BATTLEGROUND PPV, July 27: In the Battleground Pre-Show, the WWE Network (available for just $9.99!) had a huge exclusive match as Randy Orton took on former Shield member Roman Reigns. Triple H came to the ring with his "Face of the WWE" Orton, with both Charlotte and Mr. Money in the Bank Cody Rhodes preparing for their huge matches tonight later. This was countered by Reigns heading to the ring with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose watching his back, giving the powerhouse plenty of backup. In the match itself, Orton tried slowing down Reigns and making him work his match, trying to make Roman look strong while keeping him off-balance. Triple H was out there trying to get involved, but Rollins and Ambrose wouldn't have any of it. Triple H got a Pedigree on the outside on Seth Rollins, which led to things going awry outside the ring. Dean Ambrose attacked Triple H, which had him eat Pedigree for his troubles. Randy Orton tried to look outside, only for Roman Reigns to hit the Superman Punch on Orton- for 2.9999. Reigns fought back and motioned for the Spear, but Orton grabbed Reigns's neck as he tried, spun around, and used Reigns's own momentum for a vicious RKO, sending Reigns down for the big win for Orton. After the match, Orton stood triumphant over Reigns as Triple H hit the ring and shouted " You're all weak! You're nothing! THIS is where you belong!" Triple H hit a Pedigree on Roman Reigns, as Randy Orton tuned up for The Punt... ...just as the Titantron changed over to a giant space motif. A big orange and blue spaceship was seen on the screen, which slowly ran towards the camera and sped right into it, before going black. Just then, Batista's theme hit as the crowd didn't know how to react. Batista rushed into the ring and attacked Randy Orton from behind, then hit a Spinebuster on him as the crowd went wild. Batista then picked Orton up, then hit the Batista Bomb on Orton as the crowd gave a huge cheer. Batista then headed over to Triple H, then put his thumbs up- before taking a mic in one hand. " Hey, Hunter." Instead of putting his thumb on the free finger down, Batista put the thumb across his own throat. " Finger to the throat means death." Batista then hit a Spinebuster on Triple H, then helped Roman Reigns up and raised his hand to the crowd as the Pre-Show ended... In the opening match of the Pay-Per-View, The Ascension took on Yoshi Tatsu and Hideo Itami in an Extreme Rules match. This feud had been going on since The Ascension debuted in the WWE, and when Yoshi Tatsu injured Graves, Konnor and VIktor had a vendetta against Yoshi Tatsu that would not be denied. The Ascension began destroying Yoshi Tatsu in the ring, brutalizing him with every move they could think of, using weapons to keep Yoshi brutalized. Hideo Itami tried desperately to get the tag to his partner, but The Ascension kept Yoshi on the other side of the ring and far away. The two kept up the assault, with Itami helpless to do anything but watch. Yoshi Tatsu got a hot tag in to Itami- but all Itami got for his troubles was Konnor hitting a brutal powerbomb on him through a table. Yoshi Tatsu, in terror, heard Viktor shout " GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAVES!" as The Ascension looked towards Yoshi Tatsu. The Ascension hit a Fall of Man on Yoshi, then picked him up again and hit a second Fall of Man on him. Konnor shouted " NOT ENOUGH!", as Viktor grabbed a steel chair, then put it around Yoshi Tatsu's neck- as the two hit a third Fall of Man on Yoshi Tatsu. Yoshi Tatsu stopped moving, but that wasn't enough as The Ascension grabbed two more steel chairs and wrapped them around Yoshi's ankles, then the two shouted " GRAAAAAAAAAAAAVES!" as they Pillmanized Yoshi, then kept doing it a few more times. Hideo Itami finally stirred, but the damage was done to his partner. Itami tried to check on Yoshi Tatsu, but he only got a Fall of Man for his troubles. The Ascension stomped the three chairs a couple more times to make sure Yoshi Tatsu was finished, then picked Itami up and hit a second Fall of Man on him to get the pinfall. After the match, paramedics tried picking both Itami and Tatsu up, but The Ascension grabbed the board the EMTs strapped Yoshi Tatsu to, strapped it to the ringposts, and both men speared the board. Konnor shouted " YOU HAVE BEEN AVENGED!" as the paramedics and EMTs tried in vain to get Yoshi Tatsu in the ambulance and away from the assault. Following the brutality of the match we just saw, we went to...a flag match, as the Ersatz Russian Alexander Rusev headed to the ring against the Real American Jack Swagger. Lana put her microphone up- but Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter headed through the crowd in full camouflage, a Gadsden flag in Colter's hands, and jumped Rusev from behind to the crowd's cheers. Swagger took the early advantage against Rusev, using all of his amateur skills to punish Rusev relentlessly. Swagger kept the attack going, shouting " WE THE PEOPLE!" to the fans, who exuberantly followed his lead. Lana tried to interfere on Rusev's behalf, but Zeb Colter intervened, then pushed Lana over his knee and started spanking her to the crowd's cheers [and Lana's anger.] In the ring, Swagger locked the Patriot Lock in on Rusev, who tried slowly walking on his hands towards the ropes. Swagger pulled Rusev back to the middle of the ring as the crowd cheered- but Rusev's strength was enough he still walked towards the ropes. Swagger did it a third time, and Rusev still made it to grab the bottom rope. Jack Swagger wouldn't be denied, though, as he kept the hold on. The referee told him to count out, as Swagger shouted "He does the same thing!" towards him. The ref pointed towards the rope, as Swagger shouted " I have until five!" The referee counted to five, but Swagger still refused to break the hold on Rusev- with the referee warning Swagger again, as he still didn't break. The referee called for the disqualification on Swagger, one second before Rusev used the arm not on the ropes to tap out. The crowd booed as Lilian Garcia announced Swagger lost by disqualification, as the Russian flag was sent downwards. Rusev tried getting to a sitting position as Lana tried joining them- but following a playing of the Russian national anthem, Jack Swagger ripped down the Russian flag and shouted " WE THE PEOPLE!" to the fans. WE...THE DIET DEW DRINKERS! The Tag Team Money in the Bank briefcases were on the line. Adrian Neville and Justin Gabriel headed to the ring, high-fiving fans on their way there. Marellions of Dollars then joined them, Santino Marella giving an air trombone as Darren Young did his dance. The two teams then shook hands- just as The Hart Dynasty's theme hit, Natalya following behind the two of them. Tyson Kidd took the mic. "Well, isn't this sweet. Look- it's all well and good if you two teams have an arrangement there, but two teams can't be one briefcase holder. Justin- this didn't have to happen this way- FACT! You could have helped me get that briefcase, but no. You had to forget about your partner, the one who brought you to the dance and kept you viable when you should have been nothing here- FACT! But no, you had to let Darren Young get MY briefcase- and now, you're losing out on all of them, FACT. Me and David Hart Smith are the best tag team there is, the best there was, and better than the best there ever will be- and now, WE'LL be the briefcase holders, and we'll handle those big redneck Wyatt Family members! FACT!" The three walked down to the ring. "Come on, baby, show them who's property you are..." Natalya shrugged, then kissed Tyson Kidd as the crowd cheered...because they saw where this was going, and Santino Marella's Cobra made sure to strike so they'd know damn well how it'd happen. Adrian Neville headed up top and hit the Red Arrow on Kidd, as The Hart Dynasty were eliminated quickly. THE HART DYNASTY ELIMINATED- Adrian Neville pwnd. Tyson Kidd Tyson Kidd shouted and threw a temper tantrum, screaming " I WASN'T READY!" as the crowd booed and chanted " NATTIE'S HUSBAND!" towards him as the match continued. Neville and Santino started fighting, with Neville getting a good advantage on Santino. Neville and Gabriel made constant tags, each man trying to keep Santino at a disadvantage. Neville got Gabriel down, and the two went to the top rope. Just as they did, though, the lights went out as a familiar group were seen on the TitanTron... " ...Tampa.... ...We're here." The Wyatt Family headed down the ramp, the WWE Tag Team Titles around Erick Rowan and Luke Harper's shoulders. Rowan gave the rocking chair to Bray Wyatt as he sat down, the three watching the match. This saved Santino Marella from certain defeat, as the darkness kept Neville and Gabriel from going for their finisher- and gave Marella the chance to tag Darren Young. Young was a house afire, hammering both Neville and Gabriel with vicious rights and lefts, trying to keep going. The Wyatt Family waited as the match got more even. The four attacked each other, no one getting an advantage...but then, the lights went down again as the Titantron changed, and a third figure (recognizable to some fans in the audience as independent standout Necro Butcher) was seen. " Papa....Papa... ...so am I." The lights went back on- as Erick Rowan, Luke Harper, and Butcher (referred to as " Dylan Vachon" by Michael Cole) were in the ring with Bray Wyatt. Rowan threw Adrian Neville to the outside, Luke Harper attacked Justin Gabriel with a vicious sit-out powerbomb, and Vachon hit an Asiatic Spike on Santino Marella. Wyatt then grabbed Darren Young, then hit Sister Abigail on him as the now-larger Wyatt Family stood triumphant over the top of the four briefcase holders. Following this beating, Curtis Axel headed to the ring alone, his manager Paul Heyman having a far bigger match to deal with that night. This led to more of a problem, as Bo Dallas headed into the ring, his Bo-Lievers Aksana, Xavier Woods, and Alex Riley handing out cookies and Bo-Lieve buttons to the fans, as Dallas took the mic. "Curtis Axel, I know tonight you're having some problems. Paul Heyman's busy with Brock Lesnar, and he's the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. And tonight, you couldn't even keep your Intercontinental Championship, you lost it to someone like me- and now you have to fight to get it back, when you've lost to me before! Now, I want you to know, I have no problems with you, and if you think you can beat me this time, it's swell of you to try to do it. But, since it's clear that even Paul Heyman doesn't think you can beat me, you should get more help to be your own man! It's not hard- all you have to do...is BO-LIEVE!" The crowd booed, as the Bo-Lievers chanted " BO!" over it. Axel thought of this- then chose to crack Dallas with a stiff punch to the head as he began attacking the champion. Curtis Axel took the advantage over Dallas, putting on a nice amount of attacks and keeping the champion on his guard. Dallas tried fighting back, but Curtis Axel was able to defend himself against everything Dallas could give to him. Curtis Axel tried for the Perfect-Plex, but Bo Dallas reversed out of it and got the opening he needed. Alex Riley handed something to Dallas, as Dallas put it in his hand. Curtis Axel fought back, and went for the Perfect-Plex, but suddenly broke the hold, a small drop of blood seen on his arm. Bo Dallas took the advantage, hitting the Bo-Dog, as another poke hit Axel as he went down, then covered Axel for the three count. Dallas threw something to the side- as the camera made it clear Dallas took one of his Bo-Lieve buttons and pricked Axel with the pin on the back of it. After the match, Bo Dallas celebrated, the Bo-Lievers joining him and taking the Intercontinental Championship and putting it around his shoulders. The Bo-Lievers got to the outside, followed by Bo Dallas, as the four of them put their hands up and did four victory laps to the crowd, the camera following them as they did some victory laps... {Spoiler}...only for Bo Dallas to be clocked with what looked like a slapjack as he was in the middle of his victory lap! The man who did it jumped the stands- as it turned out to be CJ Parker, carrying his NXT Money in the Bank man-bag. Parker rolled Dallas into the ring, then handed his man-bag to the referee, who called for the bell... "Ladies and gentlemen, CJ Parker is cashing in his NXT Money in the Bank contract!" CJ Parker grabbed Dallas, then hit The Taste on him. Dallas went down, as Parker covered him for the win to give us a new WWE Intercontinental Champion. After the match, Parker celebrated, put the title around his waist, and motioned to the crowd to some mixed boos In a huge battle pitting family against each other, Mr.Money in the Bank Cody Rhodes took on his older brother and former tag team partner Goldust, with the contract of his wife Eden on the line. Goldust grabbed the title belt, then licked it as Cody tried to clock Goldust with it. Goldust grabbed it, then pushed it towards Cody's head as nothing happened. Goldust took the advantage, slowing down the pace and peppering his brother with stiff punches. Cody tried fighting back, using a number of nice attacks to punish his brother. Cody tried for a Disaster Kick, but Goldust dropped to his knees and got a low blow on Cody before he could pull it off. Eden tried to distract Cody or the referee, but it didn't work as well on either of them. Cody tried for a Cross Rhodes, but Goldust easily reversed out of it and kept the attack going. Goldust got him on the ropes, and hit the Shattered Dreams on Cody, but Cody kicked out at 2.9999. Goldust kept the attack going, and went for the kill... ...just as a man in a hoodie took the briefcase and hit Goldust from behind! Cody Rhodes took the advantage, to cover his brother for the win and his wife's managerial services. After the match, Cody stood above Goldust as his benefactor in the hoodie mimicked Cody's own entrance. The crowd gave a chorus of boos to the reveal... ...as they saw Ted DiBiase standing there. Cody Rhodes looked over, then hugged his former Legacy partner as the two stood above Goldust, Cody holding the Money in the Bank briefcase. In the big number one contenders' match, the crowd was unglued with both sides. The women and children in the crowd were unified towards John Cena, while the adult males were unified towards Antonio Cesaro. The two men's utter disgust for each other led to the two not even getting any pleasantries, as John Cena grabbed Cesaro the second he entered the ring and tried for an Attitude Adjustment- but Cesaro easily reversed it into a crucifix pin for a two count. Cesaro took the advantage, trying to dominate Cena with power moves, as Cena kept fighting back and hammering Cesaro with stiffer punches than usual. The two men refused to give any ground to the other. Cesaro hit the Neutralizer on John Cena, but Cena popped right back up from it and shouted " You don't DESERVE that!" towards Cesaro. This led to Cesaro hitting Cena with stiff punches of his own, the match looking less like a wrestling match and more like the two were having a legitimate fight in the middle of 20,000 people. Neither man tried many wrestling holds, both guys instead choosing to brawl with each other. Cena got Cesaro up, then hit an Airplane Spin on him for 25 rotations. Cena then hit the AA on Cesaro, but Cesaro popped right back up from that one, shouting " It's good for you, it's good for me!" towards Cena. This led Cena to start punching Cesaro more stiffly, both guys soon having black eyes in the ring as the two appeared to legitimately hate each other's guts. Cesaro finally got Cena where he wanted him, then locked the Cesaro Swing in on Cena for 26 rotations before dropping Cena, then hitting a second Neutralizer on him near the ropes. Cena's foot barely got underneath the rope, but the referee counted the three to make Antonio Cesaro the number one contender. The men in the crowd went crazy as Cesaro stood triumphant. John Cena looked at him, glared, then begrudgingly said " YOU'D BETTER WIN." as Cesaro nodded his head. In the next match, Divas' Champion Stephanie McMahon led her Championship Committee of Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Eva Marie to the ring to a chorus of boos. Stephanie took the microphone from Lilian Garcia. "The following contest is for the REAL Divas' Money in the Bank briefcase! In the ring, the three greatest Divas in the WWE- aside, of course, from me, your Divas' Champion Stephanie McMahon- my Championship Committee members Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Eva Marie!" Paige's theme hit as Paige headed to the ring, holding the briefcase aloft. "...and the alleged Divas' Money in the bank briefcase holder...come on. It gets in the ring now." Paige glared at Stephanie, as she waited for the attack. "Oh, by the way- I didn't tell it before the match, but as a 3-on-1 handicap match, the Divas' Championship Committee does NOT have to tag in and out!" The three women started ganging up on Paige, each one trying to brutalize the briefcase holder. Stephanie cheered on the three as Paige tried going low and trying to power out of it by throwing haymakers around, as Stephanie shouted " CLOSED FIST! Disqualify it!" as the referee waited. Hearing this, Paige started hitting vicious chops on the girls, chopping Eva Marie and Sasha Banks [while Charlotte was more immune to them] as Stephanie said " DISQUALIFY IT ANYWAY!" Paige finally managed to get out of the attack, finding the weakest link of the three in Eva Marie. Sasha and Charlotte got handled with some vicious kicks, then Paige Irish whipped Sasha, then Charlotte, out of the ring- and then capitalized- hitting a Paige Turner on Eva Marie, then locking the PTO in on her as Eva Marie tapped out. Paige stood triumphant, as Stephanie McMahon shouted "This isn't finished! This match is now an elimination match- she has to defeat all three of them!" Paige shrugged, then kept the attack going- but a 2-on-1 was a lot easier to handle. Of course, the attack of Sasha and Charlotte was still a hard road for any Diva to take. This time, Paige focused her attacks on Charlotte, thinking she was the stronger opponent. Paige grabbed both women, then banged their heads into each other, before keeping up the attack. Sasha got handled with a Paige Turner, keeping her out of the match, then Paige struck on Charlotte with her basically handled. A Paige Turner on Charlotte, then Paige locked in the PTO as Charlotte tapped out. "It's still not over yet! You have to defeat one more woman!" With that happening, Sasha rolled up Paige- and even a referee-demanded fast-count didn't stop Paige from kicking out at 2. Sasha and Paige fought hard, with Sasha trying to be the last line of defense for Paige. Sasha went for the Bankrupt, but Paige blocked it, then went for a second Paige Turner, then locked the PTO to get the victory. After the match, Stephanie McMahon was furious as Paige held up her MITB briefcase. Stephanie shouted "You think you're so smart, don't you Paige? THIS ISN'T OVER!" In the main event, the crowd was excited. The crowd was at a boil as Ryback's theme hit. Ryback headed to the ring, even more serious and intense than he normally would be, the " FEED. ME. BROCK!" chants ringing through the arena. Ryback headed into the ring, then chanted " FEED ME BROCK!" The crowd waited, as Brock Lesnar's theme hit. Brock Lesnar headed to the ring all business, Paul Heyman a step behind him carrying the real WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Lesnar waited, then entered the ring. The two were announced, staring each other down all the while. When the bell rang, the two didn't break eye contact- then Ryback started it, going back and hitting the Meat Hook on Lesnar, then hitting more and more Meat Hooks as he tried to fell Lesnar. Lesnar wavered, nearly toppling, but then grabbed Ryback from his arm, then hit a Northern Lights Suplex on him. EAT. SLEEP. