He can use his current theme forever. It is just classic.

Motorhead covering Sympathy For the Devil sounds like some of the worst shit in existence, and I like the song and Motorhead. It would sound exactly like "bow down to the, bow down to the game", but it would say "pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name". Exact same musical accompaniment.

What if he came out to the awesome theme WWE already made for him? Then they wouldn't have to pay out the ass for a Rolling Stones song! Hunter's friends with Lemmy, I doubt they would have to pay a lot like they did for Metallica since it's Motorhead that's covering. It doesn't have to be a full time thing, it can be like when Bischoff came out to "Back In Black" and then the week after came out to "I'm Back" You do realise licensing fees don't work like that, right? Even if Lemmy offered his services for free, they'd still have to pay the Stones for the right to use the song.

"Will Motorhead ruin the Finn Balor gimmick?"

Licensing fees for Stones songs are seriously, stupidly insane. There aren't many musicians/bands out there that cost more, in fact. Conan O'Brien used 5 seconds of "Satisfaction" on one of his last NBC shows and it cost the studio $500,000.

Conan was trying to play the rebel who was sticking it to the network that screwed him over.

For whatever reason, covers are apparently cheaper: ECW DVDs from Pioneer Entertainment dub over "Enter Sandman" by Metallica with "Enter Sandman" by Motorhead. The original theme to "The Wonder Years" is replaced on Netflix, but the replacement is just a cover. It's the exact same song with the exact same lyrics, just done by someone else.

AC/DC got the same amount for Thunderstruck being used in something. In fact, just found a link where it's stated it cost Mercedes $1.5 MIL to use "Sympathy" in a commercial. twitchy.com/2013/02/03/how-much-did-mercedes-pay-to-license-rolling-stoness-sympathy-for-the-devil/

Wow. I wasn't questioning that Rolling Stones charged a ton for their songs (I alluded to that earlier in the thread), but I thought I had read that NBC did not actually have to pay that and that it was all part of Conan's bit.

Yeah, it's the difference between the Master License and Mechanical License. And I find that hilarious about Wonder Years, since the theme was ALREADY a cover.

Yep, which is also how Louis CK can afford to use his theme, as he hired the original singer to record a new version after hammering out a deal with him, which he got far cheaper.

Cheaper, but still not cheap when you consider Balor already has a perfect theme already.

I think favours were called in.

He should come out to "Are You Jimmy Ray" by Jimmy Ray. Why, who wants to know?

He should use "Obscure" by Dir en Grey.
I'd post it, but I'd rather not take the risk of getting another warning.

Nah, nothing's gonna get better than him posing with the "DUH NUHHHHH!" in his music. Every time I see this, it reminds me of that scene in Cable Guy when they battle at medieval times
