As the topic states, if Bryan had to retire from in-ring competition, what would you like to see him do in the company?
On-screen, I'd like Bryan to be a nice face GM or even, weirdly enough, he can end up being part of the Board of Directors. Whenever heels go too far and the Board of Directors gets brought up, we can see Bryan. He'd be above whatever dastardly heels there are but he wouldn't be there constantly considering he can't always thwart the heels. Besides that, he can be a nice manager for a face. Maybe come out like legends do from time to time to hype the matches up.
Backstage, I'd like him to move up the ranks. He needs to be a part of creative, he needs to help book these storylines, he can be that.

I'd like him to be head trainer. I mean Albert's a solid talent and while he's a good dude to help out the likes of Big Cass and Baron Corbin, I think a more technical hand is needed to train your cruiserweights and your 6'3 240 lb guys that WWE has a hard on for.
These greenhorn football players and amateur wrestlers need a technician to mold them into workrate machines so that they won't suck so much and be better accepted by the crowd. Bryan can do that.

Figure out a way to just have him and Miz bantering and making fun of Tough Enough contestants in perpetuity.

He would probably be a Ron Simmons type character, coming in and doing Yes!/No! after a backstage moment.

If he is forced into retirement because of his injuries, there is no way he can train people. Getting in the ring is too dangerous and without being hands on he'd be useless. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him train but not at the further expense of his health. I'd say commentary but they have a plethora of talent there right now. Legends/PR work or a GM type role is really all I can see open. Maybe talent scouting.

No reason he can't train and get physical in training if he doesn't have a severe injury like Edge. He just can't be going at level 10 or doing riskier spots on a nightly basis. Just depends what the main issue is right now (last I heard it was concussion related).

Okay, let me put this another way, if WWE forcably retires someone, they will not be putting them in a position to be physically involved in something and we know from Bryan himself that he cannot be in the ring without wanting to be involved. So unless he can sit outside the ring and articulate how to wrestle without ever putting a hand on someone, he is useless in that role, IMO.

Member of the booking team or a Road Agent like most of the other good hands that have retired early. Guy has a great mind and a passion for wrestling and hasn't been damaged by drink or drugs.

Tease a return just before the Rumble every year to boost ratings for Smackdown and utterly tank the guy the company is booking to win?

Tease a return just before the Rumble every year to boost ratings for Smackdown and utterly tank the guy the company is booking to win? This brings to mind the actual similar form: Have Bryan go similar to Edge, and transfer to acting roles solely in WWE Films projects for cheap. Not whether he'd be a good actor or not, but solely so that Daniel Bryan geeks buy up every copy of the DVD or Blu-Ray in a vain attempt to make Daniel Bryan as big a movie star as Dwayne Johnson is (and similarly, count "his DVD was the biggest selling at Walmart for [x] week, that's EASILY as big a feat as 'Guardians of the Galaxy' or any of the 'Fast and Furious' movies' openings were! He's bigger than Hogan, Rock, and Austin combined, seriously!") Simpler, and far more likely to transition what Bryan would still be able to bring to the table to huge money.

An ambassador type gig doing stuff like Be a Star. Along with that, occasional ppv panel appearances and things of that nature.

Pull a Hogan and have him shill merchandise and do his YES/NO routine for a comedy pop when they're in his hometown.

Public ambassador as Warrior was planned to be. I've zero clue about his coaching/training ability, but his creative/booking acumen is wishy-washy. Sure, he knew the NXT challenges were a complete waste of time, but then we have this year in which he says he was stimulated by the IC Title ladder match storyline, including finding R-Truth's antics to be funny.