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX- blocked. Ryback started the attack there, trying to lift Lesnar up, but having trouble. Lesnar grabbed Ryback, then easily picked him up and started toying with him with big punches and kicks. EAT. SLEEP. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX- blocked, and this time Ryback got Lesnar up on his shoulder, but Lesnar reversed out easily and hit a German Suplex on Ryback for 2. Lesnar kept up the attack, keeping some more punches and kicks on Ryback, who tried blocking and hitting Lesnar with Meat Hooks. Lesnar got Ryback where he wanted him- EAT. SLEEP. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX-blocked, Ryback got Lesnar up, and Ryback and hit the Shell Shocked on him- but not even bothering waiting for the pinfall, instead trying to get some vicious strikes to keep Lesnar down and keep him wrestling his match. Ryback kept up the attack, only for Lesnar to get back in control. EAT. SLEEP. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX- blocked, Shell Shocked, and this time Ryback tried for the pinfall- but Lesnar got up at 1, then grabbed Ryback for a Russian Neck Drop. Lesnar took the advantage and punished Ryback with more strikes- EAT. SLEEP. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX- BLOCKED. Ryback got Lesnar up for a second Shell Shocked, but before Lesnar could get up, Ryback grabbed him and shouted "FINISH HIM!"- then hit a third Shell Shocked on Lesnar- who got up at 2.99. Lesnar tried fighting back, this time trying to get to Ryback's back as Ryback refused to give him the back. Lesnar tried going low, punishing Ryback with any suplex he could think of that wouldn't play into the Shell Shocked. Finally, Lesnar tried for the killing blow: EAT. SLEEP. F5. REPEAT. F5. REPEAT.F5. REPEAT. F5. REPEAT.F5. REPEAT. F5. REPEAT.F5. REPEAT. F5. REPEAT. Lesnar covered Ryback, finally getting the victory. After the match, Brock Lesnar celebrated, taking the belt back from Paul Heyman- as Antonio Cesaro's theme hit. Cesaro grabbed Lesnar, then got a double-leg takedown on him, then swung Lesnar for 10 rotations before dropping him. The show ended as Cesaro checked on Ryback, then helped him up and allowing Ryback to leave the ring under his own power, chanting " FEED ME MORE!" to the fans on the way. RAW, July 28. Raw started out in a big way, as Antonio Cesaro came to the ring, the mixed reaction still happening with the kids and adult women booing him hoarse, the adult men cheering him. Cesaro said that when Brock Lesnar became the first man to ever call his Money in the Bank shot in before winning it, and still managed to win it- he knew that he let some people down- and maybe some people can't get over that, but he knew- Randy Orton was a tough competitor in his own right, and adding Brock Lesnar to the mix after the match made things worse. But there is the difference- Brock Lesnar showed Cesaro what he has to deal with. Brock Lesnar is a dominant man. He is the greatest fighter in the world today. He's stopped Triple H, he's stopped The Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak...he even stopped John Cena (as Cesaro smirked, and the crowd kept their loud mixed reaction going.) But last night, Br -ABBADOO!, as John Cena's music hit as he headed to the ring while Cesaro was talking, and the " Do you mind? I don't interrupt you while you're talking..." made it seem more like it was legit- as well as the "Waaah I don't intewwupt oo while oo're tawking..." by Cena responded. Cena claimed that if you call him out like that, you GET him, and Cesaro had better not pull that on him. Cena claimed that, yeah, Brock Lesnar beat him badly- but he STILL beat Lesnar, because that's what a REAL MAN could do, not some two-bit Swiss Miss like you. Cesaro smirked, and said " this Swiss Miss beat your ass clean as a sheet last night at Battleground, so what does that make you?" Cena got furious, and said if Cesaro DID beat him clean, he'd agree- but look at the tape. Footage of Battleground aired, where Cena's foot was barely under the ropes during the pinfall. Cena claimed that he knew Cesaro was a crybaby, an Authority member, a Paul Heyman Guy, and that he turned his back on the WWE Universe, but now Cesaro's also a cheater. John Cena beat Brock Lesnar, even in the beating of his life, like a REAL MAN would. And if Cesaro was a real man- so, he knows it's not likely to happen- Cesaro would respect that this match was won by cheating and give Cena a rematch for that shot at Brock Lesnar at Summerslam- if not give Cena the match right now so that the match won't be someone Paul Heyman orders to lay down for Lesnar. This brought out Paul Heyman, the replica WWE World Heavyweight Title being carried, as Heyman claimed that these two can stop quarreling. See, his client, Brock Lesnar, doesn't care who faces him at Summerslam. If Cesaro is suicidal enough to keep the match, if John Cena hates life enough to want to commit suicide like Ryback did last night, both of them can fight Brock Lesnar. Heck, the entire WWE roster can come fight Brock Lesnar...if they had to, every person in this arena, every person in the WWE Universe, every man, woman, child, and well-trained animal on the face of the earth could come to the ring at Summerslam, and his client, Brock Lesnar, would STILL defeat ALL of them one by one without breaking a sweat! Cesaro smirked, then said that last night didn't prove it. Ryback had a gameplan, and it nearly worked. Brock Lesnar went into that match with Ryback, and he won the match- but he went into it a god, and Ryback made him a man. And I like my chances against a man- as Cena said " waaah I could beated Bwock Wesnar too weawwy!"...and Cesaro countered with " Well, stop crying, Cena, you had your chance last night and you blew it!" as the adult males exploded! This brought out Triple H, who looked at all three of the men. Triple H said that, even if the fans don't like hearing it, Triple H is all about what's best for business. And right now, Brock Lesnar as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, not showing up every week- is not what's best for business. But the match last night was made- and it's out there. Antonio Cesaro WILL fight Brock Lesnar at Summerslam for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship- even if Cena claims a centimeter of his foot was under the ropes, there will be no rematch between Cesaro and Cena for the number one contendership. The kids and women booed as Triple H continued to say, if Cena wants a big match so badly, though, he is a fair man and Triple H will do what's best for business. If Cena wants in Cesaro/Lesnar so badly, then at Summerslam, you will get a match with a worthy competitor, and the winner of that match will be the special guest referee of Cesaro/Lesnar at Summerslam. Cena asked who it'd be, and Triple H said he needs to check the rankings, but you'll find out tonight. In the first matchup, new Intercontinental Champion CJ Parker defended the title he cashed in his NXT Money in the Bank to receive against Curtis Axel, the challenger last night at Battleground. CJ Parker kept a makeshift, new "purse" as the crowd booed, with Parker saying that he understands their concern, and he did make sure to demand that the WWE replace the leather strap on his title belt with a more ecologically friendly vegan strap, to help save the earth. Axel attacked Parker after his spiel, trying to keep the greener opponent going throughout the match. Axel tried fighting back, only for a blonde woman to jump the barricade and distract the referee. Curtis Axel, however, was also displeased by this, as CJ Parker was able to roll up Axel, then got his feet on the ropes to lock up the win. After the match, Axel argued with the blonde woman (saying the name " Amy, I can't take you anywhere!") as Parker celebrated. The Exotic Express was in full force, as Adam Rose and his party partner JTG took on Adrian Neville and Tag Team Money in the Bank holder Justin Gabriel. Gabriel and Neville took out JTG early in the match, as Justin Gabriel and Adam Rose spent most of the match fighting. The two seemed to know each other's moves before the other could do it. Gabriel went for the 450, but Rose put his knees up, leaving Gabriel hurt. Rose took the attack, then went for the Party Foul, but Gabriel got out at 2.999. Gabriel fought back and tagged Adrian Neville, who went to town on Rose. Neville tagged Gabriel in, then the two hit the Red Arrow/450 Splash on Adam Rose for the victory. After the match, Adam Rose stood up- as Justin Gabriel shook hands with him, then hugged him as the two raised each other's hands to the crowd. Adam Rose handed a set of keys to JTG as the show went to break. ...Adam Rose talked about how he had spent his youth growing up in South Africa, dreaming of the day he could be a WWE superstar. He spent his life trying to be a star throughout his continent, making a name for himself, and finally he made it to sign with WWE throughout NXT. He spent his life going through the NXT for years, and finally he made it to the WWE main roster. He had spent so much time making it to the top of his mountain, that it ended up taking everything he had to make it here, and now he had nothing left. Now, he is fine with going back to South Africa, having reached his pinnacle, and now he's reached his limit. He's retiring from pro wrestling, and he's returning home. Back on TV...Evolution came out to the ring. Triple H said that Evolution was more than just a stable, it was a family. When Evolution is together, they're unstoppable. Last night, on the WWE Network, available for just $9.99!, Batista proved he was blinded by Hollywood. He got in one pretty big movie, and all of a sudden Batista thought he was bigger than his family. It was Triple H who made him a star in Evolution, Triple H who brought him back in January and let him be a star again, and Triple H who re-hired him in secret after he was forced to be fired two months ago by a match stipulation- and THIS is how Batista repaid him. Batista was his creation, and now, he will put him to sleep like some common raccoon he'd choose over his family. Randy Orton took the mic and said that Evolution is a family- and now, they're stronger than ever. His protege, Cody Rhodes, had come back to the fold and already become Mr. Money in the Bank- and now, his other protege has returned home. This brought out Ted DiBiase, who shook Triple H's hand and hugged Orton and Cody. Cody Rhodes said that finally, Evolution and Legacy are the family they always should have been. Welcome home, Ted. Ted DiBiase said he had learned from Randy Orton, and now he was ready to be the champion he knew he could be at Triple H's feet, and he was proud to follow him and be as great as Cody Rhodes had become. Cody said he was happy that not only did he have his briefcase, he brought the family back to the WWE- announcing his new manager, the newest jewel in Evolution, his loving wife Eden. Eden came out- still in her outfit with Goldust, wary of Cody. Cody said now, she'll finally have the life she deserves, as Triple H said for Eden to go with the Divas' Championship Committee and become a proper lady, not some two-bit Goldust wannabe tramp. Eden was dragged off by Charlotte as Triple H finished by saying Evolution was a family- and if a member of the family goes rogue, then it's the family's duty to put them down. Bo Dallas, fresh off losing his Intercontinental Championship, tried to rally his Bo-Lievers back to his side by putting out an open challenge to show he was still great, he could win the Intercontinental Title back in a fair fight, and if you Bo-Lieve, you can do anything. Since open challenges with that motivation never end well, I'll just save you the trouble of having to deal with this, as Antonio Cesaro came out. Bo Dallas tried to see if Cesaro Bo-Lieved he could beat Brock Lesnar at Summerslam. 23 rotations later...if Cesaro doesn't Bo-Lieve, he did a pretty good job of hiding it. Cesaro got an easy win, as the Bo-Lievers rallied to Dallas's aid. In a WWE Tag Team Championship match, The Wyatt Family took on Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, formerly of The Shield. Bray Wyatt and Dylan Vachon were watching the backs of the other members, which helped if Roman Reigns tried anything. Meanwhile, backstage, Darren Young walked into Justin Gabriel's dressing room as Adrian Neville and Santino Marella watched the match at ringside. In the ring, The Wyatt Family became more and more dominant, taking down the two of them. Seth Rollins tried fighting back, but Rowan and Harper got the advantage. Rowan sent Rollins to the outside, where Dylan Vachon set up two chairs, only for Bray Wyatt to hit Sister Abigail onto Rollins on the chairs. There was nothing left but the crying, as Rollins was KOed for a countout loss. After the match, Neville and Marella exchanged words with each other, then went backstage. In the ring, Lana and Alexander Rusev gloated about Jack Swagger's loss last night- and while he may have had all of his might, and the alleged might of America behind him, a strong Russian man could withstand the assault until he got his win. This was the great power only a man like Vladimir Putin could have, and given flesh by the skill of Rusev. Tonight, another American would fall to the might of Mother Russia. That brought out Zack Ryder...hey, remember how Ryder seemed to have made it back out of jobbing to Rusev? That was nice while it lasted. Rusev destroyed Long Island Iced Z, made him humble, woo woo woo, Rusev wins. Rusev celebrated as a flag was unfurled- only to see a Gadsden flag fall instead. The TitanTron came on as Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger said that Rusev won a BATTLE last night, but a Real American will lose a battle without fear, because they'll know they will win the war. Maybe it won't be today, maybe it won't be tomorrow- but Swagger vows on the flag of the United States of America that Rusev will lose his undefeated streak to Jack Swagger. Anyone who agrees, say in a clear and crisp voice, WE THE PEOPLE! Now firmly holding her Divas' Money in the Bank briefcase, Paige took on Brie Bella in a match. Brie and Paige had a lot of respect for each other, putting on a very good match as the crowd started to get excited by it. Brie tried using a few of the holds her husband Daniel Bryan made famous, getting the crowd to give some " YES!" chants as it occurred. Paige, in her defense, was able to counter many holds, taking the advantage on Brie. Paige locked in the PTO on Brie Bella, getting her to tap out. After the match- Paige held aloft her briefcase to the fans- as Stephanie McMahon headed to the ring, the Divas' Championship Committee of Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Eva Marie (Eden following behind Charlotte). Stephanie McMahon congratulated Paige about her win at Battleground to keep her Divas' Money in the Bank briefcase. However, as Money in the Bank holder, Stephanie wanted to inform Paige that even if she's Money in the Bank briefcase holder, the Money in the Bank briefcase is still subject to all rules of the Divas' Championship Committee- and, as the head of the Championship Committee, Stephanie McMahon has control over all contracts for Divas' matches- both non-title and title...and that includes the Money in the Bank briefcase. The crowd booed, as Stephanie McMahon claimed this is proof every fan in this arena is a misogynist. Stephanie McMahon is the perfect female- a great wrestler, a great businesswoman, a great wife and mother...and all Stephanie has ever wanted is to be a role model to the Divas and help them come close to having it all like Stephanie does. Paige should be THANKING me- instead of getting the right to steal a title belt like that worthless hippie CJ Parker did last night, Paige won something better than that- the right to fight Stephanie McMahon, on Stephanie's terms, when Stephanie McMahon- NOT Paige- deigns to give her a title match...and since Stephanie is such a good businesswoman that, even though her husband Triple H made the Divas' Money in the Bank match under protest by the Divas' Championship Committee, she is still honoring this contract Triple H made under false pretenses and giving this deserving Diva a shot at Stephanie McMahon's Divas' Championship. And now, Paige has won her Money in the Bank contract- and the Divas' Championship Committee will inform Paige when she is allowed to cash in her Money in the Bank title shot. In the main event, we had six-man tag Team action as Evolution...or, at least, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase, the Evolution members formerly known as Legacy, took on John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Goldust. The match gave it an almost puro feel...if only the two important members of each team and the guy clearly there to take the pinfall. Despite this, it didn't seem like it, as Ted DiBiase looked like he hadn't missed a beat in his time away from the WWE, and Cody Rhodes was reeling at the attack of Goldust. Tags were made, as Roman Reigns looked strong all over the three of them- which was countered by Randy Orton slowing Reigns down. Reigns made the tag into John Cena, who fought back on Orton. Cena went for an Airplane Spin for 7 rotations- but Triple H hit a chop block on Cena while he did it, as Orton was able to reverse to a crucifix and get the pinfall on Cena. After the match, Triple H stood over Cena and said that it's been decided- at Summerslam, when Cena fights to be the special referee of Lesnar/Cesaro...his opponent will be Triple H!

