Almost like TNA's Bray Wyatt I suppose. For a brief while the IWC actually seemed to like the character and the portrayal of it, but it slid downhill pretty fast. Granted, a big part of that was the fact the guy was raw as could be in the ring. But still, I think 90% of it wad booking. At first the character had a kind of freshness. Much like the Wyatt Family, it was a welcome change of pace in the PG era of wrestling. But they just got real cartoony with it. Perhaps if they had stuck more to the way he was depicted in those early skits with Christy, rather than having him drag around a mannequin and living in his mom's basement, it could have retained some cool factor. And most specially, have someone OTHER than freaking Kennedy as the face in that feud. Of all people, the most unlikeable guy on the roster was the choice to be the white knight defending the fair maiden. Almost made your pot for the guy with the serial killer gimmick.

I don't get why he was in his mom's basement when we SAW HIS APARTMENT www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkWCFv-0NqkStill, I really liked the slow build of the character. We got to kind of figure out he was crazy, not just shown it and told it a million times like WWE would have done. I thought the initial character was really great. TNA's Local Man ruined him though.

I said this before that they had many directions they could of took with the character. If you wanted to make him serious you make him extremely dark choking peoplel out and attempting to drag their bodies away, or if you wanted to make him a light hearted face just show the peril he faces with the things in his mind.
For every Bram or EC3 they get right there will be a mistake like Sam Shaw.

He lost to Anderson.
Nothing could save him after that.

Like I said when the news broke that he was leaving: they should've gone whole hog with his initial Patrick Bateman-meets-Dexter gimmick. He should've been suave, sophisticated, dangerous, and utterly out of his gourd.
Then they decided to add in mannequins and a trip to his mother's house, because we can't have nice things.

I've only seen him once, and it was something where he was very slowly and awkwardly walking around a ring trying to get to someone, Hemme, I guess. It was god-awful, the Mummy from the old Universal movies moved with more speed and grace.

I guess to be fair on the apartment issue, it is reasonable to believe he could no longer afford his own place after being in TNA for awhile.

if did end up killing Hemme he would've been over I remember thinking that would have been the perfect set up for future endeavoring Christy at the time.

Could he still do this elsewhere, or is the bloom off the rose so to speak?
I think if given the chance to do a sort of retcon and just continue where his character was going in the early days, it could be really cool. Although, it's probably too late heh.
He looks like Christian Bale and the gimmick's a perfect fit for him imo.

This is typical TNA. They come up with a great idea and the first part of it, i.e. Aces & 8s, Sma Shaw, but they don't think it all the way through to the middle or the end. Because of that, storylines just drag on and on and go nowhere, until they have some asinine swerve and everyone can see how it's going to end or it just goes into something stupid, such as Sam Shaw PTSD and That Guy Gunner only to turn on him to hook up with Brittany.

I think the way to do it would have been more Patrick Bateman-esque, with the whole drive to fitting in. And try to toe the line as to whether he is a bad guy or not.
1. This protects the green guy in that he doesn't have to fulfill the heel roll of calling and controlling the match. 2. This gives some time to gauge crowd reaction to see where they want to take him.
Then they could have a moment to really drive home the point of him seeing a title, and his reaction being similar to Bateman's reaction to the co-worker's business cards.

They went too Norman Bates with it, and couldn't pick which one it was supposed to be. I rooted for Shaw, but I think it was mainly just for the unique finisher and the awesome theme, the "Night Call" ripoff he had.

His Dexter-like tendancies would have been an amazing way to explain the many releases that have happened recently. If he had killed Anderson in a 'Kill Room Brawl', I would have given TNA everything I own.

It could have worked but it would require them to be able to competently tell a story.
