. The neck and knees would have been enough for it.

I hope he can recover nicely, but more importantly, I hope that this can finally motivate him to just settle down and stay the f*** away from the ring while he still can.
If people look at your career and think of Randy The Ram, it's time to stop.

Of course Kurt worked with the damn tumor. Would you expect anything else from this man? And would you expect TNA to enable him by letting it happen, if they were even competent to know about it. (do they even do physical evolutions of their talent?)