SMACKDOWN, August 1.
Smackdown opened up with a big United States Title match as Curtis Axel tried to get the belt from Fandango. In the ringside area, a semi-familiar looking woman was seen sitting next to the woman who helped Axel on Monday, who Josh Mathews said was Curtis Axel's sister Amy. In the ring, Fandango had taken the advantage on Axel, who seemed to be caught between making sure his sister stayed in line and fighting for the title. Axel tried fighting back as his sister cheered, but this only led to Axel being more and more distracted. This helped Fandango get the advantage, finally hitting the Diving Legdrop on Axel for the victory. After the match, Curtis Axel was furious and began attacking Fandango relentlessly, as Amy Axel joined in for the attack- only for the woman next to her to pull Amy away. Fandango looked towards the woman- only to realize it was his original dance partner returning to his side. The two started dancing in the ring together as the crowd was unsure how to react.
In the ring, Zack Ryder headed out and talked about how losing the United States Title was just a minor setback. He's finally back in his right mind, and no losses are going to stop him now. There's a new era of the WWE, and Zack Ryder is finally THE Broski of this company- and the United States Title won't be enough- Zack Ryder's ready to go for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship...as Enzo Amore and The Big O whispered, and Ryder backtracked, saying he's not insane, he's not going after Brock Lesnar...but Ryder's still ready to enter the big time and fight some real competition, to be the main event player all his Broskis want him to be. ...and if you ask for real competition, you GET real competition, as Batista showed up to the crowd's cheers and beat Ryder into a gooey paste. Spinebuster, Batista Bomb, Zack Ryder...kicks out at 2? Ryder keeps fighting back, trying to punish Batista with everything he had, as Enzo Amore and The Big O tried to help their broski...only for the same problems to occur. Zack Ryder hit the Rough Ryder, then went for the Broski Boot- but Batista picked him up for a Spinebuster. A second Batista Bomb happened, as Ryder was put away. After the match, Batista posed for the fans- as Evolution came to the ring. Triple H said that this was proof Hollywood made Batista soft. Once, Batista was The Animal, the most dominant monster in this business- and now he's actually struggling to defeat Zack Ryder? This isn't making Batista look bad, it's making Triple H look bad as a businessman. He hired Batista because he thought that the Animal, one of his best proteges, the former World Champion, the man who could be as dominant in mixed martial arts competitions as he is in the wrestling world, the star of Guardians of the Galaxy, was truly best for business. He gave Batista everything, and all he got in return was someone who the fans despised every bit of. He thought they were being contrary like they always were...but as time went on, Triple H got the unsavory realization those fans were right about Batista. He's gone soft, he's lost what made him The Animal. For the first time in Triple H's career...he undeniably, unequivocally backed a lemon. He put his neck out for Batista- and all he got was a mistake. Batista is a bust, he's a failure, he can't hack it anymore. Hollywood's made Batista soft...and now, Evolution has truly passed him by. If Triple H has to get a two-bit movie star instead of The Animal...well, maybe this Animal has to go the way of Old Yeller.
Marellions of Dollars had a big title option, taking on Luke Harper and Dylan Vachon of The Wyatt Family. Any hopes of a title change were dashed, as The Wyatt Family's titles were not defended on Freebird Rules. This was probably a good thing for the non-champs, as Luke Harper and Dylan Vachon meshed very well as a team, brutalizing Santino Marella and Darren Young with a number of vicious moves. If they thought their friends could help, that was dashed as well, as Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan were seen brutalizing Adrian Neville and Justin Gabriel. Harper and Vachon got the attack going, with a Asiatic Spike to Santino Marella getting the two Wyatts the win. the Wyatt Family kept up an assault, only for a big No sign to show up on the TitanTron as a siren aired, with underneath a message showing up:
Backstage, the partygoers at the Exotic Express were happily continuing the party, as JTG looked downwards while it happened. The Bunny patted JTG's shoulder- as Bo Dallas headed towards him. Dallas said that he knows that JTG's having a hard time now that his tag team partner abruptly retired, and that's a hard problem for anyone. Dallas knows what it's like- he felt bad when he lost his Intercontinental Championship by an unfair Money in the Bank cash-in, and even if JTG's never held a title belt and wouldn't know how hard it was, it's close. JTG glared at Dallas, who said he shouldn't focus on the past. Losing Adam Rose as a partner isn't the end for JTG, it's a lucky thing that he's given JTG a new beginning, and now there's nothing but a future for JTG. All JTG has to do is Bo-Lieve. JTG looked towards him as the partiers continued, with JTG merely saying he'd think about it. This tied into a match, as Bo Dallas took on Antonio Cesaro in a rematch from Raw. The Bo-Lievers kept Dallas's spirits up as he fought the number one contender- but this rematch ended up the same as it did on Raw, with a 20-rotation swing taking Dallas down. After the match, JTG headed to the ring to Dallas's side...then said "Thought about it...uh, NO!", then cracked Dallas with a vicious shot, sending him down.
In singles action. Paige was forced to take on Nikki Bella after her winover Brie Bella on Raw. The Fearless twin sister had tried to put on an equal attack against Paige, but Paige was more than able to take control over Nikki as much as she could take control on Brie on Raw. The match was relatively quick, as Paige managed the Paige Turner on Nikki for the big win. After the match,Divas' Champion Stephanie McMahon came to the ring and said that on Raw, there will be an important announcement about the Divas' Money in the Bank briefcase, and that Paige will get told more details about her Money in the Bank contract.
In the main event, Alexander Rusev took on the biggest challenge he had to date in Ryback. Coming off his loss at Battleground, Ryback seemed to be injured from the might of Brock Lesnar, and his usual explosive power wasn't there. Ryback second-guessed himself a number of times, not even trying to use the Meat Hook or Shell Shocked. Rusev, to his benefit, was able to strike easily on Da Big Guy, using his own ruthlessness to exploit this moment of weakness. Rusev locked Ryback in the Accolade, humbled him, and Ryback was another big scalp to be sent to Vladimir Putin. Rusev stood triumphant, a Russian Flag being unfurled, as Smackdown ended...

RAW, August 4.
Raw started off with a wrestling clinic, as Tyson Kidd took on the architect of the former Shield in Seth Rollins. The two put on an amazing match, with Kidd trying to keep an advantage on Rollins with all the skills he learned in the Dungeon. Natalya had been at ringside, unimpressed by Kidd's attacks- but Seth Rollins's gloating about her led to Kidd getting an advantage (even if the "Nattie's Husband!" chants started up.) Rollins took the advantage on Kidd- but David Hart Smith threw Kidd's headphones into him. Kidd put them in his hand and got a more stiff shot, taking Rollins down. Kidd put the headphones on and covered him for the three count. After the match, Kidd celebrated to the fans, as Roman Reigns came to save his friend with a big spear on Kidd.
In six-man tag action, The Wyatt Family's tag team champions Erick Rowan and Luke Harper teamed with newest Wyatt Family member Dylan Vachon to take on 3MB. Bray Wyatt was out there to shout moral support to his followers...but really, Wyatt didn't even need to bother, as the dominance of the three was more than able to dominate the 3MB members. Vachon got an advantage, setting up some chairs and hitting the Choose Death on Jinder Mahal for the dominant victory. After the match, The Wyatt Family celebrated- as Heath Slater took a microphone. He said that when 3MB formed, they were supposed to merge the power of rock music and the power of pro wrestling. Heath Slater's more than just some joke- he's a One Man Band, Bay-Bay!, and he is better than just being a joke. That's why, he wanted to announce to all the fans of 3MB that he's sorry for how bad things have gone for them musically, professionally, and as wrestlers- and in order to give the 3MB fans throughout the world the best band he can, he felt it's time for him to go in a new direction with the sound of 3MB- so he needs better musicians to give 3MB a new sound...and that means Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal are out of the band. McIntyre and Mahal were furious- and showed Heath Slater just how furious as they each attacked, with a Future Shock DDT followed by a Camel Clutch as Heath Slater was left lying. McIntyre and Mahal shook hands and left to McIntyre's classic theme, to the crowd's cheers.
In a match sold as for the very Exotic Express itself, JTG took on Bo Dallas. The Exotic Express's revellers (including The Bunny, a lemon, a pixie, and a man in a luchador mask) were backing JTG, while the Bo-Lievers kept handing out cookies and Bo-Lieve buttons to the crowd. In the ring, JTG fought with some genuine anger, trying to make a name for himself on his own for the first time. Bo Dallas, however, countered with his own skill, managing to counter most of JTG's attacks whenever it was possible. JTG took the advantage on Dallas- but the reveller in the Luchador mask cracked JTG with a chair. Bo Dallas hit the Bo-Dog on JTG, getting the win and taking the Exotic Express tour bus. JTG looked at the revellers as the man in the luchador mask unmasked- revealing Essa Rios (to a complete and utter lack of recognition by most of the fans and a "...what?" by those who did.) Essa Rios headed to Dallas, and said in broken English, "I Bo-Lieve!." Bo Dallas took the keys from JTG, as he, the group of Bo-Lievers, and all the revellers were rushed back to the Exotic Express bus as Bo Dallas drove it off.
In a tag team match, the team of Sin Cara and El Abejorro were in the ring waiting for their opponents (as the announcers called them the "Lucha Dragons"...apparently giving the two a name.) The Vaudevillains' entrance then hit, as Aiden English and Simon Gotch headed to the ring as the crowd began an attack. Sin Cara and El Abejorro seemed a little out of it, but the Vaudevillains just struck for this and began attacking the Lucha Dragons relentlessly. A Curtain Call by Aiden English, and The Vaudevillains got the big win. After the match, the Vaudevillains celebrated, with Simon Gotch lifting the ropes comedically for his partner as they left the ring.
Batista headed to the ring and took the mic. He said since he returned to the WWE, he's made a lot of mistakes that he won't apologize for- but he's made some mistakes he could apologize for. And the biggest mistake he made was going back to Evolution the first time the fans wanted to boo him. Batista will never apologize for trying to win a match and not curling up and letting someone else win just because the fans want it more- but he can apologize for actually being willing to hang out with people like Triple H and Randy Orton when he knew the two of them were a couple of a**holes. And now, he's going to show the fans he's apologizing for this by destroying Evolution and The Authority for good. This brought out Triple H, who laughed at the thought that a bust like Batista could ever destroy The Authority...but if he really thinks he can, he'll sweeten the pot. For the next few weeks, Batista will fight every male member of Evolution in singles matches. You beat every one of them, at Night of Champions, he'll get a match with Triple H. He beats Triple H- the Authority will leave power- but if Batista loses one match against them, then Batista will be fired and be sent back to Hollywood to hug trees or whatever it is he did there. Batista put his finger to his throat, then said "Finger to the throat means death" to Triple H.
In tag team action, Zack Ryder teamed with one of his Broskis, Enzo Amore, to take on Marellions of Dollars. The two Broskis had less experience teaming together, and it showed as Santino Marella and Darren Young managed to feast on the two's ability. As this occurred, Adrian Neville walked to ringside and watched the match, but he didn't show up and do much of anything. Ryder took an advantage, finished as The Big O and Mike Chiappetta helped him take the advantage. Ryder finally hit the Rough Ryder on Santino, getting the big victory. After the match, Neville walked to Darren Young and talked to him, as Young nodded as the three walked off... into another debut video for The Legionnaires.
Divas' Tag Team action happened, as Divas' Championship Committee members Sasha Banks and Eva Marie took on The Bella Twins. Paige was seen on commentary, talking about how the Bella Twins have become good friends with her recently, but the Divas' Championship Committee members didn't know what they were thinking when they joined Stephanie McMahon (as JBL shouted her down and said 'you go where the power is, Stephanie has all the power!') The Bellas took an easy advantage on the Diva's Committee members, punishing the two with relentless chops and strikes. Sasha Banks tried to fight back, but the Bellas soon left her overpowered. A tag in to Eva Marie hurt things more, as the Bella Twins had her destroyed. Brie Bella locked in the YES! Lock, as Eva Marie tapped out. After the match, the Bella Twins celebrated- as Divas' Champion Stephanie McMahon came to the ring and said that, for a clear illegal chokehold, the match result has been reversed (as the crowd booed.) Stephanie then turned her attention to Paige, as Stephanie announced the Divas' Championship Committee has met over the weekend, and they have made a ruling about the Divas' Money in the Bank briefcase, which Stephanie was forced to accept under protest by Triple H overruling the Divas' Championship Committee. From the decision, the Divas' Money in the Bank briefcase is both not valid until, AND will expire at, Summerslam- therefore, if Paige wants to cash in her briefcase, she must cash in at Summerslam or her briefcase will be null and void. Stephanie is willing to meet with Paige so that the terms of her Divas' Championship match will be made (as Paige glared at Stephanie, then nodded and said "Bring it on!"
In the main event, John Cena got a fight with Antonio Cesaro. The number one contendership to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship was not on the line, but Paul Heyman was there, holding the replica WWE World Heavyweight Championship to represent Brock Lesnar. In the ring, Cena and Cesaro kept attacking, each guy stiffing the other with vicious strikes. The two tore into each other similar to their Battleground match, seeming like it was less like a match and more like a fight. Cesaro took the advantage and went for a Cesaro swing, but Cena dead-weighted and wouldn't go up for it, then tried reversing to a rollup for 2 as Cesaro tried forcing it. Cena tried picking up Cesaro, but Cesaro dead-weighted himself, as the two got in an argument, continuing to throw stiff haymakers at each other. Cena grabbed Cesaro and went for an AA, then locked the STF in and wouldn't break the hold when Cesaro got the ropes until 4.999. With Cesaro hurt, Cena got two more AAs, then got a pinfall as Cesaro's foot was under the ropes for the win. After the match, Cesaro motioned to the rope as Cena said "waaah my foot was on the wopes waaah", leading to Cesaro doing the same thing as the two started brawling to the back. Raw ended with Heyman saying that if this is how Cesaro and Cena will act, Brock Lesnar wouldn't have to worry about destroying either one.

SMACKDOWN, August 8.
Smackdown started with a bang, with one of the biggest matches possible- Batista facing off with John Cena. Triple H was at ringside as he talked about how he wanted both Batista and John Cena to kill each other before Summerslam, that way Batista ends up out of his hair for good and he gets to do what's best for business in the Brock Lesnar/Antonio Cesaro match. Triple H talked about how he knew that Batista and Cena were good friends, but business needs to evolve- that's what Evolution has always been about. He was at the top of his game, he led Randy Orton to become the best in the business like he was- and soon, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, and Charlotte will eventually become the best in the business in turn- and soon, they'll be able to find the next great superstars somewhere to develop in turn. Batista and John Cena refuse to evolve with the business, and now they must perish in favor of a new era. The match was hard-fought between the two old rivals, who knew each other better than they knew themselves. However , their fight ended as Evolution jumped the two. Batista and John Cena put aside their fight and started fighting Rhodes, DiBiase, and Orton- then shook hands and raised each other's hands to the crowd.
After the match, a Behind the Music-like video aired as Renee Young held up some pieces of paper with different words on them. Heath Slater took the pages, then talked about the subject on the paper, interspersed with Slater rehearsing various wrestling legends (Honky Tonk Man, PN News, and The Maestro were seen) and members of WWE-friendly music acts (with Snoop Dogg, the members of Florida Georgia Line...and Flo Rida punking Slater out again and walking off), then shaking his head. Slater said he was making his way to the top of the charts as a One Man Band, Baybay!, but he felt his music needed more depth to it. He thought Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal could give him that depth, but they just held his sound back. Now, he's ready to remake the sound of 3MB, and on Monday he'll debut a far more incredible sound for the band. This tied into a match, as Slater took on Hideo Itami, himself trying to reform his own style as a singles wrestler following Yoshi Tatsu's injury against The Ascension. Puro fans everywhere wept, however, as this match was primarily a showcase for Heath Slater's own offense and skills, with Hideo Itami merely stiffing Slater (as wrestling fans cheered, and Slater sold them like death.) However, a Smash Hit on Itami gave Heath Slater a much-needed win.
