It's sad times 'round these parts (yet entertaining!), but, eh, let's go for another shred of positivity.
One of my biggest complaints about TNA is that due to always changing writers, due to change presentation styles, due to tons of factors, they routinely failed over the years to have a real, consistent identity. This is a problem: a brand identity allows a wrestling company to fall back on some tropes, train its fans to expect and respond to certain things, but TNA just never seemed to do it.
So what are some times you look back on and recognize that TNA booked something that wound up right? A big match is often the culmination of a long angle, and there's a feeling to it that doesn't come along every day. You know it when it happens: you tense up and start edging up in your seat, because it's something you've been anticipating for God knows how long.
Let's name a couple here, and I'll start with one that's stuck with me for almost 9 years.
I guess this is our "positive story eulogy" section of TNA's demise, but have at it.

Samoa Joe vs. Scott Steiner. I really thought that Joe's streak was going to end here as this was his first feud outside the X-Division, but they had a good match and Joe prevailed.

TNA f***ed up a lot in 2014 but the one thing they did right was Lashley, who's title matches almost always had something resembling a big match feel during a time where everything in the company seemed minor league just due to the way that he carried himself as a legitimate fighting champion.

Aries/Roode is the first I thought of
THe Angle/AJ/Sting match (which I think also had Hernandez?) where Sting "passed the torch" to AJ I think was big.
Honestly as bad as the angle ended up becoming Anderson/Hardy ended up having a nice build after Anderson's concussion
Team 3D vs Beer Money for 3D's legacy.
Sting/Jarrett from when TNA first got the Spike deal.
Kevin Nash vs Super Blue Cross 2 and Samalian Joe

It may be bias since I was there in the 'LAX section' back in the day. But those matches with AJ/Daniels and LAX were crazy heated and felt importaNT.

Sting vs Kurt Angle, at BFG.
Samoa Joe vs Angle, when Angle first showed up in TNA, had that feeling, but I think it was more the fans that created that sense.

Kurt Angle vs Samoa Joe - Lockdown 2008 Does anyone know who was the person responsible for the booking of Joe/Angle during the buildup of Lockdown 2008? The buildup was great because it felt very UFC-like, making like it was a real fight.

The buildup was great because it felt very UFC-like, making like it was a real fight. Yeah, that was my #2 pick; the decision to have Joe give a reason why he wouldn't be on TV for a few weeks before the PPV (thoroughly committed to training) gave the match a different feeling compared to previous Joe vs. Angle encounters, and despite Joe not being there, they made it clear that his presence was still looming, no matter how much Angle tried to talk him down. Just so well done, and a crime that they didn't follow it up with a really good title run.

Bobby Roode vs. Austin Aries at Destination X 2012. Aries was just what TNA needed and could have saved the company. TNA was so white-hot that summer.

Don't know if anyone else would agree, but I thought Foley/Sting build was good. The match was just alright, but the build had me into it.

I genuinely mourn sometimes that I didn't appreciate the late-2011/most of 2012 hot streak* iMpact had whilst it lasted. *The words "hot steak" may be a bit strong, but yanno what I mean.

Mick Foley interviewing Cactus Jack... him beating Sting down while playing whatever music he wants... God I loved that build, and to be fair, Mick's title reign wasn't much for matches, but for promos? Dynamite.
