Because at some point, they'll all be called up to Raw/Smackdown and overshadow every performer we've seen for the past ten years. I mean afraid as in, "These young guys have the audience in the palm of their hands night after night and Orton literally has to signal the crowd to stand up and cheer before his own finisher."

Yeah if the NXT guys are called up a lot of the people on the main roster might end up with no direction, no characters, and relegated to meaningless matches on Main Event and Superstars.

A lot of the NXT guys won't get over on the main roster, at least not in comparison to what they have on NXT. It's what happens with every developmental system, not everyone who succeeds in developmental gets over on the main roster.

Tyler Breeze will be labeled as Fandango 3.0 the second a video package of him airs by a lot of people for example.

Why would they? Half of the NXT guys and gals are gonna be used poorly used like a lot of the main roster, nullifying any good they are doing in NXT.

Yes, because they finally have a developmental system that works. Guys like Dolph Ziggler have found themselves no longer as irreplaceable as they once were because the shield have shown they can produce upper midcarders that get over and stay over and are capable of main eventing, and to make matters worse, TNA are effectively dead and can no longer pay them a decent wage for a fraction of the work. Established talents have a lot less leverage now and once they're gone, they're never coming back fulltime.

They're more afraid of Triple H gaining control I'm sure and I mean this by "they" as in the standard midcard and lower card guys.

Maybe not. I don't think HHH would release all of the midcard and lower card talent in favor of NXT. Some of the guys on the main roster have talent that he has seen, but Vince won't show on TV. For example: Big E. The stuff he's been doing in The New Day is only a fraction of how entertaining he can be. Ryback is also highly useful and will be around for a while longer. And Sheamus, well he'll be a Local Man for the rest of his career being that he and HHH are friends. Same goes for Orton and Big Show, that is until Show retires. Anyone else would likely either be a road agent or find a career behind the scenes elsewhere.

NXT got over on their own and they did it under WWE, lead by Triple H and Dusty Rhodes, which has to likely annoy Vince to no ends.

Being afraid of losing your spot is something that goes back through the documented history of the business, hence guys always working hurt. I think the bigger worry about NXT is probably bitterness and envy; there is an entire generation of guys with no direction who came up through the old farm system and peaked pretty low. Honestly, as far as careers go Dolph has had one of the better ones, which is a pretty worrying sign right there. But from the ground up, NXT is designed to be a better and more advanced training system than ever before, and its evidence is already clear, especially for the women. In a few years, we're going to see home-grown guys who've had a much better developmental system in a state-of-the-art facility, and it'll show. The threat of being rendered obsolete by a better-equipped generation given resources that you didn't have is a much bigger concern.

The my spot is in danger, factor certainly means some fear or jealousy is likely. That is human. But talent should use that as a motivator to drive them. Once the young stud comes up, it should be more pressing and they should seek out angles against the upstarts. Making one of them look good while still making yourself look good, is a sign of true talent in this business. As an old school guy, HHH would see the value in that. But one dynamic that is likely to present itself is HHH's admiration for those he saw come in, or recruited, mentored, watched them develop and succeed. He has the lead on development at the performance center. Hell the whole thing might have been his idea (and it was a good idea). He will rightfully, feel an attachment to a worker as they grow. Naturally he would put someone he invested in, in a spot he/she has an opportunity to succeed at. But the man is smart enough not to abandon established guys.

I think the NXT crowd is more afraid of part timers. But this thread is silly considering almost half of the main roster are NXT alumni including 5 former NXT champions on the main roster and the main event scene has been dominated by the NXT alumni. So are you're saying the NXT alumni are afraid of the current NXT guys taking their spots and we have this same thread again 2 years later with even more NXT guys on the main roster?

A lot of the NXT guys are leaps above some of the guys on the main roster. So I wouldn't be surprised to see some guys get cut and replaced as a result.

Umm, the OP is a bit melodramatic. No single person in NXT has ever heard a pop the size Randy Orton gets most nights. Orton not being over is one of the most contrived agendas pushed by the IWC. It is a blatant lie.

Mid card, they're not thinking like "oh shit it's NXT they're so awesome what can we do?", but they're essentially seeing their boss train their replacements.

I never said Orton wasn't over. But many times he has had to manually pump up the crowd.

Also, a good handful of NXT alumni get loud pops: Abrose, Reigns, Wyatt to name a few.

If you're of that Wade Barrett generation that hasn't really done shit with your career you have to be. This NXT crew is already more trusted than you've ever been and have more positive exposure through the Network than you've had you're entire career. Plus they are the chosen ones of Triple H while you come from the era of Ace and he isn't exactly loved for his talent relation days.

Exactly. NXT call ups aren't a threat to everyone, but they're dangerous for guys like Barrett, Slater, and Truth. Their spots could certainly be in question.