Lana, the woman in a suit who promotes awareness of Vladimir Putin, and her client Alexander Rusev came to the ring. Lana talked about how dominant Rusev has been, and how the vows that Jack Swagger has made to destroy Rusev's undefeated streak are the same empty threats that all of America gives to the rest of the world. True Russian powers like Vladimir Putin don't make threats, they make promises- and Rusev promises to destroy Jack Swagger and put the hopes of America out of people's heads for good. This led to a big challenge for Rusev, as he took on the Architect of the former Shield, Seth Rollins. Rollins fought hard without his friends to help him, but all Rollins was able to do was suffer beautifully at the hands of Rusev. An Accolade was put in, and Rollins was another person humbled by the might of Rusev.
The Wyatt Family headed down the ramp, their entrance getting a chorus of boos as Bray Wyatt took his place in his rocking chair, Dylan Vachon and WWE Tag Team Champions Erick Rowan and Luke Harper heading to the ring. This changed as a chorus happened, and Bible-themed songs (resang to be about Bo Dallas) kept playing as the Exotic Express drove in, a huge BO-LIEVE! sign painted on it. The partiers all came out in nicer clothes, singing and chanting as the Bo-Lievers headed out to the ring, Bo-Lievers Alex Riley, Xavier Woods, and Essa Rios heading to the ring. This...was not exactly a good thing for the Bo-Lievers, as their Bo-Lief didn't change that the Wyatt Family was dominant. Powerbomb, Sit-Out Powerbomb, Choose Death, and The Wyatt Family got a win. This led Bo Dallas to come out and say that, even if they got beaten badly, they didn't stop Bo-Lieving, and that makes them real winners in life. And now, he's going to show them how to win in the ring too after the break...which had a match with Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler fought hard, but Bo Dallas was in control over the reeling Ziggler. Ziggler could fight back, though, using a number of vicious assaults. Ziggler hit the ZigZag on Dallas, but Dallas kicked out. Ziggler sold Dallas's assaults badly, trying to punish Dallas- but suddenly, another person came out of the Bo-Liever bus (as the crowd gave some recognition pops before Josh Mathews and JBL could confirm that yes, Elijah Burke has returned to the WWE)- and the Elijah Express managed to help before the Bo-Dog happened. After the match, the whole array of Bo-Lievers and former partiers did a victory lap with Dallas, then headed back to the bus...as a video for the Legionnaires started.
In Divas' action, Ms. Money in the Bank Paige took on Evolution's Diva Charlotte. The match was far higher in quality than most Divas' fare, with both women tearing into each other with some amazing moves. Charlotte took the advantage, using some incredible attacks to try and take her rival down, countered with a series of chops that only looked more vicious against Paige. Paige, however, was more than able to fight back, stretching Charlotte with a number of assaults. Paige went for the PTO, but Charlotte got Paige down and went for the Figure Four Leglock, where Stephanie McMahon said to ring the bell to the crowd's boos. Charlotte celebrated as Paige glared at Stephanie and yelled "Summerslam!" towards her.
In the main event, Ryback tried to get out of his funk against the Lunatic Fringe of the former Shield members, Dean Ambrose. Ryback kept up trying to overpower Ambrose, but he still clearly wasn't in his right mind after his beating by Brock Lesnar (as Josh Mathews paid notice to it- and JBL said this was why Ryback couldn't get over the hump if he lets big losses get to him.) Ambrose's unpredictability got him the advantage, soon getting Ryback into a place where he couldn't even fathom what his opponent would do. Ambrose got Dirty Deeds, and got the big victory. After the match, Ryback looked downwards. Ambrose tried to put a hand out to him, but Ryback was in no shape to accept Ambrose's sportsmanship.

RAW, August 11.
RAW started off with a big match, as Batista had the first match in the challenge Triple H gave him last week against Evolution. The opponent this week was Evolution's newest member, Ted DiBiase. DiBiase fought to show he had a place in Evolution, but Batista was in a whole different league from DiBiase, brutalizing the man with punishing power moves. Spinebuster, Batista Bomb, and this match was all over. After the match, Batista put four fingers up, dropped one, then put the other three fingers to his throat to the crowd's cheers.
In the ring, Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal were posing for the crowd and waiting for Heath Slater. Just then, however, the lights went down as Heath Slater was in shadows. Slater said for too long, there had been just a one man band, bay-bay. For too long, he ignored the greatness of pure rock, and his career has suffered as a result. But now, he has found all the greatness of rock, and now 3MB has become bigger- 3 men, one woman, All Rock. This led to Slater showing up, the introducing his new bandmates- the King of Rock and Roll revived...as Domino showed up, now acting more like an Elvis impersonator, and took his side. The Eastern master of Visual Kei- as Jimmy Yang showed up next to them, and their new lead singer, the sexy, dark princess of 3MB- as Ariel showed up with the three...and the crowd went mild. And after this, we had a low-card match, but the reveal took up most of the time for it...which was fine- even if Domino or Jimmy Yang may or may not be able to rock, they were enough to take out Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal. Yang Time hit on Mahal, and the new 3MB won.
In the ring, Zack Ryder was alongside his Four Broskis and talking about how he has had some bad luck recently, he knows, but he knows he'll get back his United States Championship and be back again. He won't be kept down anymore, he won't fall back down again. He wanted to prove it and would challenge anyone as the first victim on his road to redemption...yeah, why DO wrestlers keep DOING that recently, it never works out for them. But, Ryder doesn't listen to me, and now Roman Reigns is out here to prove it. Spear, Superman Punch, and Roman Reigns looks strong all over Zack Ryder. Maybe next time you'll learn something, Ryder.
In singles action for two tag team specialists, Ascension member Viktor took on Adrian Neville. Neville was far more trained in singles matches, between his luck in the run to Money in the Bank and his NXT Championship run- but Viktor, is an Ascension member- and as such can kick copious amounts of ass. Neville took the advantage, however, and started dominating Viktor. Neville went up to the top rope and went for the Red Arrow...as the lights turned out, and apparently Bray Wyatt is here. The lights turned on, as Adrian Neville was lying broken in the ring, Viktor didn't look a gift Southern Gothic swamp cult in the eye, getting the cover for the victory. After the match, The Wyatt Family stood triumphant, as Justin Gabriel and Marellions of Dollars came to the ring. Darren Young said that if the Wyatt Family want a fight- that's great. Young and Gabriel talked over the last week, they cleared it with WWE staff- and at Summerslam, Young and Gabriel have agreed to cash in their Money in the Bank tag team briefcases for a triple threat match for the Tag Team Titles. The three men helped Neville out as a video for The Legionnaires aired.
A tail of two fortunes showed up, as the slumping Ryback took on the Intercontinental Champion CJ Parker. The crowd got on Parker, both for his message and his "purse", but he seemed like he was better for an opponent for Ryback to get him out of the funk he'd been in since losing to Brock Lesnar. However, when CJ Parker put the Intercontinental Title on the line, that seemed like mistake number one for Parker...and Ryback attacking him seemed to give credence to it. However, what Parker lacked in dominance, he made up for with something in his purse. Another slapjack like swing, Ryback went down and his losing streak continued. Parker celebrated- only for Ryback to hit a Meat Hook, then hit the Shell Shocked on him. Ryback got a measure of revenge, but was still in shock from his loss.
In Divas' action, the rivalry between the Funkadactyls and the Bella Twins continued as Naomi took on Brie Bella. The Funkadactyls' ally Titus O'Neil was watching their back, and he was more than enough to make sure Nikki Bella had no hopes of helping her sister. Naomi took an advantage early, using her freakish athleticism to leave Brie Bella helpless. Brie went for a YES! Lock, but Cameron put Naomi's foot on the rope. Brie broke the hold, giving Naomi a chance to fight back. A Rear View was hit, and Naomi got the big victory.
The Divas' Championship Committee were in Divas' Champion Stephanie McMahon's office, waiting for Paige. Paige entered, the Divas' Money in the Bank briefcase at her side. Stephanie tried to get the contract from Paige, but Paige refused to hand her the briefcase. Stephanie looked, then put out a contract and said that it's more than fair as the Summerslam contract...and even if it's not, the Divas' Championship Committee has determined these are the stipulations, so Paige has two options: Take it or leave it- and if she leaves it, she forfeits her title shot. Paige looked at Stephanie, then signed the contract. Stephanie signed, and said that it's official, and this is how a good businesswoman agrees to compromise. Both of us get something. Paige will receive her Divas' Title shot at Summerslam- but now, in exchange, Stephanie McMahon receives a guarantee there will be some special guests. The Guest Referee for the match will be Eva Marie, the Guest Ring Announcer will be Charlotte, and the Guest Timekeeper will be Sasha Banks. If Paige loses this Divas' Title match, she will be fired, and if any WWE or NXT Diva interferes on Paige's behalf, that Diva will be fired.
In the main event, Antonio Cesaro and John Cena took on the lackeys of their respective opponents at Summerslam- Curtis Axel for Cesaro, Randy Orton for Cena. The two teams had no chemistry- Axel and Orton because of the fact they had never really allied together and had never crossed paths aside from their shared third-generation history...Cesaro and Cena because those two guys really hate each other's guts. This could be seen from the beginning, as Cesaro got attacked early. Cesaro tried tagging Cena in, but Cena dropped to the apron. When Cesaro glared, Cena said "waah that meany Cena wouldn't tag me in waah"- and the distraction led to a Curtis Axel rollup for two. Cesaro tagged Cena in- if you call "Cesaro punching Cena in the face" a tag. The referee did, as Cena got beaten down by Axel and Cena. Axel hit a Perfect-Plex, before Orton picked Cena up and hit the RKO on him for the loss. After the match, Cesaro and Cena kept arguing as Axel and Orton nodded to each other and let the two fight each other.

SMACKDOWN, August 15.
Smackdown started out with big tag team action, as Justin Gabriel and Adrian Neville, fresh off their announcement of Gabriel cashing in Money in the Bank, took on Wyatt Family members Bray Wyatt and Dylan Vachon. The high fliers were biting off more than they could chew against the monsters of WWE Tag Team Champions Erick Rowan and Luke Harper- and their other two members were more than able to take on the two as well. Justin Gabriel took a Sister Abigail, as Adrian Neville took a Choose Death from Dylan Vachon as Wyatt and Vachon got the big victory...before a Legionnaires video started.
Intercontinental Champion CJ Parker defended his title belt against former Intercontinental Champion Goldust. Before the match, Parker talked about how he was a fighting champion and a real man (as the crowd chanted about his purse), who was going to show people that caring about the environment can still make you tough. Goldust, for his part, beat the crap out of Parker, punishing him with his stiff brawling and his mindgames. Parker kept fighting with Goldust, finally hitting the Taste on Goldust for the victory. CJ Parker talked afterwards again about how he's the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time, and he'll take on all comers. So, yeah.
3MB came to the ring as the crowd gave a mixed reaction, with Heath Slater leading his new bandmates Domino, Jimmy Yang, and Ariel for eight-person tag action. The Bo-Liever Bus drove in, with the Exotic Express followers slowly looking more and more...human, with Bo Dallas leading followers Essa Rios, Elijah Burke, Xavier Woods, and Aksana to the ring as their opponents. The various followers, Dallas, and Alex Riley handed out cookies and Bo-Lieve pins as the match began, with the three Bo-Lievers trying to keep Aksana out of the ring and teaming up to take on Slater, Domino, and Yang. However, neither team had particularly good teamwork, leading the match to be kind of disjointed and more "everyone tags out, everyone gets their stuff in" instead. Finally, 3MB had the benefit- and tagged Ariel in for the kill- forcing Burke to tag in Aksana- but this was a benefit for them, as Aksana managed to get the win for her team and make it seem like the new 3MB is the same as the old 3MB.
Evolution came out before the first hour's main event, talking about their matches at Summerslam. Evolution talked about how in 2002, there were four big stars- Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, John Cena, and Batista. Brock Lesnar became a star first- but he left the company, came back, and he's WWE World Heavyweight Champion again. Randy Orton had stayed in the WWE, and he's still the face of the WWE. John Cena and Batista made it to the top of the industry- but their time has finished. Evolution has passed them both by. Batista should have stayed retired and stayed in Hollywood, and now Evolution is putting the bullet in Ole Yeller's head and sending him away for good. John Cena, though- he's been at the top of the WWE for years...but his time is over. He's a lion in winter, and Triple H can see it better than anyone else here can because he's been there before. He's lost to an NXT wrestler in Adrian Neville, and suddenly now he's jealous of Antonio Cesaro. He can say all the things that Cena can claim are things Cesaro has done- but Triple H recognizes it. John Cena's losing his edge, and now he's trying to claw his way to stay at the top by any means necessary. Well, Triple H recognizes it- and at Summerslam, Triple H will put him down for good and show him that his theme song is outdated- Cena's time is up, and the new era of pro wrestling's time is now. This led to a match between John Cena and one of the new Evolution members, Mr. Money in the Bank Cody Rhodes. Cena tried to prove HHH wrong, punishing the Money in the Bank holder with everything he had on him. Cena took an advantage, punishing Cody with everything he had. Cena got Cody up for the AA, but turned it into a 15-rotation Airplane Spin- but this gave Cody Rhodes the chance to reverse it into a crucifix, getting the three count for the win. Cody was helped back by Ted DiBiase and Charlotte as John Cena looked into his hands, then glared at Triple H.
In the ring, Lana, the woman in a suit who promotes awareness of Vladimir Putin, brought her client Alexander Rusev to the ring. Lana continued to say that Jack Swagger's attacks on Rusev were nothing but false claims made by a typical, obnoxious American. Rusev is undefeated, he has the power of Russia behind him, and no American could beat him. This brought out Bad News Barrett, who claimed that while she said no American could end Rusev's unbeaten streak, he's afraid he's got some bad news- he's an Englishman. This led to the question of whether an Englishman could end Rusev's unbeaten streak. Unfortunately, I'm afraid I've got some bad news: No. No, an Englishman can't either. Accolade, Rusev makes Barrett humble, a win for Rusev.
Backstage, Fandango was with his dancer, wondering why she would come back to him after so long. The "Fandangirl" said that she's had it with seeing him dancing with such inferior people. He's a thing of beauty, and when the two of them danced together, he brought music to the world and to the fans- and the world loved the beauty he brought forth. Since then, though, he has been dancing with inferior dancers, and it's led the beauty to be ended. His dancing should be seen with truly beautiful dancers, not these imperfect women he's been forced to be with. Fandango said that he did remember they danced beautifully together, as Zack Ryder and his Four Broskis came over and said that a woman that hot was wasting their time with a guy like him anyway- he knows what all those dancers are about, and she should get with a real man, me, him, zig-a-zig ah. Fandango looked at Zack Ryder, then clocked him, saying "Say what you will about me, you uncouth boor, but leave the woman out of this. Come, my dear. We do dance divinely, don't we?" as they headed off.
In Divas' action, The Funkadactyls teamed up with Alicia Fox to take on Paige and the Bella Twins. Before the match, for seemingly no apparent reason, a Raw Rewind showed Alicia Fox turning on Paige and allying with Stephanie McMahon two months ago...briefly.., alongside a weirdly-redubbed in-match promo where Stephanie McMahon said she'd been paying attention to Alicia Fox recently and was interested in seeing if she was Divas' Championship Committee material...and if she could put on a good match here, she might join with them. The Funkadactyls attacked the Bellas and took them out of the ring, allowing Alicia Fox to get a big advantage, hitting a Scissors Kick on Paige for the shock victory.
