Take your pick:
A) Talk to increase bookings B) Chuck Taylor is retiring so (insert real name here) can go to WWE/TNA/GFW C) He's a heel so he's toying with us D) He is actually retiring.
I'm leaning B.

He's joked about being on a retirement tour before, so I highly doubt he's serious.

I'm leaning B. what would be the point of changing his name to go work for GFW when he already works for GFW as Chuck Taylor

What's Doc Marten doing in the Full Sail Zone?! FTFY. Double fixed! Alternatively... What's the-best-wrestler-in-the-world-who-is-in-way-better-shape-than-Seth-Rollins doing in the Full Sail Zone?!

I hope, like everything else involving him (in a good way), this is a joke.

For all their faults Jarrett and Dixie aren't as anal over owning people's names as Vince McMahon is.

Then explain why Micheal Hutter became Ethan Carter the Third, Phil Shatter became Gunner, Austin Starr, Rhaka Khan, Alissa Flash, Robbie E, Roxxi, Madison Rayne, Jade, Jethro Holiday, etc. TNA liked to own names of wrestlers they branded just like WWE. Only folks who escaped it were indy and international standouts who got regular gigs outside of TNA.

Michael Hutter became EC3 because he couldn't be Derrick Bateman anymore, and they wanted SOMEONE to be Dixie's nephew. If it wasn't Michael Hutter, someone else would've been EC3. Trevor Murdoch became Jethro Holiday because WWE owned the name "Trevor Murdoch". Robbie E is just a "nickname" for Rob Eckos that fits the guido gimmick; He could've easily just been "Marcus Tyler" or some BS name like that. I can't really speak for the knockouts since I don't follow Womens indy wrestling. And sure, the indy and international standouts "escaped" having a new name. Does Chuck Taylor not fall under the category of someone who is a "name" indy talent? If he went to TNA, he likely wouldn't change his name. Some guys in TNA might get new names. Some won't. Whereas WWE would change a guys name no matter where they came from. Samuel Shaw is the farthest thing from a "standout" and yet he wrestled for TNA under his real name.

Micheal Hutter was "The Deviant" Micheal Hutter in AIW before he became Derrick Bateman in WWE. I honestly not understanding that you not getting WWE owned trademarks and names can't be used outside of WWE. It's their right to protect their intellectual properties. Just like TNA would get pissed if WWE signed Gunner and called him Gunner Murphy. If Chuck Taylor goes to TNA (And let's face it, no one new is coming in), TNA more than likely will change his name to fit whatever character they come up with.

They wanted the rights to his name and his character. They were really interested in him but there was no way he was giving that up and I don't blame him at all. They wanted Low Ki's name at one time and that's why he became Senshi for a while.
