Simon Adebisi has possibly the tiniest hat I have seen on a male plus he rarely takes it off. I love the show a lot

My all time favorite show...until the last season. Now it ranks somewhere in the low 50's.

I'm pretty sure Warden Glenn would have been fired after about the 450th rape and the 100th murder at his prison.

One of my favorite shows ever. Even the lackluster final season doesn't hurt it too much. Brings back memories of when they would release a single season on DVD every year. I would devour the 8 episodes in about 2 days, tben have to wait an entire year for another fix.
Today's generation with on demand have no idea how good they have it.

Absolutely one of my favorite shows ever, and doesn't get enough credit for kick starting the modern golden age of TV drama. It predates Sopranos by a season or two, and I guarantee if Oz hadn't been so successful, Tony and Company probably wouldn't have gotten much of a chance.
I was always super disappointed, though, that they never dropped any references to how many inmates were cops and whatnot on Law and Order.
I'm not talking full on crossover, just having some rapist or something look at Keller and saying, "Man, that f***er looks JUST like the guy that arrested me!"

I was laughing at the fact that Dean Winters and Christopher Meloni were cops on the early episodes of SVU

A few positives to counter my negative post...
TITS!!! I NEED TITS!!! - Adebisi Kareem Said's twin brother killed a cop in Baltimore. OH! Friggin' JK Simmons! Oscar winner JK Simmons!
You will be AMAZED at how close to wrestling angles some of the plots go. IT'S GANG WARFARE!!!!

{Spoiler}I didn't have anyth No bad to say about the last season. The Dr. And OR'ielly was a little far fetched. I liked the Shakespearian tragedy homage to the feud between Keller, Beacher and Schillinger. It always was written as though it were a Shakespearian play so to wrap it literally within one was perfect. I was disappointed about the way Miguel finished up. The dude was a survivor. No matter what he hung in there season after season. The final situation he is left in was disappointing. I never liked that crackhead that swore revenge on the dude who killed Sieed. But in the end I was pissed he got knocked off by such a weak character.

Great show. I'm planning to re-watch it soon. It was one of the first real "adult" shows I got into, back in high school; so many great characters, from Beecher to Said, to Adebisi, and so on.

Sometimes it feels like HBO and other tv critics formed a conspiracy to forget Oz so they can talk about the glory years of cable started because of the Sopranos. I'm shocked how many people just five years or younger than me will go on and on about how good that it, and Breaking Bad, and the Wire, but somehow have never even considered watching Oz.

Growing up in the 90's both shows were considered groundbreaking, but the further we go the more Oz is cast aside.

Everyone forgets how they were told OZ was coming. Spawn had debuted on HBO a few months prior. Spots aired in conjunction. Spawn was good man. As an adult a cartoon as had ever been produced for nation wide tv