In the main event, former tag team partners-turned-arch enemies-turned-presumably on fairly good terms with each other again Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger fought. John Cena was on commentary for the match, claiming that Triple H doesn't understand what he's talking about. John Cena has never run from any losses to date, and he only feels Cesaro's changed his image and needed to destroy him before he keeps hindering the WWE Universe. In the ring, Cesaro didn't seem to follow Cena's claims, shaking hands with Swagger and saluting Zeb Colter's Gadsden flag in a show of respect before locking up with Swagger. The two put on a a big attack, fighting each other with a number of nice assaults. Swagger took an advantage on Cesaro, locking him in a number of amateur attacks to punish Cesaro. Cesaro was able to overpower Swagger, though, brutalizing him with his vicious power assaults. Cesaro took the advantage and hit the Cesaro Swing for 16 rotations on Swagger- but as Cesaro was groggy, Curtis Axel headed to the ring and clocked Cesaro for a disqualification. Swagger tried helping Cesaro as Curtis Axel kept up the assault on Cesaro- but when he did, Axel attacked Swagger. This brought John Cena into the ring as Cena hit an AA on Curtis Axel, then helped Swagger up as the two saluted, then did a "WE THE PEOPLE!" chant as Smackdown ended.

RAW, August 18.
As Raw started, Batista had his second big challenge match to take out Evolution, this time taking on Mr. Money in the Bank, Cody Rhodes. Rhodes had Eden, still in Goldust's facepaint, trying to adjust to Evolution- which wasn't fully there, but was enough for her to hold Cody's briefcase and smile. Cody took an advantage, beating down Batista with a number of nice attacks and keeping the Animal off his game- but the Animal could easily get unleashed on Cody, allowing him to take an advantage. Eden tried distracting Batista- but Batista grabbed her and kissed her, sending him down. Cody Rhodes tried to capitalize with a Disaster Kick, but Batista grabbed him and hit the spinebuster, then wagged his finger at Cody Rhodes. Batista Bomb got hit, and that was all she wrote for Cody. After the match, Batista celebrated, holding three fingers up, then dropping one and putting the other two to his throat as Triple H came to the ring and sarcastically clapped. Triple H said maybe Batista has enough left in his tank to get him to Summerslam- but it all ends there. At Summerslam, he'll face Randy Orton- and if Orton loses, Batista gets him at Night of Champions with the Authority on the line- but if Batista loses, this little second childhood nostalgia run is over for good, and Batista will leave the WWE.
The Big Show headed to the ring for a big opportunity to take out the undefeated Alexander Rusev. The World's Largest Athlete was more than a big challenge, but he had to deal with the might of Mother Russia- whether Mother Russia looked like Lana was beyond me, but even still. With their claims no American could defeat them, the question was, would the world's largest American be able to do it? Answer...no. No he couldn't. The world's largest back got broken and humbled by Rusev, as he got another notch in his flagpole. After the match, the two celebrated as Lana sent down what she thought was the Russian flag- only to be an American flag as the crowd cheered. Jack Swagger was seen on the TitanTron, saying that at Summerslam, Rusev's undefeated streak ends and the might of America will be shown to the world. A big "WE THE PEOPLE!" chant was shouted afterwards, as Rusev and Lana were unhappy.
Backstage, Ryback is looking at catering, but doesn't pick up anything. Antonio Cesaro headed over to him to try and talk, saying that Ryback has nothing to be ashamed about. He went in there against Brock Lesnar, and he came closer than any man has yet to beating him. Even if he didn't get that victory, Ryback proved himself and proved he's ready to be the man, and he should look at what he did do to Brock Lesnar out there. Ryback asked if that attitude's done well for him, and said maybe Cena was right about you. Not you being a crybaby or a sellout- but you having an attitude like that. Maybe Ryback did come closer than any man ever to beating Brock Lesnar- but close only counts in horseshoes. He didn't BEAT Brock Lesnar...and maybe Brock Lesnar merely cashed in on you last time, so you can sleep at night with the perfect excuse for why you lost....but until Summerslam, when you're in the ring with Brock Lesnar, at your best- and he shows you your best isn't even good enough to defeat a guy who has so little respect for this business he's openly mailing it in in the ring, and he'll be the first to tell you that, but it's STILL enough to destroy you at your best...you really won't understand what he's going through. Cesaro said "Well, that'd work- if i didn't plan to beat him. Come on- you have a match tonight. One win, and the Big Guy these fans want will be back." Ryback thought, then went for his match- against one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, the Angry Swamp Sheep Plucker Erick Rowan. The brutal hillbilly didn't have his fellow Wyatt Family members in the ring against him, but the dominance Rowan had over this reeling Ryback was more than enough for him himself. Rowan got a Greetings from the North on Ryback, giving him another big loss to keep him on this slide. Ryback looked inconsolable as he walked back to the ring.
The Intercontinental Champion, CJ Parker, had one of the toughest challenges of his career as the Moonchild took on Dean Ambrose. The Lunatic Fringe of the WWE had started his attack on Parker, throwing everything he had at him and keeping Parker from getting into a groove. Parker tried to fight back, but how can you fight someone when you don't know their next line of attack? The answer to this is- you cheat. Liberally. Parker grabbed his man-bag and cracked Ambrose with it, similar to how he cashed in on Bo Dallas in the first place. Ambrose went down, allowing Parker to get the victory. After the match, Parker celebrated and lauded himself as the greatest fighting champion in the title's history.
In Divas' tag team action, Paige teamed up with Summer Rae to take on Eva Marie and Alicia Fox. The graphic for Paige's match with Stephanie McMahon changed, with Eva Marie, Charlotte, and Alicia Fox taking over as the announcers talked about how Stephanie McMahon sent Sasha Banks on a fact-finding mission to scout new Diva talent (and not how she got that brick in her face, say what, now what she gon' do with it?). Alicia Fox tried building on her big upset over Paige as she and Eva Marie tried- emphasis- tried- to combat the other two. However, even if the teamwork between Paige and Summer Rae wasn't there, they were still more than able to take out their opponents. A Paige Turner on Eva Marie, and the Divas' Committee members went down easily.
In the ring, Zack Ryder and the Four Broskis talked about how maybe he's been biting off more than he could chew the last few weeks- but there's one good way to regroup. Fandango tried to curb he and his bro's style, blocking him from that skank dancer of his on Smackdown- well, now he's making his own challenge. He's calling in his rematch clause on Smackdown, he'll get the United States title back, he'll get the girls, and he can watch as he teaches the Fandangirl how to do the horizontal bop. This was too much for Fandango, who ran to the ring and attacked Ryder (as Cole talked about how, if Fandango considered himself nothing else, he was a gentleman). If this wasn't enough to make it clear, Fandango and Fandangirl leading the crowd in Fandangoing made it clear- wait, are they really trying Fandango as a good guy now?
The Lucha Dragons were in the ring, pointing towards the crowd, for the next match. The two were barely interested in the match going on, Sin Cara halfheartedly pointing. A big WARNING sign was seen- as the debut of The Legionnaires was seen. Sylvester LeFort and Marcus Louis headed to the ring, the crowd booing the two as they headed in. What followed was a halfhearted squash, as the Legionnaires tried getting an advantage on the Lucha Dragons, who barely cared about where they were. Sylvester LeFort got a pinfall on Sin Cara- then The Legionnaires celebrated by both doing the French Tickler after their victory.
In the main event, John Cena took on Curtis Axel. Antonio Cesaro was on commentary, happy that he wouldn't have Cena treating him like a crybaby if he called the match. Cesaro said he was happy about how most of the WWE Universe knows he never turned on them, and that Cena doesn't really get it- and won't until Cesaro wins the WWE World Title again from Brock Lesnar. In the ring, Paul Heyman tried distracting the referee, allowing Amy Axel her chance to help her brother with a chair, but John Cena grabbed the chair,as Cena went for the attack. Cena went for the AA onto the chair on Axel, then locked the STF in, but Paul Heyman put Axel's foot on the ropes. Cena, not knowing this, didn't break the hold, getting a DQ. After the match, Cena shook his head and screamed "WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT?" to Cesaro. Cena went backstage, running after the triumphant Axel, as the show ended.

SMACKDOWN, August 22.
Smackdown started out with Evolution coming out for a promo. Triple H talked about how the fans never understood true greatness in its own time. During the 21st century, people like Batista and John Cena had always been the belles of the ball, faces of the WWE, but they were no more than just two particularly good wrestlers. Triple H, the most legendary face of the WWE of all time, and Randy Orton, the face of the WWE right now, were ignored by the fans. They were the gold standard of this business, but because they weren't popular enough, the fans ignored them and downplayed their accomplishments. Yet, it's 2014 now, and Evolution is still going strong. People may come and go- but Evolution is forever. Triple H is the greatest of all time. Randy Orton is the best in this business today. Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, and Charlotte are the future of the business. And now, we're at the end of the line for their rivals. At Summerslam, the era of Batista and John Cena will end. Randy Orton will end Batista's career and keep The Authority in power without a challenge. John Cena will fall at Triple H's hands, not get a chance to referee Brock Lesnar vs. Antonio Cesaro- and by the end of the night, Triple H vows the face of the WWE will change forever.
In the opening match, Fandango defended his United States Championship against former champion Zack Ryder. Fandango and his Fandangirl danced to the ring, then led the crowd in Fandangoing- while Ryder and his Four Broskis were more businesslike. Fandango and Ryder tried fighting it out in the ring, neither one managing to get an advantage on the other. Meanwhile on the outside, Mike Chiappetta, The Big O, and Enzo Amore tried going after the Fandangirl as the match continued. Fandango had to keep one eye on the outside and one eye on Ryder, which helped Ryder get an advantage. Fandango kept fighting back, but every time he did, the Broskis got closer and closer to doing something with his girl. Fandango finally fought back and made it to the top rope for a Diving Legdrop, but Enzo Amore grabbed the Fandangirl as The Big O made a move on her- and Fandango hit the Diving Legdrop on the outside, clearing both guys out and taking them down. Fandango went back into the ring- right into a Broski Boot by Ryder. Ryder hit a Rough Ryder, and for the third time, Zack Ryder was the United States Champion. After the match, Ryder celebrated- as Fandango checked on his dancer.
In a rematch from Raw, The Legionnaires had a second shot at the Lucha Dragons of Sin Cara and El Abejorro. This time, The Legionnaires got a chance to cut a promo, where Sylvester LeFort talked about how he and his partner, Marcus Louis, had defeated the Lucha Dragons in their first shot at them, and they will be their second scalp again. The might of true Frenchmen has not been seen for a long time, and they are here to win titles, show the might a true Frenchman has, and get all the MON-AYS. It wasn't reinventing the wheel, but it was still the best part of this match. Sin Cara and El Abejorro didn't put any effort in the match at all, both guys checking out of it and doing the bare minimum to put a match on. The Legionnaires got an easy match out of it, with Sylvester Lefort got a sunset flip, then grabbed Sin Cara's tights (as Sin Cara barely got over with it) for the victory. After the match, The Legionnaires celebrated as Sin Cara barely got up and didn't sell any of it.
In a non-title match, Adrian Neville and Justin Gabriel took on The Wyatt Family of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. If Neville and Gabriel thought their friends in Marellions of Dollars would help them, Bray Wyatt and Dylan Vachon proved that wouldn't happen by beating them down in a split-screen afterwards. This led to Neville and Gabriel getting attacked, the Tag Team Champions brutalizing the two and doing what they pleased against them. Neville and Gabriel tried to fight back, but the power of Rowan and Harper was almost too much for them. Gabriel, though, managed to get a big kick in on Rowan, allowing him to make a hot tag to Neville. Neville was a house afire, punishing Rowan and getting a big dropkick on Harper to send it down. Gabriel hit a 450 Splash on Rowan, then Neville hit the Red Arrow on Rowan for the big win. Neville and Gabriel celebrated- as the Wyatt Family attacked them both and stood triumphant over the two.
Backstage, Batista and John Cena were alongside Renee Young. Cena talked about how Evolution keeps talking about how they're the greatest of their era- but it's not just about in that ring. Batista's starring in Guardians of the Galaxy, the biggest movie of the year- he's become as big a star as The Rock. John Cena- he's a 14-time World Champion. No matter what Randy Orton says, John Cena IS the face of the WWE, and his theme song says it all- his time is now. Reigns at the top don't have an expiration date- the only person who can end their run at the top is them. If Evolution wants to come at them, they see just why Batista and John Cena are the gold standard of the WWE. If Evolution thinks they're the best- Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase will see it tonight- even if Charlotte looks a bit better than her old man- Ric Flair said it best. To be the man, you have to BEAT the man- and John Cena is THE MAN.
The Moonchild CJ Parker continued allegedly being the fighting Intercontinental Champion (as the fans still called him a guy with a purse), this time taking on Hideo Itami. Itami hadn't had much of a chance to get his singles career into full swing since Yoshi Tatsu was beaten back to Japan by The Ascension, but he was able to kick the crap out of the Intercontinental Champion here. A series of stiff kicks led to Itami getting the advantage on Parker, trying to chop him down like an old-growth tree being taken out to handle some non-recycled paper. Parker grabbed his manbag, with something inside it to use it as a slapjack, then clocked Itami with it to get out of another tough fight as the champion.
Antonio Cesaro got a big tuneup for his Summerslam match with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, taking on Paul Heyman's other Guy, Curtis Axel. Axel tried to take a big fight to Cesaro, giving Cesaro everything he had against him. It may have even been a good way to get Cesaro weakened- but then, he was Curtis Axel going against Antonio Cesaro. Cesaro got Axel, Cesaro Swing for 18 rotations, Axel goes down to Cesaro. After the match, Paul Heyman got in the ring and applauded Cesaro for beating Curtis Axel- but Cesaro doesn't know what he's gotten himself into at Summerslam. Ryback was a dominant beast, but he'll never be the same again for having come across Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar doesn't need to give his all to defeat anyone in the world. Brock Lesnar is the ultimate athlete- him at his very worst is better than anyone else in the universe at their best. He doesn't just defeat people- he destroys their soul. At least Cesaro can tell his grandkids he was ONCE a WWE World Heavyweight Champion, because at Summerslam, Cesaro will never be the same again when Brock Lesnar destroys him. That's not a prediction, that's a SPOILER.
Divas' Champion Stephanie McMahon came to the ring with Divas' Championship Committee members Eva Marie and Charlotte, as well as blatant replacement for the suspended Sasha Banks Alicia Fox. Stephanie talked about how this is a great moment for Smackdown, as fans finally get a chance to see the greatest female in history defend her Divas' Championship. She looked through the roster, and found the best possible woman to defend against. This brought out Amy Axel, who didn't know what she was doing, mostly trying vainly to attack Stephanie. Amy didn't try to lay down for Stephanie- but even punching or kicking her was enough for Stephanie's allies to beat her down to the point Stephanie casually pinned her. Afterwards, Stephanie celebrated as if she just slammed Andre the Giant, the Divas following her joining her, with Stephanie going in front of them.
In the main event, Batista and John Cena took on Ted DiBiase and Mr. Money in the Bank Cody Rhodes. Batista and Cena took an immediate advantage on the former Legacy, now Evolution members, never giving them a chance to breathe. Even Legacy's teamwork couldn't get them into the match, as Cena and Batista could not be stopped. AA on Rhodes, Batista Bomb on DiBiase, and Batista and John Cena stood triumphant over Evolution. Will they do it at Summerslam?

RAW, August 25.
Raw started up with Paul Heyman, advocate for WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, coming to the ring. Heyman talked about how this is the last chance for some freedom. John Cena and Antonio Cesaro have been surprisingly stupid in recent weeks. They had their whole careers ahead of them, but they chose to throw them all away...not by their own problem with each other, but because they're jockeying to fight Brock Lesnar. The nail that sticks up is the first to get hammered down- and if they had just ignored Brock Lesnar, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, the greatest fighter on the planet today- they might have been able to spend the rest of their careers with some semblance of happiness. But now, Lesnar will destroy Antonio Cesaro- and if John Cena or Triple H have any thought about giving Cesaro a easy road, hoping to beat the title away from him, Lesnar will handle him just as easily. This brought out Antonio Cesaro, who talked about how Paul Heyman can keep talking about what Brock Lesnar might be able to do- but Cesaro prefers to SHOW people what he can do. Cesaro grabbed Heyman, took him down, then swung him for 20 rotations and said "THAT is what I do, Lesnar!" as the crowd cheered.
