Was he even real? Was he just a bad dream we collectively had after eating some bad chinese food?

It's weird that he got so good in the indies. Dude always delivered in the ring I thought.
But that booking? Good lord it made him look terrible!

Here's every promo ever cut by Alberto in the WWE: PERRO, DESTINY, PERRO, DESTINY.... um... perro? Toss in a couple random crowd insults and that's 95% of his mic time. Then here's everything the announcers ever said about Alberto: Aggressive! Aggression! Aggressive streak! New-found Aggression!.... um... vs Sheamus!Everything but his wrestling and Richardo was seriously shitty.

I actually miss Del Rio, because looking back - brother could work. Brother could cut promos. Brother could get over, when given a good enough angle. But they booked him into oblivion. Has a four-time world champion ever been this inconsequential? The psychology of the Dolph/Del Rio match (and you can't often say that about a Dolph match) where he aimed for his concussed noggin was some of my all-time favourite storytelling in wrestling history.

Fantastic worker. If you don't believe me, check out any of his work on the indies or LU since leaving WWE.
Squandered to death in WWE.

It took Alberto to get fired for bitchslapping someone before folks recognize how good he was.

He was a good wrestler. Really good. He just had no direction ever and no momentum.

I don't understand this myth that he wasn't over. Sure he was boring as hell but he would get the loudest boos every time I saw him live.

It took Alberto to get fired for bitchslapping someone before folks recognize how good he was. Now they have non WWE material to compare his work there to and can see just how capable he is when he's not being subjected to the WWE's one size fits all main eventer booking.

One thing I hated is the Cena feud.
"The cars you bring in? Not yours."
Really what was the point of killing his gimmick?

After he got fired, the very same people who declared him boring and proudly admit to not watching his matches due to that suddenly becoming his biggest supporters even before he got his first post WWE booking. It was funny having folks here fawning over him when weeks earlier called for him to be fired. ADR was a very good wrestler in WWE. But that got lost in the "I never seen him more aggressive" armbarring.

Alberto Del Rio was the textbook example of a wrestling "mechanic" to me, he came out, occupied 10-20 minutes of time during which he never did anything outstanding (aside from that one hilarious incident when he beat the shit out of Sin Cara) but also never messed anything up either. He was like Randy Orton 2: Latineletric Snoozaloo.

One thing I hated is the Cena feud. "The cars you bring in? Not yours." Really what was the point of killing his gimmick? Cena Mary Sue-ing at its finest. His character has to be the best, even if it is fourth wall breaking (I think?). Also Del Rio, I can't decide if it was all booking hindering his talent or if he really didn't like playing a heel. I can't ever fully dislike him or be disinterested as he was in one of my favorite matches.

I thought turning him face by just one day having him say 'I love my country! Love me for it!' was weird.
They easily couldve replicated the DDP face turn with him. Have him lose everything and build himself back up as a real man of the people.
