Notes time. Here is a fun one, Jenny is my song this summer, I have listened to it more than anything, I love it and adore it. But we had better songs here that I didn't like more, but they were superior. Also, I did my rankings when it was late and I was punchy, so I said some weird shit. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Anouk - Good God - Maybe the only misfire here is the group "ooh ooh ooh"s, they feel slightly off from the rest of the song, maybe mixed too far out. Otherwise outstanding in every way. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qsl4Mi2C5FkCounting Crows - Colorblind - pretty tinkly piano. Poetic lyrics, as always with Adam some iffy pronunciation and notes. Strings come in and it does a slow down at the perfect time to keep it from being boring and repetitive. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zY0yKxMwRGgThe Damned - Neat Neat Neat - Raucous, garage-y punk rock. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHpDgrG9H1kDe Novo Dahl - Shout - Gang vocals! Orson Wells selling me peas... Cool vocals, very much like "Hot Hot Heat". Redhead with tambourine keeps me from knocking off points due to "clown". www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqX1WqOkNScHozier - Arsonists Lullaby - Previously on the Walking Dead... Slow, stomping bass drum, interesting lyrics, one of those songs that works better with imagery, rather than just audio. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEtkIRlz7VwHusker Du - Celebrated Summer - Love the bassline. Fun post punkish tune with fuzzy guitars and wild vocals. Recording could sound a bit better, but it is also part of the charm of the style. Nice slow down part though the vocals sound like he is singing around a mouth full of clam chowder. From there it launches in to driving most pit fun. Love the outro. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q76GCw8qQVALianne La Havas - Elusive - What is with that dude's hair? Why isn't that my hair? Because I would look like a tool, got it. Fun bass, great vocals, slow dance guitar. Storm! oh wait, the mohawk isn't white. Pretty exceptional. Not a song I want to listen to often, but when I do listen I will loop it. www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=MVS3crqBzSAMartha and the Muffins - Echo Beach - 80's drum kit! Music is great, fast vocals are great. Slow vocals are almost painful. As is the Hilary Clinton pantsuit, what the hell is that? Reeks of the 80's in so many great ways. Inexplicable 80's saxophone! www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEQkIEkxm7kMichel'le - Something in My Heart - Why do I think the entire song wont be as awesome as the sax and piano intro. Look at me not being Whitney Houston! Good vocal, back up singers are even better. Good music that could be mixed better. "I killed a bald eagle for this dress". WIth the dress and the way she sings really really does look like a giant bird. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4tGdnryt8QMy Bloody Valentine - Only Shallow - Um... I like discordance sometimes? www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlC5CvDbS4ASonic Youth - Superstar - Sonic Youth Superstar is a fantastic name for a band, missed opportunity perhaps.... Love the bass and hollowed out vocals it makes it feel like the words being song are contrary to his actual feelings. Love the piano. I have heard some righteous covers of this over the years. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y21VecIIdBIThe Strokes - Hard to Explain - Cool bass line. Decent garage guitar. Steady, boring drums. Singer who has never felt the joy of testosterone pumping through his veins. The music deserves a better singer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDVobP7BfzoSturgill Simpson - Turtles All The Way Down - Leonardo's favorite song, his favorite movie? Turtles Going Down. Slow country bass, steady drums, little wank on the guitar. Vocals could be enunciated better. Kind of like a cotton mouthed Jeff Tweedy at times. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlYgTU1QAjETune Up - Ravers Fantasy - Bribing me with girl butt wont work! The music is pretty rad, but those vocals sound like Orko got a T-Pain toy microphone. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RrtY2lpf40Villagers - Nothing's Arrived - "I'm arriving, I'm arriving! Harder!" Like the lyrics a lot, everything is just good enough, but doesn't stand out aside from words. Really nice crescendo and strings added it late. Well paced. Www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xlMoJpU5igWalk The Moon - Jenny - Kind of unfair, as this is my summer jam, even posted as much on this forum. Didn't use the actual video! LAME. Nothing here I don't like. Perfect driving with the windows down song. Www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ8FIwrvPkEEdit: Putting the actual rankings here so it is easier for comparison. {Spoiler}1.Anouk - Good God 2.Lianne La Havas - Elusive 3.De Novo Dahl - Shout 4.Walk The Moon - Jenny 5.Villagers - Nothing's Arrived 6.Husker Du - Celebrated Summer 7.Sonic Youth - Superstar 8.Michel'le - Something in My Heart 9.Martha and the Muffins - Echo Beach 10.Counting Crows - Colorblind 11.Sturgill Simpson - Turtles All The Way Down 12.The Damned - Neat Neat Neat 13.Hozier - Arsonists Lullaby 14.The Strokes - Hard to Explain 15.Tune Up - Ravers Fantasy 16.My Bloody Valentine - Only Shallow

Mountain Goats, Barnett, and now this. Like with the others, I'll defend Julian's vocals to the death. His singing may not be the best, but it makes Is This It for me. Undoubtedly one of my five favorite albums ever.

So relieved to be out of the singoff I must have gone back and forth btwn a dozen songs for what to send for each. I was sure I would be in another singoff after I sent Superstar since my 2 singoffs in the previous seasons came after I send songs from the 90's.

@irontyger Demented Step forward As much as everyone wanted to believe it was a reverse mindf***...it wasn't. Tyger chose Arcade Fire and Demented chose Harley As much as one judge wanted to use their save...the save was not used By a two to one decision...the winner is Iron Tyger. Demented...I thank you for playing, and making it this far, but the path is over. Although a judging position may be in the books soon...so keep open your pms New Round on the hour