3MB were in the ring, Ariel singing as Heath Slater, Domino, and Jimmy Yang backed her up, waiting for their opponents in six-man tag action. The Lucha Dragons' theme hit as crowds cheered, NXT wrestler Kalisto shouting "LUCHA! LUCHA! LUCHA!" as he was joined by Sin Cara (barely recognized under the WWE-mask as Rey Cometa) and El Abejorro (also barely recognized under the mask as Pegasso Xtreme) and the three went for a match. This match was typical lucha fare. Domino didn't seem to have the same ability to match up with the new Lucha Dragons, who punished the 3MB members with a barely-seen lucha style (showing the two didn't have much time to learn WWE style before the recasting.) This helped, as it was really a showcase for Kalisto, who hit the Salina del Sol on Jimmy Yang for the big victory. The Lucha Dragons celebrated as the show went backstage...
...where Paige was WALKING~!...and Alicia Fox, Eva Marie, and Charlotte were JUMPING HER LIKE COWARDS~! The three grabbed her as she kicked and screamed out to the ring, then started pushing her arm-first into the ringpost, over and over again. Divas' Champion Stephanie McMahon then came out, after Paige had been beaten, and said "Summerslam!", then did a mom dance over her, kicking at Paige in the ring, then saying "Don't you get it? McMahons ALWAYS WIN! You don't GET to beat me- NO ONE DOES!" Paige countered by saying 'if I can't have my match tonight- fine. I had a match with Alicia Fox, have her face anyone I choose to replace her." Stephanie mocked her and said 'fine, Alicia can beat anyone else you choose."
Before their respective tag teams had to cash in their Money in the Bank briefcases, Justin Gabriel and Darren Young had one last chance to team out of respect to each other. The Funkadactyls and Titus O'Neil came out and said that for months, they had been focusing on their own problems, but they knew that there were plenty of other people being held back by the white man in the WWE, and after realizing that, they found another warrior fighting for his people as much as they were. This brought out their new client, who was recognized by the hardcore fans as Homicide (but was referred to as "Miguel Khalifa" by the Funkadactyls.) The match was a bit of a styles clash, with Khalifa and O'Neil never facing, and the two separate teams for Gabriel and Young hurting them. Khalifa got Justin Gabriel out of the ring as Titus O'Neil hit the Clash of the Titus on his old partner, getting the big victory. After the match, the Funkadactyls' clients tried to celebrate- but The Wyatt Family showed up and attacked Young and Gabriel. Bray Wyatt challenged- if there's 4-on 2, it's not fair enough- so let's make this real: Bray Wyatt and Dylan Vachon, vs. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper, vs. Marellions of Dollars, vs. Justin Gabriel and Adrian Neville- in TLC.
The Moonchild, CJ Parker, kept up his Intercontinental Title defenses against former Shield members, this time taking on the Shield's architect, Seth Rollins, for the title. Rollins had the crowd in his pocket, while Parker had the crowd's hate in his "purse". Parker didn't need that help, for as much incredible moves Rollins had, Parker had whatever he keeps in his man-bag to crack Rollins over the head with it. Rollins went down, and Parker kept his Intercontinental Championship. CJ Parker celebrated, then said that he's the most fighting Intercontinental Champion of all time, and even The Shield can't stop him from doing what's best for the world.
The Legionnaires tried keeping their hot streak going, this time taking on the team of Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal. The Chosen One and...the Fun One were both a bit more of an attack from the Legionnaires' first opponents, if only because they want to be there, but The Legionnaires were just able to show more of what they could do against them. The Legionnaires took an early advantage, finally hitting a Bonsoir on Jinder Mahal, getting the big victory. After the match,Marcus Louis did the French Tickler over them as Sylvester LeFort did a money taunt over them, celebrating their big victory.
Furious about his loss on Smackdown, Fandango called in his rematch clause to fight Zack Ryder again for the WWE United States Championship. Fandango's anger kept the Fandangirl backstage, but wasn't enough for him to stop Fandangoing to the crowd's cheers. Zack Ryder, in a show of "respect", kept the Four Broskis backstage as he tried to get his attack going on Fandango, as he tried punishing him. Fandango had an answer for everything Ryder had, though, and it looked like Ryder's third United States Title reign would be his shortest...until video went backstage, where Mike Chiappetta, Enzo Amore, and The Big O were at catering as the Fandangirl was waiting and grabbed her. Fandango rushed backstage, getting counted out as Zack Ryder kept the title by the skin of his teeth. After the match, Ryder gloated, saying that he's proven that he and his Four Broskis are the best in this business- and he wants to prove it at Summerslam. Since Fandango wanted to use his rematch clause tonight, he's making an open challenge for the United States Championship at Summerslam. If you think you're good enough to beat Long Island Iced Z...well, Come at me, Bro.
Alicia Fox headed to the ring for her match which was originally scheduled to be with Paige, before the brutal beating Paige received earlier tonight. Paige headed to the ring and said that, while she was really looking forward to giving Alicia Fox what she deserves- after this beating, she wants to save every bit of it to destroy Stephanie McMahon this Sunday and liberate the Divas' Championship. That's why, she made sure to use that open spot available as her replacement, so she called to a good friend of hers to replace her. The crowd waited- and the NXT fans gave a big cheer as the wacky waving inflatable arm-flailing tube men rose, signifying Bayley's pfficial debut on the WWE roster. Bayley hugged Paige, then headed into the ring as Alicia Fox scoffed at the replacement...big mistake. EAT. SLEEP. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. HUG. REPEAT. Bayley finally got a pinfall, getting a big win in her official WWE debut. After the match, Bayley hugged the referee, then JBL, Michael Cole, and Chris Jericho, then some fans in the crowd as Alicia Fox glared at her (and backstage, Stephanie McMahon didn't seem that happy.)
In the main event, we got one more chapter in the eternal feud of Randy Orton and John Cena. Batista made his way to ringside to make sure the rest of Evolution didn't interfere. In the ring, Orton and Cena knew each other better than they knew themselves, neither one getting an advantage on the other one as all of their best stuff got reversed. Batista made his way to the ramp as Evolution tried coming down- which led to Batista hitting Spinebusters on Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. Charlotte made it past him, trying to shout some support on Orton and trying to throw Rhodes's Money in the Bank briefcase into him- but John Cena grabbed it. Cena looked at Orton, then clobbered him with the briefcase a few times, as the referee called for the disqualification. Cena threw it down, then put Orton up and put the Airplane Spin on him, getting 21 rotations on him as the show ended.

Smackdown, August 29.
Smackdown started out with Paul Heyman being helped to the ring by Curtis Axel and Amy Axel. Paul Heyman talked about how on Raw, Antonio Cesaro grabbed him and swung him for 20 rotations. He's still dizzy from his attack. Just like his head still hurts from Ryback attacking him and giving him the Shell Shocked. But a funny thing happens. Paul Heyman can DEAL with that, because he is the advocate and close friend of his client, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, the first man to call in Money in the Bank BEFORE he won it, the 1 in 21-1, Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman can take any attack that a person wants to give him, because all it does is show Brock Lesnar what he has to deal with. They play their best move on a man who may get injured, but money can buy the best health insurance possible, and his client, Brock Lesnar, is a great enough champion that he makes plenty of money. If it makes Antonio Cesaro feel better to give him a Cesaro Swing, that's fine- but there's a world of difference between Paul Heyman and his client, Brock Lesnar. And on Sunday, Cesaro will go in the ring with Brock Lesnar, like he did when he had his Money in the Bank briefcase cashed in, and Cesaro will be beaten, destroyed, and have his soul broken by his client, Brock Lesnar. Cesaro looked like he was about to change the face of the WWE, just like Ryback looked like he could change the face of the WWE- but Paul Heyman and his client, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, are the only ones who will change the face of the WWE forever.
In the opening match, Sheamus was in the ring with the crowd cheering, as Sheamus waited for his opponent. This led to Lana leading her client, Vladimir Putin, er, Alexander Rusev, to the ring for a big match (as JBL and Josh Mathews talked about how on the WWE Summerslam Pre-Show, available on the WWE Network for just $9.99!, Alexander Rusev will fight Jack Swagger.) The first ever Irish-born WWE Champion tried to see if the fighting Irish spirit could take out the Russian monster Rusev. Spoiler alert: It couldn't. Sheamus fought, Rusev Crush, Rusev Smash, Accolade, Rusev make Sheamus humble. After the match, Rusev celebrated as the Russian flag fell- with Jack Swagger jumping Rusev and whaling on him, to the point EMTs had to be called out to save Rusev. Swagger helped Sheamus up, and led him in a "WE THE PEOPLE!" chant (as people were so happy Swagger beat up Rusev they politely agreed to ignore he was chanting for a Real American with an Irishman.)
The United States Champion, Zack Ryder, came to the ring, his Four Broskis in tow, as Ryder defended his title again. Close to his getting an open challenge for the United States Title, Ryder got a non-open challenge in Big E Langston, who was able to overpower Ryder with his attacks. Big E looked like he could have destroyed Ryder's attacks- but The Big O was more than able to attack Big E just as well as he could. This helped Ryder get an attack- hitting the Broski Boot and the Rough Ryder for the victory. Ryder celebrated, but can he do it with a mystery opponent lying in wait?
After his win on Raw against Seth Rollins, CJ Parker defended the Intercontinental Championship against Dean Ambrose. CJ Parker kept talking about how he was a Shield-slayer, but Dean Ambrose said that while he may be able to beat A Shield member, he couldn't destroy The Shield. Parker, if nothing else, was willing to try that. Parker had his manbag/slapjack right there to attack Ambrose- but Ambrose knew just what to do with it- emptying the bag to reveal an apple inside. Ambrose grabbed it, took a bite, then spit it in Parker's face, saying "Sorry, Carlito!" after throwing it out, then kept the attack going. A good psychic, like a good hippie, has multiple ways to do their trick, and a title belt shot by CJ Parker got him another cheap victory. After the match, CJ Parker celebrated and said "SHIELDSLAYER!"...which was not a good plan. Roman Reigns headed down to take Ambrose's side, saying "You beat Rollins, you beat Ambrose...what about me?". Reigns pointed to Parker's Intercontinental Title, and looked down, saying "This one I'm wearing's getting old...Sunday, I think I need a new belt. Believe THAT."
In tag team action, Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal were in the ring for a match with their replacements in 3MB, Domino and Jimmy Yang. Heath Slater and Ariel were there to ally with their bandmates- but in addition to that, an NXT regular was alongside JBL and Josh Mathews. The man introduced himself as Fabian Kaelin, Manager of Champions- and he was here representing his clients, the best tag team in NXT right now, the NXT Tag Team Champions Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger. They've been tearing up NXT on Thursday nights, they've handled their business on Main Event and Superstars, and it is their manager's opinion they're ready to take on the big boys in the WWE. In the ring, McIntyre and Mahal tried to get the advantage, but a Shake, Rattle, and Roll by Domino was followed up by a Yang Time by Jimmy Yang for the big victory. After the match, 3MB celebrated- as Fabian said that this was great, but Jordan and Dillinger are better than even them- and now it's time to show all of WWE what NXT already knows.
In eight-man tag team action, The Wyatt Family was in full force, taking on Marellions of Dollars, Adrian Neville, and Justin Gabriel. The teams tried to fight them, with the Wyatts getting an early attack on their opponents. Rowan, Harper, and Vachon brutalized the four, with Bray Wyatt able to sit in his rocking chair and wait. This 4-on-3 attack did hurt them eventually, as the four opponents worked together and attacked. Santino Marella hit the Cobra on Luke Harper, with Darren Young hitting the Gut Check on Luke Harper. Justin Gabriel and Adrian Neville teamed up on Dylan Vachon, hitting a 450 Splash, followed by the Red Arrow, on Vachon for the big victory. After the match, the two teams celebrated as Bray Wyatt grabbed Adrian Neville, then hit Sister Abigail on him as the Wyatts stood triumphant.
In Divas' action, Divas' Championship Committee member Charlotte took on Ms. Money in the Bank, Paige. The two put on a clinic in the ring, neither one getting an advantage on the other one. The crowd started to get into it as both were able to show the full extent of their ability, neither one getting the advantage. Charlotte tried to go for a Figure Four Leglock, but Paige reversed it as Charlotte tried to get to the ropes. Paige went back into the middle of the ring, as Charlotte was forced to tap out to her own hold. After the match, Stephanie McMahon came to the ring and clapped her hands, talking about how great it was the fans got one last chance to see Paige in the ring before she's drummed out of this business for good. See, Paige can act like she's some hero to women everywhere, but she's done so many things wrong that she's just hurting any little girl out there. Paige actually was willing to try and take shortcuts to become a great woman by trying to steal a briefcase and STEAL a shot at the Divas' Championship, instead of being a proper lady and waiting her turn for a Divas' Title opportunity like real women could. She's assaulted her boss and her bosses' underlings to get a title shot, and when she was about to get what she had coming to her, she chose to make a sham marriage to stay in the country in some miscarriage of justice. And now, after all this, she's about to go into the ring and take little girls away from cheering a real role model for them. Stephanie McMahon is a great businesswoman, a great Divas' Champion, and a great wife and mother. She is the person little girls should aspire to one day be like, not some two-bit tart who thinks that she can cut in front of the line and be a Divas' Champion. It didn't have to end this way- she had her whole career in front of her, but on Sunday, she will find out what everyone finds out eventually: Stars in this ring come and go, but the only thing that is forever in this business is the McMahon Family will ALWAYS be on top, and they will ALWAYS WIN. Paige had to try and act like she could do otherwise, and now at just 22 years old, her career is about to be over forever because she had the gall to cross the boss.
In the main event, we had six-man tag team action, as Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase took on Batista, John Cena, and Antonio Cesaro. The match seemed like a normal one, but in a preview of the main event, Triple H came to the ring as special guest referee. This seemed to take a benefit on the former Legacy-turned-Evolution members, but Triple H was at least willing to be fair to Cesaro and Cena- but when Batista came in, it changed- with Triple H knowing he could bypass the stipulation on Sunday by beating him now. This was helped by Cesaro, who grabbed Triple H and motioned for the Cesaro Swing- but John Cena grabbed Triple H and hit the Airplane Spin for 15 rotations. Cesaro then grabbed Ted DiBiase and hit the Cesaro Swing on him for 16 rotations. A replacement referee came in, and Batista hit the Batista Bomb on Randy Orton for the three count. Cesaro and Cena glared at each other, with Batista raising both men's hands as Smackdown ended.

SUMMERSLAM, August 31.
In the Summerslam Pre-Show match, available on the WWE Network for just $9.99!, the crowd went wild as Jack Swagger came to the ring. Zeb Colter joined him, then took the mic.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it is our honor to be here, in front of a whole arena filled with Real Americans here tonight. Now, I know that here, in a city like Los Angeles, where people from all around the world come to live their dreams- maybe we don't totally deserve your sympathy just yet. We cannot talk about how much we apologize for the way we acted in the past. But whether you like us, or you still hate us, we're not here tonight for that. We're here tonight in the face of Real evil from outside these borders. It's not immigrants who cause the problems in this country, but people who don't respect this great nation for what it is and take our money while gloating about the greatness of an evil regime. Alexander Rusev, Lana, they ain't Real Americans- they ain't even Real Russians- they're just Real A**holes. And Jack Swagger has made it his mission to be the man to put this man in his place- and tonight, he's going to do just that. Now, if you believe in his power, I want you all to rise, show Alexander Rusev and Lana we will NOT bow down to their acts of terrorism, and in a clear and crisp voice, shout out, WE THE PEOPLE!"
"WE THE PEOPLE!"
This brought out Alexander Rusev and Lana, to a chorus of boos, as Rusev tried walking to the ring- but Jack Swagger cut him off at the pass, beginning to tear into Rusev with vicious rights and lefts right on the ramp. Lana tried to shout instructions in Russian, but Rusev still wasn't ready for Swagger's attack. Swagger took an advantage, punishing Rusev with everything he had in his arsenal. However, the power of Rusev was more than able to keep him in the match, as Rusev kept up his attack and tried chopping down Swagger. Swagger would not be denied, hitting a Gutwrench Powerbomb on Rusev, and then going for the Patriot Act- but Rusev spun around and kicked Swagger, getting him back in the match. Rusev started to dominate Swagger, using his powerful attacks to get the Real American down. Rusev used a series of backbreakers, trying to weaken up Swagger- but Swagger knew just how to counter it. Swagger went for a second Gutwrench Powerbomb, but Rusev reversed it, then hit another backbreaker. Rusev went for the kill, locking the Accolade on Swagger in the center of the ring. Swagger tried fighting the hold, finally breaking it as the crowd cheered, but the damage was starting to be done to him. Rusev was able to toy with Swagger, hitting some more backbreakers, then locked the Accolade in again. Swagger fought through it, trying to break out, and eventually digging deep to break out one more time. Swagger had nothing left, though, as Rusev could do whatever he wanted to him. Some more backbreakers followed, and Swagger was locked in the Accolade one more time. Swagger tried fighting, but couldn't break it one more time- but Swagger refused to tap out to Rusev's might. Swagger, using the last of his energy, finally passed out from the pain as the referee called for the bell. Following the match, Rusev and Lana celebrated, as the Russian flag came down to the fans' boos and the end of the Summerslam Pre-Show.
