Another great Neo-Thrash band that, despite having more former members than albums, has kicked ass on a consistent basis WARBRINGER!

I still credit this song as my official intro into power metal. I had grown tired of nu-metal, and as it was still the dawn of the internet music era, I had no idea power metal existed. I had heard a handful of Blind Guardian, Helloween and Gamma Ray songs, but the first album I happened to run into in stores was Demons & Wizards. Although the entire album was awesome, "Fiddler On The Green" and "Blood On My Hands" were what absolutely hooked me to a point where I wanted to find as much about the genre as possible.

I'm in the mood for some death metal or black metal, does anybody know of some good stuff that's available for free legal download? I only ask because a lot of the underground rappers I listen to release music for free legal download, so I figured there must be some metal bands who do the same.

Thanks, that's exactly the type of thing I was looking for. Also, unrelated to free stuff but awesome anyway: Good band. Just finished listening to this, and it was indeed awesome.

My favorite Napalm Death record. I can seriously listen to this album at anytime and I never get sick of it.

Another older Blind Guardian track from their second album and one of two (alongside Valhalla) that still gets played live, BANISHED FROM SANCTUARY!

The Gallows Pole and My Last Sunrise are good also. That first album was awesome, their second...not so much. With the exception of Terror Train, I can't remember any other songs from it.
