From 2008-2010 that is. We had Miz & Morrison killing it every week, a fun back-and-forth storyline with Armando Estrada & Colin Delaney, Mark Henry's title reign, Matt Hardy's first World Title win*, Christian's comeback & title reign, the birth of Long Island Iced-Z, new guys like Jack Swagger & Tyson Kidd, Tommy Dreamer winning the ECW Championship, and etc. That was just some solid wrestling back then. I remember it being a lifesaver back in 2009 with how bad Raw was.
*WWE kept treating it like a World Title when Matt was champ, so I'll just say that it was a world title from 2006 to when he dropped it.

With fresh new talent on the rise and veterans experiencing career resurgences, it was literally the NXT of the late 00s.

WWECW was awesome in that time period, it peaked for me as a great complimentary show in 2009 to Smackdown that summer. Actually now that I think about it ECW stayed good longer than Smackdown that year, which got wonky as soon as Jeff left and Undertaker came back. I am of course biased to WWECW for a number of reasons.

I really enjoyed the 1st few weeks and it had this weird underground feel
I even enjoyed the whole zombie thing with sandman , it was cool seeing weird people like the Nacho Libre knock off
And seeing CM Punk debut was cool

Should've renamed and put NXT1 on a different night.

I used to question its heart. But it was still standing there.
Ironically, now that it is no longer standing there, I never question its heart.

It was alright
Honestly, NXT has outclassed it in almost every way.

NXT hasn't had any skirt-clad general managers! WWECW still wins in that regard.
I loved WWECW. The Zach Ryder/Christian feud is one of my favorite feuds ever, they had some great matches and some great chemistry. I loved everything about this show.

I'm glad NXT is it's own thing so we don't have people still complaining ECW's name is being run into the ground, now Shane Douglas and TNA can exist for that.

I mean it in the sense that Sami Zayn and Friends could've been the stars of ECW and did all their awesome work on THAT show, leaving the developmental brand to actually BE developmental, giving the performance center talents room to grow.

WWECW just ran it's course. I wouldn't mind a company like that but not with that name, needs to just be laid to rest.

From the time it debut till the time it ended, it was the most consistently entertaining wrestling show on television.

Don't forget Braden Walker! I still say that singlet was a good look for him.

WWECW and nXt are the same concept, but don't feel the same at all.

WWECW was my saving grace on TV from 2006-2010. I loved it and was devastated when it was gone. 2009 RAW's where so unbelievably bad, it was great to have something to look forward too.

I know people crap on that zombie segment that started things off but honestly I saw it for what it was. They needed someone to get pummelled by Sandman with a Cane so why not get a silly jobber? People loved it because Sandman caned someone and no one of importance was buried.

I get that it maybe initially hated for being the first segment and moment of the brand new ECW, but holy f*** that was hilarious. Edit: I just googled the ECW Zombie and he passed away earlier this year