Summerslam opened up with one of the biggest matches possible, with one of the biggest stipulations for the show possible- Triple H going one on one with John Cena, with the winner becoming the Special Guest Referee of the Brock Lesnar/Antonio Cesaro WWE World Heavyweight Championship match in the main event. Triple H made sure this match would be in his favor, bringing Charlotte, Ted DiBiase, and Mr. Money in the Bank Cody Rhodes with his wife [and unwilling manager] Eden down to watch the match and learn from the master (but if they helped him beat Cena, that's fine too, I guess.) John Cena came to the ring himself, his HUSTLE/LOYALTY/RESPECT shirt staying on as he tore into Triple H. Triple H tried slowing the match down, forcing Cena to wrestle his match- but Cena and Triple H had done this for so often that John Cena was more than able to wrestle slow, fast, power, speed, technical- you name it. Cena and Triple H knew each other's styles so well that neither man was able to get much of an advantage on the other. Cody Rhodes debated throwing his briefcase into the ring, but he remembered how Cena used it before when he tried to and thought otherwise. Triple H got an advantage and went for a Pedigree, but Cena reversed to a backdrop, then went for the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Triple H. Cena took an advantage, going for the Attitude Adjustment, which only got 2. Triple H was able to start fighting further, hitting the Pedigree on Cena, which also only got 2. Cena tried fighting back further, attacking Triple H with big punches, which HHH blocked time and again. HHH tried for a Pedigree, but Cena adjusted, lifted Triple H up, then hit the Airplane Spin on him for 20 rotations. Triple H, dizzy, was short work. An Attitude Adjustment, then Cena locked the STF in on Triple H, who tapped out to make John Cena the referee of the main event. Evolution looked on as Cena celebrated his victory.
Following the match, CJ Parker came down to the ring, his manbag and Intercontinental Championship on either shoulder. Parker took the mic.
"California, here I come. It's great finally being in a state that recognizes the importance of saving this planet- you are truly as close to being my people as there can be in this world!" The crowd gave a mixed reaction as Parker continued. "That's why, as the Intercontinental Champion and a role model for this world, I know you fans will be happy to hear some more tips these fans can use to save the environment. Like, for instance- I know here in California, people are willing to use biodiesel or even electric cars to save the environment. But even this is too much for the earth- the earth weeps at all the factory farming and petroleum-filled fertilizer used to grow the corn used to make biodiesel, let alone all the work going into making electricity. Even using bicycles- where do you think they get those precious metals from, people? We have feet, people, USE THEM! If places to go are too far away, well, you're just ruining this earth to try traveling on your conveyances. You don't NEED a lawn to waste water- grow crops at home and you won't have to leave your house! And don't get me started o..."
Luckily, they didn't, as Roman Reigns headed down the ringside steps and jumped into the ring to a chorus of cheers. Parker tried continuing his spiel...
...big mistake, as he turned right around into a Superman Punch from Reigns.
Reigns went back to the corner- Spear on CJ Parker.
The pinfall was academic.
When CJ Parker comes to, you might want to tell him that wasn't a pollutant diesel truck that just came by, it was the new Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns.
The day of reckoning came for the two unlikely Money in the Bank Tag Team holders- as a four-team, TLC match started. Adrian Neville and Justin Gabriel headed to the ring, high-fiving crowds, Gabriel holding his briefcase. They were followed out by Marellions of Dollars, Santino Marella happily air-tromboning as Darren Young danced, carrying his own briefcase. The two teams met. Young and Gabriel shook hands, then each man handed the referee his briefcase as the referee held both of them up to the crowd.
"The following contest is a TLC match. Both Darren Young and Justin Gabriel are cashing in their Money in the Bank Tag Team briefcases!"
The lights then went off...
"Los Angeles...
...we're here."
The Wyatt Family came out in full force, Dylan Vachon and Bray Wyatt heading down flanking the WWE Tag Team Champions Erick Rowan and Luke Harper, Vachon carrying a rocking chair for his partner. While Rowan and Harper were coming in the champs, it was hard to believe Bray Wyatt's control over the two wouldn't lead them to willingly let Wyatt take the titles instead- which added another aspect to their title defense [and almost making it 4-on-2-on-2.] The referee raised the Tag Titles to the rafters- but that was also a problem, as Erick Rowan cracked Darren Young with a steel chair, while Dylan Vachon set two more up and hit Justin Gabriel with Choose Death to start the match. The Wyatt Family started brutalizing Santino and Neville, never letting up on the two. Young and Gabriel tried to fight back, but the Wyatts seemed to be in their element. Gabriel lacked the size, but was more than willing to get some wood- which only hurt him, as Luke Harper threw Gabriel through his own table. Bray Wyatt merely sat in his rocking chair in wait, hoping for his men to keep up the mayhem until he could merely take the titles. The three were more than able to do it, with Rowan punishing anyone he could find with chair shots, while Vachon set up some tables for Luke Harper to knock people down from- or try to, as Adrian Neville hit a hurricanrana on Harper, followed by Justin Gabriel getting him through a table. Neville and Gabriel hit some double dropkicks on Rowan as Darren Young attacked Dylan Vachon. Santino Marella seemed to have the opportunity to go for the belts- but Santino looked terrified to go up the ladder. This gave Bray Wyatt his opportunity to make his first attack, going for Sister Abigail on Marella- but Marella put the Cobra up first, as Wyatt kissed the Cobra instead, and went down like a thud from it. Marella celebrated, only to be clobbered with a vicious lariat by Harper. Young, Neville, and Gabriel kept up the attack on Rowan and Vachon, trying to make things easier- but that led to Young eating table as Gabriel and Neville tried to attack. Neville got Rowan on a table as Gabriel went up a second ladder, hitting the 450 Splash- but Rowan got out of the way, sending Gabriel through the table. Rowan went for more of an attack- only to get struck by the Cobra. Santino tried going up the ladder again, but only got a couple rungs higher before being terrified. Adrian Neville tried meeting Santino, as Neville tried blocking the cobra and punching- but Bray Wyatt sent the ladder down, putting both guys through tables. Vachon then set up some chairs and went for Choose Death on Darren Young, who reversed it and hit a Russian Legsweep on him onto the chairs. Young rushed up the ladder, as Justin Gabriel met with him. The two tried going up- but this time, there was only room for one to take the belts, as the two friends started going at it with rights and lefts on each other. Luke Harper grabbed Justin Gabriel as Erick Rowan grabbed Darren Young, both guys being powerbombed. Rowan and Harper were all alone- but didn't go up the ladder, instead waiting for Bray Wyatt as the crowd booed. Rowan and Harper kneeled as Wyatt started singing "He's got the whooooole world, in his hands...", then tried to go up the ladder while singing- but as he sang, The Cobra struck Wyatt and sent him down. Rowan and Harper were still in a trance, as Santino Marella kept going up. He was still terrified, but Darren Young started shouting encouragement to him, with Marella getting up the ladder more. Rowan and Harper started shaking off their trance, as Justin Gabriel kicked Harper down. Adrian Neville started fighting Dylan Vachon as Marella kept going up, still scared- finally making the top of the ladder and grabbing the titles. After the match, Adrian Neville and Justin Gabriel were right there to congratulate their friends, Darren Young hugging Santino Marella as the new WWE Tag Team Champions held aloft the belts. Young patted Gabriel's shoulders and said 'First shot, guys- you know this!" as the two new champions celebrated to the crowd.
After the match, a video started airing: "The following was paid for by the Authority.
Stephanie McMahon: Heroine to All Women.
Hello, folks. I am Stephanie McMahon, and I wanted to give a message to little girls everywhere. Follow your dreams, and one day you too might, possibly, be able to have it all.
Now, I know none of you have as much money as I do, or as much power as I do, or as great a husband in Triple H like I do...and yes, maybe no woman could ever be as perfect as I am...but that is no reason to strive for anything less. Maybe, if you work really hard, you too could make it to be assistant manager at the fast food restaurant you have to work at. You might be able to trick one of the least-ugly, least unsuccessful men in your neighborhood into thinking you're pregnant so he'll actually marry you. It won't be EXACTLY what I have, but you too can have it all.
All you have to do is ignore the shortcuts in life. Follow authority..." A big 'no'sign was seen as footage showed of when Stephanie faked Paige slapping her.
"Don't take shortcuts to your happiness..." A 'no' sign was seen over Paige winning the MITB briefcase.
"Take responsibility for yourself. Because you, as a strong woman- even if you're not as strong or deserving as I am, deserve the best that a peasant like you could possibly get. Taking shortcuts makes you look worse as a person.
Follow my lead, and one day maybe, just maybe, you too can have it all- a pathetic, worthless pastiche of what having it all is compared to what I have, but then, it's not my fault that I'm Stephanie McMahon, and I'm just plain better than you and always will be.
This was a paid advertisement by Stephanie McMahon and The Authority."
The bell rang, as Alicia Fox was in the ring.
"Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce to you, the guest timekeeper and the guest referee- Charlotte and Eva Marie!"
The two headed down to the ramp to a chorus of boos, taking their place in the ring. Stephanie McMahon's theme hit, as Stephanie took the mic.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I must say that it's so great to finally defend my title against the Money in the Bank titleholder, which I remind you was originally created under protest after my husband, Triple H, made this match without consulting the Divas' Championship Committee to see if the challengers were deserving of this opportunity. And now, at long last, this oversight gets righted. But I want to show the Divas of the WWE just what happens when you try and cross the boss. So, I'd like to call out the smart, sexy, powerful WWE Divas right now to get a good view of this match."
Just then, Aksana, Amy Axel, Ariel, Bayley, The Bella Twins, the Funkadactyls, Eden, Fandangirl, Lana, Lilian Garcia, Natalya, Renee Young, Summer Rae, Tamina, and Vickie Guerrero all headed down the ramp and watched.
"Now, this isn't enough- even the future of this business needs to know how the WWE runs things...so luckily, I made sure to fly the NXT Divas' in to get a good view of this match too." This led to another emptying, as Alexa Bliss, Alisha Ceraso, Ayako Hamada, Becky Lynch, Devin Taylor, Jessie McKay, Kendall Skye, JoJo Offerman, Nicole Matthews, Portia Perez, Sara Del Rey, Carmella, Ivelesse Velez, Shara, Taya Valkyrie, Jessicka Havok, Josette Bynum, Kana, Kimber Lee, Lollipop, Madison Eagles, MsChif, Scarlett Bordeaux, Sarah Stock, Seleziya Sparx, Tomoka Nakagawa, and Veronica Lane all emptied to the side of this. Devin Taylor made a beeline for Stephanie and attacked, only for Stephanie to say "YOU'RE FIRED! Security- I'm pressing charges! Lock her up and throw away the key!" as she was sent off.
"Now, in case any of you get any bright ideas, sit here and watch as you see what a REAL role model for the Divas' division is, and learn that if you want to succeed here, you need to know your role, and that role is to support me as the greatest role model for women everywhere that I can be. Now, bring out the opponent."
This led to Paige's theme hitting as the crowd cheered, Stephanie doing a mom dance to her theme. Paige high-fived the fans, then said hello to her family in the stands- as Alisha Ceraso jumped Stephanie from behind, also getting fired and sent away for her troubles. Paige didn't even enter the ring as Eva Marie rang the bell and started counting, quickly, but Paige managed to get in the ring immediately. If Paige thought that she would have any fair treatment by the referee, Eva Marie, Alicia Fox, and Charlotte jumping her immediately put that out of the picture quickly. Stephanie McMahon gloated, doing a mom dance as Paige got beaten down. Seeing all she could do- Aksana jumped in the ring and attacked Alicia Fox, clocking her and starting to attack her as Stephanie shouted "YOU'RE FIRED!" to her as Paige kept getting a two-on-one. The Funkadactyls came down- then joined on the beating with a Rear View and a Girl Bye to Paige as Stephanie congratulated both of them. With the beating coming to a head on Paige, Stephanie tried to casually pin Stephanie...only for Paige to grab her leg, then reverse it to a single leg crab. Stephanie tried to make it to the ropes, then Paige started up an attack. Eva Marie tried complaining as Stephanie was being attacked, but Vickie Guerrero came out, clocked Eva Marie, then went to the top and did Eddie Guerrero's taunt before hitting a Frog Splash on her, taking her out. Stephanie saw the carnage, said "YOU'RE FIRED!"- but Paige hit the Ram-Paige on Stephanie as it happened- but there was no referee to count. A regular referee came down to the ring, but Charlotte hit Natural Selection on the referee. Stephanie said "Charlotte, you're promoted! You're the ref now!" as Paige kept the attack going. Charlotte tried warning Paige for any move she did except 'get attacked by Stephanie' as Stephanie McMahon started to take the advantage. Stephanie kept going, and went for the killing blow. Stephanie gloated, pointing right towards Paige's family at ringside, then mockingly screaming just like her before she set Paige up for the Pedigree and hit it...
...and that was enough. Suddenly, Saraya Knight jumped the stands and attacked Charlotte! Knight locked the Bridal Rocking Horse in on Charlotte, which kept her from making the pinfall. Knight kept attacking Charlotte, as a unbiased referee headed down. Stephanie made the cover, but Paige kicked out at 2.9999. Stephanie shouted, saying she'd have the referee's job for this- but Paige hit the Ram-Paige on her. Paige locked in the PTO, as Stephanie fought, but Paige slowly moved right into the middle of the ring- and Stephanie tapped out! The crowd exploded as all of Divas still on the top of the ramp rushed the ring in celebration, handing Paige the WWE Divas' Championship. Paige hugged her mother in celebration as Stephanie looked, then threw a huge tantrum. Stephanie started throwing things around and shouting "I'll fire you all! This match will be overturned! She had to have cheated!". Charlotte and Eva Marie went to Stephanie's side, as Stephanie kicked them away and said "YOU BOTH FAILED ME! I'M STEPHANIE MCMAHON! I DON'T LOSE!". Stephanie McMahon kept throwing her tantrum up the ramp.
...Maybe Stephanie McMahon should purify herself in a vat of Diet Mountain Dew.
After his and his wife's own losses tonight, Triple H led Evolution down to the ring to hope it wouldn't be 0-3 for The Authority tonight. One year after Randy Orton became the face of WWE, he had a chance to prove he was the greatest protege of the classic Evolution. With his own proteges, Ted DiBiase and Mr. Money in the Bank Cody Rhodes, watching him, Orton waited for his opponent. The crowd gave a big cheer as Batista headed down to the ring, two fingers up as Batista pointed to Triple H and Orton, then put the fingers to his throat. Batista headed into the ring and made a big attack on Orton, brutalizing him with his powerful assault. Orton tried slowing the match down to keep Batista fighting his match, using a number of rest holds to sap the energy of the Animal. Batista, though, was easily able to power out of most of these holds, keeping the match going. Batista took an advantage, using a series of Spinebusters to weaken Orton up- but Orton kept fighting. Batista went for a spinebuster, but Orton blocked the hold, then hit an RKO on Batista, which got 2. Orton kept up the attack, fighting Batista with everything he had, then went for another RKO, which got another 2. Orton, angered, signalled for the Punt- but Batista tripped up Orton, then went for an attack. Batista went for the Batista Bomb, which only got 2. Batista signalled for another- but Orton got Batista with an RKO. Orton went out, then hit a Punt on Batista, which only got 2. Orton was in shock, as he tried to get the briefcase from Cody Rhodes, but Batista pushed Orton's head into the briefcase. Batista tried capitalizing, but Triple H tripped him up, sending Batista into the ropes. Orton shook off the cobwebs, then hit the rope DDT, then went for another Punt on Batista- which got another 2 count. Orton was in shock, as Batista went for the kill. Batista went for another Spinebuster, but Orton spun around out of it and hit the RKO, then went for another Punt. The referee counted, and the crowd was in shock as his hand hit the mat a third time. After the match, Evolution celebrated. Orton and Triple H put a finger to their throats, gloating at Batista as he would leave WWE for the final time. Evolution kept the celebration up- but Batista finally attacked, hitting the Batista Bomb on Triple H and leaving with his head held high.
