Shouldn't we be in the midst of WWE's annual big summer storyline right now? It's a pretty bad sign if it's July and we're still in the post-WrestleMania hangover period. This year's big summer angle: Kane's slow burn face turn and rise to the top and a victory against Lesnar/Rollins at Summerslam. Followed by a dramatic cash in by Sheamus. Who will be the new authority golden boy and will reign supreme until he is finally vanquished by the "Big Dog" himself Roman Reigns at WrestleMania! Dean buys the beers.

I now feel compelled to make another bet thread over whether or not the Shield triple-threat actually main events WrestleMania. Because if they didn't, I'm pretty sure this board would go nuclear.

I wonder if this rating surprises them or if it's pretty much what they're shooting for. Was said they were upset about it

Chances that they (HHH/Steph, with the B-Team) open the show: 100%

I'm sure there was a T-ball championship on channel 58 or whatever. We'll just use that excuse this week. Those Sanford & Son reruns are a bitch. They've been screwing over TNA for years.

I hope that was sarcasm, when I read this excuse, I ask "what the hell are you doing at 10 PM on a Monday night?" I mean I was watching... but just historically people watch less tv in general in the summer, that's why there are so many re-runs, and cheaply made game shows during this time Even at its worst it's still a top rated show. However this week in general is supposed to be one of the most traveled weeks of the year, I'm sure this has some effect on people watching.Wwe could probably shake things up get a few more people to watch, but realistically this is the time of the year for bad ratings. :-\ But, for Raw, there are basically three "seasons" of the year. There is Mania season, which gets the highest ratings, the "Summer," which runs pretty much after Mania (excepting the Raw immediately after Mania) until the beginning of September, and then there's Football season, which goes from September until the end of December (aka, when they go up against Monday Night Football). There is always a drop from the "Summer" season to the "Football" season. In terms of viewership, it goes (1) Mania Season, (2) Summer Season, (3) Football Season. But this year, the Summer Season has been worse than its been the past few years during Football Season. And that means that the "people are traveling" excuse doesn't really work because this week's Raw isn't an anomaly. Last week's Raw averaged 3.67 million, and two weeks before that, 3.645. In fact, in the 14 Raws since Mania, they have only averaged over 4 million viewers three times (the Raw immediately after Mania, the go-home show before ER, and the post-MITB Raw). As I mentioned earlier in this thread, the past few years have all had a "Summer" (May - Sept) average over 4 million, this year they are averaging 3.75. This is a trend.

I wont be surprised if fans turned off for good after watching Lesnar being taken out by KANE of all people in 2015.
When is Vince gonna understand no one wants Kane in the main angle?
If Lesnar doesnt get the belt at Battleground then dont be surprised if rating reaches late 2000 WCW ratings.

Doesnt look like a good number on its own Only reason I knew there was a RAW replay was because you guys were talking about it on here. Doesn't seem like it means much on its own. If it happened like 5 times in a row that'd be something.

More of a HHH move since Vince and his dad never did that Bingo. And you know where Hunter got that, right? From his idols. Bingo. They're booking WWE like NWA/JCP on 'roids, and that's not what the WWE audience wants to see. They want Austin, they want Rock, they want back-and-forth, not the Horsemen. Wrong booking philosophy, and it's paying off in nega-dividends.

I was gonna say the USA vs Germany did very well and that may be a reason why the number was down....until I realized that was on Tuesday.

NWA/WCW went broke twice with that same "heels run roughshod" philosophy. The sad part of JCP is that there was never any real blow off to the initial 1985-88 era Horsemen storyline. It was kinda "Eh, Arn/Tully lose to the Midnights at some random show and go to the WWF" and then at some point early in 1989 Windham lost to Luger and left. Flair himself never got any real comeuppance for all of the awful things he had done, unless you consider trading the belt with Steamboat in 1989. And then Flair turned face and got the belt back anyway.
Don't even get me started on the NWO and lack of blow off there. The problem with the Authority is that there isn't any blow off to do that hasn't been done. The Authority were gone after Survivor Series and then just came back for no good reason. No one wanted this. No one cares.

With the lack of excuses for this number, and a pattern of mostly low numbers (with the exception of shows the day after PPV shows) since mid-April, I expect a reaction from Vince McMahon. Three hours is too long, but it has ben three hours for years. Taking the focus off John Cena as the top guy and putting it more on Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose may be growing pains that are necessary for the future. But a big part of the issue is they've made a decision to use Cena in a different way, rarely on last, and they haven't been able to come close to creating another Cena, while the biggest other star, Brock Lesnar, is a part-timer.

But hey, jobbing to Cena sure made stars out of Ryback & Bray Wyatt.

Almost two years without a long title run with a face And roughly 4 years since the World Title changed hands on Raw.
