For how much hate the movie gets I do love the ending Well, that was all from the original film. I know. A lot of people I talked to not even fans of the Original Version

The best thing about the Classic Media releases is the commentary. you can learn so much from them Oh, you absolutely can. And I think I could be a better intro man than Harry Knowles here. There had to be someone better then Harry

Just think in 1956 in the US How big the movie had to be. I wonder if people thought 60 years later Godzilla would still be around No one could have predicted that. Same could be said for James Bond and Dr. Who....stuff like that just happens.

Oh and we avoided an even worse version of this film called the Volcano Monsters. A well deserved corporate death. Makes you wonder what if KOTM would bombed when it came to the states

Noooo the escape sequence of you can't tell what is happening! Haha. Man, the VHS copy I had when I was a kid was so dark I thought they had forgotten to transfer the video during this part. By the way, the prisoners escaping....that was in the original film. The strange thing about the original film is I think, if I remember correctly, the strange roars are like that even in the Japanese version. Its bizarre. It has been awhile since I've watched it though, I might be misremembering. I still think the battle between Anguirus and Godzilla in this is one of the most intense fights in any of the movies. Too big guys going at it hard! Haha, it helps that Anguirus is my favorite non-Godzilla monster in these movies.

He shouldn't have built his factory out of those buildings that blow up in every Godzilla movie if he didn't want it to get trashed.

It's just this stupid film altered it to try and pass the monster off as it's own character, which failed epically.

That monster fight in the second movie always felt like it was at least twice the speed of standard fights. Real primal sort of feel rather than a nearly-pro-wrestling-style pace. Except for Godzilla vs Zilla in Final Wars

Which reminds me how odd it was that Dr. Yamane had to remind anybody of what Godzilla was in the first place. It was like, what were these officials doing during the first one, living under a rock? Yeah yeah, I know... it was really for the audience... But....

Everyone in Japan in this film's world would have known exactly what the hell Godzilla looks like and what he had done. In fact, it became a running joke in later films how many times Godzilla would destroy a city and then in a next film, that same city would show no damage from the previous film. Honestly, this film was not that great to begin with (even though the American version is rather atrocious).

And I once read a thing about the making of this castle here and the man hours involved. I don't know if I would be proud or sad after seeing so much work get crushed...

I will give both versions of the film credit.....the death of Anguirus is still brutal.

Also was said it was hot as hell in that suit All the suits were hot as hell and I feel bad for the person in the Anguirus suit because that person had to crawl everywhere in that hot suit.

It was just the timing of saying that was great. I also hear they were one step away from being deathtraps in the water scenes... Holding water in them, weighing a ton, huge possibility of drowning. I wonder what the going rate for being a stunt actor in these was for the time.
