So here's a funny story.
According to the Wrestling Observer this week, during the tapings, somebody turned on Destination America early backstage and the A.J. Styles & Young Bucks vs. Rocky Romero & Trent Barreta & Kazuchika Okada match was playing and a lot of the talent were going crazy for it, which caused John Gaburick to get mad and yell, "Get that shit off."

I can sorta see his viewpoint on this though. There are old school fans or more traditional fans who cringe at matches like that. It was the epitome of a wacky spotfest with guys hitting every absurd move under the sun, no one selling any of it, and a million finishers. Who buys Trent Barreta kicking out of a million awesome moves?

This is the most TNA thing I've ever heard.

Of course he wouldn't. He forced AJ out of TNA thinking AJ would come crawling back but instead he is draped in the gold of NJPW and main eventing for the company that has knocked TNA on its ass and possibly off TV in the coming months. It is a waking nightmare for him.

To make himself feel better, Big John signed Bram to a Multi-Year deal.

To make himself feel better, Big John just sealed the deal! Bram has re-signed to a multi-year contract with TNA! Had to fix that just a little.

Who buys Trent Barreta kicking out of a million awesome moves? I betcha that's nothing to do with it, it's just that it's the competition and he's TNA's assistant principal. There were stories of the same thing happening in WCW when Jericho went to the WWF and his buddies wanted to watch him.

I was about to say, that match was a better X-Division match than any TNA match in like the past 3 years.

Who buys Trent Barreta kicking out of a million awesome moves? That would be rich considering the insane number of finishers Angle kicks out of, or the Wolves vs Dirty Heels series where pretty much every match had numerous kickouts from what should have been match enders.

Honestly I could see where someone might not like that match just due to how absurd and convoluted the ending was. I liked it, but that ending was ridiculous enough I can certainly see why someone wouldn't.

Who buys Trent Barreta kicking out of a million awesome moves? This is the same company that use to send X-Division guys out to the ring and tell them "Alright guys, four minutes, video game", basically telling them to do every move they could with no psychology and get out of there so Jeff Jarrett could talk for 20 minutes.

Oh I didn't say TNA was blameless when it comes to the desensitization of modern wrestling fans either. It does seem like with the exception of Angle most of the guys doing this in TNA are the ones who also spent a lot of time in ROH, so there's some cross pollination going on here.

There were stories of the same thing happening in WCW when Jericho went to the WWF and his buddies wanted to watch him. WCW didn't care about their wrestlers watching WWF until they were getting their butts kicked. Many wrestlers from both sides of the Monday Night War have admitted to watching the competition. Heck, even Vince himself admitted to watching Nitro and being impressed with the production. But in the end, a lot of these wrestlers that worked together are friends and want to see their friends doing well. This just sounds like WCW in it's dying days, bitterness from upper management because they know they are losing.

I bet in his mind, all that NJPW garbage is nothing compared to the awesomeness of 5 matches in a row featuring random brawling around the ring.
