Is it bad news? Sure. But the good news is nobody even knew PWI existed so the only people (us) who will know about their decision, already knew TNA was in trouble. So little to no damage is being done. The only people that know that TNA is a thing would probably know about PWI. Yeah that's what I was trying to say. I guess I could have been clearer. I just re-read my post and I can see where confusion could happen

So TNA vs. PWI? Man, I'm genuinely torn on who I should be mocking here.

Has Dixie accidentally sent any abusive e-mails to PWI yet? Pee Wee Herman recieved an angry message to his inbox earlier today, saying just because he was a Raw guest host that one time doesn't mean he can declare TNA's World Title void.

Don't know if I necessarily agree with this one. The TNA title is still defended internationally and against competitors all over the world, not to mention is on a program that is still aired in many places across the world too. There's plenty of things to be critical of TNA at the moment, but it technically is a title that's worldwide. This. TNA has international viewerbase, ROH doesn't.

Counterpoint; Ring of Honor works with New Japan, TNA doesn't even work with Wrestle 1 anymore.

So TNA vs. PWI? Man, I'm genuinely torn on who I should be mocking here. PWI was profitable once. TNA never made a dime; broken guitars or not. The people running PWI seem intelligent. The people running TNA can't spell intelligent. PWI didn't let Angle moonsault off a cage with a tumor in his neck. I know which side I'm on.

In other news,
Professional wrestling no longer recognizing PWI as a legitimate barometer of anything.

I can't remember who... Bob Ryder? I know I saw somebody on TNA bitching on twitter about it...... Yeah he was bitching about it. The funny thing is he took a shot at the guy's number of Twitter followers and the number of readers PWI has, and that he shouldn't criticize TNA, when just a few tweets before he took a shot at Raw.

Let's face it, TNA does no house shows or events, aside from apparently the token European tour and even that is dwindling anymore.
If they don't do shows anywhere at all and are stuck in the same place, not even for big events it seems like, can you really call their belt a World Title?

The concept of a 'World Title' is kind of from another era. The NWA World Heavyweight Champion would not only go defend the title in other countries. He defended it against THEIR stars. Today, people think of a 'world title' as a promotion's top championship and it is exclusively defended against people working for that promotion.

Who the f*** is Bob Ryder? Well I think someone summed it up best: He's currently vice president of finding talent in TNA. It's a long story as Bob's been in the "business" in some form or other since WCW was around. Basically Bob Ryder got his start doing some wrestling show many years ago. He went on to found 1wrestling.com, the premier site for wrestling newz and pop-up ads. Ryder's always been kind of shady. There were many accusations of him being on WCW's payroll while running 1wrestling. During this period I recall him doing WCW Live (An after radio show) with Jeremy Borasch. It turned out to be true and admits to much of it here: web.archive.org/web/20010419191450/http://www.1wrestling.com/columns/frombob/default.asp?B1=View+Column&articleid=3951So after Bob left WCW 1wrestling began to flounder and I believe Joey Styles was brought in because Bob wasn't paying the bills (I'm unclear about this part though). It's was in the death of WCW Bob Ryder, Jeff and Jerry Jarrett went fishing one day and TNA was born. Ryder suggested a company not reliant on television, but rather one going straight to pay-per-view. Ryder worked for several years as TNA travel agent before his current position.

The thing is wrestling is fake, and everything is a gimmick, so any title is a world title if the promotion deems it as such. I mean Mark Callaway isn't really an old west mortician zombie but you don't see PWI calling him out and not recognizing his gimmick.

Now I imagine Stu Saks like a jaded Roman emperor yelling at Kurt Angle to moonsault off the top of a cubicle wall in PWI's bullpen. "Do some more flips for me, spot monkey! Amuse me!"
