This thread is for movies that would otherwise be forgotten if it weren't for one particularly memorable moment, scene, sequence, or performance. I'll post my top 5 in random order to start:
Bullitt (1968) - Only the most die-hard Steve McQueen fans would fondly recall this slumber-inducing police procedural if it didn't contain the car chase scene that set the all-time gold standard.
Street Fighter (1994) - The late Raul Julia's hilariously campy farewell performance as M. Bison is the only thing keeping this in-name-only adaptation of the popular fighting game from joining the likes of Double Dragon, King of Fighters, and every Uwe Boll movie in the dustbin of video game movie history.
Embrace of the Vampire (1995) - To most, this was just a cheap exploitation quickie made to cash in on the Anne Rice craze, but if you were a teenager in the '90s who was into girls, Alyssa Milano's love scenes made this the greatest movie ever.
Paradise (1982) - This was to the '80s what Embrace of the Vampire was to the '90s, as Phoebe Cates and Willie Aames left little to the imagination in an otherwise humdrum Blue Lagoon knock-off.
Streets of Fire (1984) - Ever hear the song "I Can Dream About You"? That's pretty much the only thing anyone remembers from this bizarre Escape from New York-meets-West Side Story hodge-podge, despite featuring before-they-were-stars performances from Diane Lane, Willem Defoe, and Rick Moranis. (That is, unless you live in Japan, where this movie was popular enough to partially inspire the video games Final Fight and Streets of Rage.)