Zack Ryder's theme music started as a mixed reaction happened for the champion- added as their spiel started...
"MY NAME IS ENZO AMORE! I am a CERTIFIED G, and a BONAFIDE STUD, AND YOU CAN'T TEACH 'DAT!" "HOW YOU DOIN!"
"THIS RIGHT HERE, THIS IS BIG O! He's got a Body like an Adonis, AND YOU CAN'T TEACH DAT!" "HOW YOU DOIN!"
"THIS RIGHT HERE, THIS IS OUR BOY CHIAPPETTA! He's the brains of the operation, AND YOU CAN'T TEACH 'DAT! " "HOW YOU DOIN!"
"And THIS RIGHT HERE, is ZACK RYDER! He's the WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPION, AN' YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T TEACH DAT! BADA-BOOM, REALEST GUYS IN THE ROOM!" "WOO WOO WOO, YOU KNOW IT!"
"Now, I know someone up in here think they got a chance at taking my boy's title, but every time they try, Ryder here show them all the same- they come at us, they see, and...Do I gotta spell it out for you? They are S-A-W-F-T SAWFT!" Zack Ryder took the mic.
"...If you haven't seen it yet, people jumped up, they get beat down by me and my Broskis. Fandango? That skank you had didn't want a real man, whatevs, I'll take my title belt back. Big E Langston? You jump up, you get beat down. I'm the best United States Champion of all time, bro! Any man wants a shot at me...COME AT ME BRO! Any one think you got the guts to take on the champ? Who wants some of this?" Ryder started pointing to fans in the crowd cheering...
"You...whatever, you couldn't HANDLE the fire, broski!"
"You...whatever, you want some of the champ, meet me after the show, baby...who wants this? Come on, free shot at the title, get to tell your kids you fought the champ! Come on..."
Ryder waited for his opponents, as The Big O and Enzo Amore put their hands out, shouting "COME AT US, BRO!" towards the ramp. Ryder checked a watch, waiting...
"I knew no one had the guts to come at us...none of these people want any of thi-.."
WHOOOOOAA, OH OH OH! WHOA-OH-OH-OH-OH-OH-OHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
The crowd gave a surprisingly big cheer as Sami Zayn showed up at the ramp, then skanked his way down to the ring, high-fiving fans. The Big O and Enzo Amore attacked him, then threw him into the ring...
In the ring, Zack Ryder took an immediate advantage on the NXT standout, punishing him with vicious strikes. Sami Zayn, however, was able to use his incredible offense to leave Ryder helpless and punishing the champ. Ryder tried taking an advantage- if he couldn't do it himself, then by his Broskis helping him. Enzo Amore hit a DDT on him, allowing Ryder to go for a Broski Boot- but Zayn grabbed him and hit a suplex on him, then locked the leg for two. This led to The Big O getting in and going for a Powerbomb, but Zayn reversed it into a facebuster and motioned to Ryder. Ryder went for the Rough Ryder, but Zayn grabbed him, then went for the Blue Thunder Bomb for a 2. Ryder went for the attack again and went for a Broski Boot, but Zayn reversed easily, then got him to the ropes and hit the Helluva Kick on Ryder. Zayn covered, getting the three. After the match, Sami Zayn celebrated with the fans- getting the biggest debut on the WWE roster he could by winning the United States Championship.
The crowd had a big fight feel, waiting as the main event started. The crowd gave a mixed reaction as John Cena headed to the ring, the referee's shirt barely over his T-shirt for a big layered look. Cena posed for the crowd and waited for the fighters. The crowd gave a big cheer as Antonio Cesaro headed to the ring, motioning to the crowd as he attempted to get back his title belt from the man who cashed in on him at Money in the Bank. Cesaro didn't even make eye contact with Cena, staring at the ramp as he waited for his opponent. Curtis Axel showed up as the second for Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman carrying the WWE World Heavyweight Championship behind him. Heyman led Lesnar into the ring, then handed the title belt to Cena, who raised it to the crowd as both men went to their corner. The bell rang, as Cesaro started out on the offensive. Brock Lesnar tried to overpower the challenger, but Antonio Cesaro was one of the few men in the WWE who could match up with Brock Lesnar in power and awesome power offense. Lesnar tried to start suplexing Cesaro, but Cesaro was not possible for Lesnar to overpower. This was not a benefit for the challenger, who was trying to get a takedown on Lesnar to set up for the Cesaro Swing, only to have the problem of trying to take down a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. The two were at an impasse, trying to get into more of a striking match. Getting into a fight helped out Lesnar, who kept up the attack on Cesaro and got most of the advantage. Cesaro tried blocking, but you can't stop Lesnar, you can only hope to contain Lesnar. Lesnar got him into a problem- EAT. SLEEP. SUPLEX. BLOCKED, and Cesaro kept replacing the suplexes on Lesnar. Cesaro, finally getting him down, signalled for the Cesaro Swing, but Paul Heyman and Curtis Axel grabbed Lesnar and helped him take a powder. Cena counted Lesnar, but he came back into the ring at 4. Lesnar, back in the game, kept up an attack. Lesnar went for Cesaro, but he grabbed Cena and put him in between him [as Cena argued with Cesaro- which let Lesnar get a big lariat on Cesaro. Lesnar kept up the attack, EAT. SLEEP. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT., but Cesaro got up at 2. Lesnar grabbed him and tried for a Russian Neck Drop, but Cesaro grabbed Lesnar's legs and went for the Swing- but Lesnar grabbed the ropes. Cesaro tried pulling Lesnar away as Cena counted, with Cesaro dropping Lesnar. Cesaro went for an attack and tried punishing Lesnar, who got behind Cena. Cesaro tried to get in between them, but Cesaro accidentally attacked. Cena got in Cesaro's face, but didn't disqualify him. He didn't see it as Lesnar pulled his referee shirt above his head, revealing his HUSTLE LOYALTY RESPECT shirt underneath. Paul Heyman got the title belt into Lesnar, who hit Cesaro with it and threw it while Cena got the shirt off, but Cesaro got up at 2. Cesaro tried fighting, but Lesnar got a big attack going. EAT. SLEEP. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. SUPLEX. REPEAT. Lesnar covers- and Cesaro got up at 2.999 as Lesnar was in shock. Cesaro tried getting up, attacking Lesnar, then hitting the Neutralizer- as Lesnar got up at 2. Lesnar was still in shock- as Cesaro went up, and hit the Cesaro Swing on Lesnar for 40 rotations. Lesnar, dizzy, tried to get back up- but Cesaro was dizzy as well. Cesaro and Lesnar tried for an attack, but Cesaro Irish whipped Lesnar into Cena. Lesnar got behind Cena to try and get an attack, but Cesaro refused to try and hit Cena again, not wanting to risk a disqualification. Paul Heyman tried throwing in the WWE Title belt to Lesnar as Lesnar tried doing the same thing he did before to pull Cena's shirt off...
...but at that moment, no one noticed the title belt that was just thrown in the ring. Indeed, no one could even leave a peep while it happened. Later that night, it would the moment that would be seen on legitimate sports sites, even some legitimate news sites the next morning. The moment that would break the Internet in the dying moments of August and opening moments of September 2014. The moment that everyone said they wanted, but no one really thought was actually ever going to happen. The moment that would have countless thousands of children around the world cry themselves to sleep that night.
John Cena was a Paul Heyman Guy.
Antonio Cesaro was as in shock as everyone- fans, JBL, Michael Cole, and Chris Jericho were- and when John Cena attacked Cesaro, it was even more clear. Cena started punishing Cesaro with vicious rights and lefts, then grabbed Cesaro and got him up, then hit the Airplane Spin on Cesaro for 41 rotations before dropping him. Brock Lesnar grabbed Cesaro, then hit the F-5 on Cesaro for the super-fast, academic pinfall.
Brock Lesnar got another big victory to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship- but you could hear more of a pin drop in the STAPLES Center than you even could have in the Superdome at Wrestlemania 31- with the show ending as Brock Lesnar, Curtis Axel, and Paul Heyman shook hands with John Cena, Cena raising Lesnar's hand to the crowd as a scattering of garbage trickled into the ring.

SEPTEMBER 1, RAW- Vince McMahon Retirement Show
Raw started out with video of Summerslam, which led the arena to start on a somber note- which gave way to a chorus of boos as Brock Lesnar's theme hit. Brock Lesnar walked down to the ring, Curtis Axel and Amy Axel behind him- with Paul Heyman holding up the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Paul Heyman took the mic...
"...For those of you who already know, my name is Paul Heyman, and I am the Advocate for your WWE World Heavyweight Champion, the 1 in 21-1, the man who cashed in his Money in the Bank title shot BEFORE the match even happened, and STILL managed to successfully cash it in- BROCK LESNAR! I am the advocate for my client, the former two-time Intercontinental Champion, the third-generation superstar, the scion of Mr. Perfect, Curt Hennig, and the grandson of Larry "The Ax" Hennig, the next big thing in pro wrestling, Curtis Axel.
These are what all of you KNOW, because I, Paul Heyman, am the greatest mind for talent in this business. When I give my approval to a professional wrestler, that is living proof they are one of the best in this business- whether it was in ECW, on Smackdown, or as a talent scout, I ALWAYS find the best in this business and show the world how great they were. And now, I'd like to take you all back to 2000. In case you still forgot, when I was working with ECW, in the goodness of WWE's hearts, they were willing to work with me. They would give me money, they would loan me talent, and they would give me the chance to give the ECW faithful the best show they could get. And one time, in 2000, I was given the opportunity to go down to Ohio Valley Wrestling, the NXT BEFORE NXT was cool, and WWE offered me the opportunity to take any talents they wanted to ECW to make them a star. And that is where I first met Brock Lesnar, and even after he had merely been training for only a matter of weeks, I knew he was one day going to be the most dominant man in all of sports entertainment- but I also knew if I brought him in too soon, he would put every ECW superstar into a body bag within three weeks. I let him continue to develop, and then I signed him as my ace in the hole.
But before that, I needed someone I KNEW could be a top star in ECW- and I saw one other man. I knew right there this man could be the one to take ECW and make it a major promotion again. I saw his talent, his charisma, his ability, and I knew even then that I had to have him. I begged Vince McMahon to let me have him, bring him into ECW, and make this man the most extreme superstar there was- but I was told there were other claims on him by Hollywood beforehand and I was, unfortunately, refused at that time. And even then, I always held it against the WWE, because I knew, if Vince McMahon said yes that time, ECW would still be in business today.
But I waited. And when I had power on Smackdown, I knew he was there, and I could make that man a mega-star. And I gave him those chances, and he became a star, a standout, and soon, a hero. But the fans never saw what I saw in him. The fans who THOUGHT they were so smart had the greatest professional wrestler of their generation in the palm of their hands- someone who I knew was so great from the moment I first laid eyes on him, who was EVERYTHING a Paul Heyman Guy should be from the moment he started his career- and they were too enamored about a bunch of jokes in bingo parlors barely better than the ones ECW was in to realize they had the best in the business right there in front of them for a decade. It was so bad, even admitting how much I loved this man would only make people not believe in my eye for talent, that people like CM Punk or Daniel Bryan were what a Paul Heyman Guy should be, not him, even though his talent and charisma makes CM Punk or Daniel Bryan, for all of their talent and charisma, look like an utter joke.
But that's just proof of why, no matter how smart you think you are, I, Paul Heyman, am ALWAYS smarter than you. And now, it's taken 14 years for me to say this, but I am prouder than I was at the birth of my children to announce this at long last. Whether you're a child, a woman, a man-child who thinks you're an adult male, live this moment for the rest of your life!
Ladies and gentlemen, MY NAME IS PAUL HEYMAN, and I am proud to announce that I am the advocate for this man, my newest client, the newest Paul Heyman Guy: JOHN CENA!"
"Breaks" hit as John Cena headed to the ring, a chorus of "CENA SUCKS!" following as he shook hands with Heyman and took the mic.
"I've heard it all night long last night, and I've had my Twitter blowing up all day now. WHY, CENA, WHY?
I wasn't about to come out here and say you don't deserve an explanation- I knew the fans deserve to know why I would do what I did last night, why JOHN CENA would join up with Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar. I ain't going to hide it- That is not me. I never DID, I never will.
Every one of my fans know, and every one of my haters know just as well, I've been on top for 10 years now and I've been hated for 10 years now. But I always took it. I'm a big boy, I can accept it. Whether you're cheering me, whether you're booing me, you're always LOUD up in here, and THAT is what it's all about. I've never held it against the haters, and I have ALWAYS- EVEN NOW- been loyal to MY fans. I could deal with every adult male fan in this world hating me, because I knew their kids loved me. They saw me as THEIR hero, just like those adult male fans saw Hulk Hogan as their hero, and the moment I bashed Antonio Cesaro's head in last night, I know their kids were probably as despondent last night as those adult male fans were when Hulk Hogan joined the New World Order...and from the bottom of my heart, I apologize to those kids out there. I could deal with the people who didn't want to stand for anything hating on me, because of all the soldiers I met in the military who accepted me as one of their own, FIGHTING the good fight here for them. I could take 400 million men booing and saying I couldn't wrestle, because they all got washed away for each one of the 400 Make-A-Wish kids and counting that made their dying wish to meet me just once and help put it all into perspective for me. And if they STILL didn't like it and they STILL wanted to say 'Cena Sucks!'...well, now I can be honest... I was fine with you adult males saying 'Cena Sucks' because I knew when you went home, your girlfriends and wives WISH they were Sucking Cena!" The crowd gave boos as Cena continued. "...but that's all one part of the story. People ask if I turned my back on the CeNation last night, if I turned my back on the WWE Universe...I've NEVER changed my tune, even if I ally with Paul Heyman. If you are still a member of the CeNation after last night, then I am STILL loyal to you and I always WILL BE!" Cena looked.
"It's just that no matter how much you WANT to think you were loyal to the CeNation...YOU CHOSE HIM." Cena glared.
"YOU...CHOSE...HIM!
Antonio Cesaro is the biggest monster, the most evil human being in WWE history. At Money in the Bank, Antonio Cesaro had the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and he LOST that title to Brock Lesnar. He let that title walk away from the WWE, the most important thing in ALL of World Wrestling Entertainment, to be a prop on Brock Lesnar's mantel, to make the only time you'd see the title when Paul Heyman holds a replica up to make you remember what it looked like. HE BETRAYED THE WWE, HE BETRAYED EVERY WWE CHAMPION, HE BETRAYED EVERY WWE WRESTLER, AND HE BETRAYED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU when he lost to Brock Lesnar!
And still, after all of that, YOU CHOSE HIM.
You CHOSE Antonio Cesaro over ME! I've done NOTHING but work for everyone in the WWE Universe. I've done nothing but wrestle, and wrestle WELL, for all of you. I've spent my whole life working for all of you fans, whether you appreciated it or not, and when you took me for granted I took it with a smile and KEPT GOING for all of you even HARDER. My life has been 24/7 for the WWE, and I never regretted one bit of it. I get injured, I keep going for you, to the point I'm still in pain every day, but I thought you fans were WORTH THAT from me because I loved each and every one of the fans.
AND YOU CHOSE HIM OVER ME.
You made it clear, you'd rather have Antonio Cesaro, a man who LOST THE WWE THE WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP, a man who claimed he could be the World Champion, but doesn't even love you fans enough to dig deep enough to BEAT Brock Lesnar for you, than me, the person who fought and gave you everything I possibly had in this world, over and over again...and why? Because he was 'hip' and 'edgy' and 'came from the independent circuit'? Never mind you HAD John Cena, you HAD the best in this business night in and night out, it's not COOL to say you're a fan of John Cena. Your little friends on a message board might think you were lame if you dared say what is apparent to this man, Paul Heyman- to the WWE Universe, to the people who KNOW that John Cena is beyond a shadow of the doubt, the BEST IN THIS BUSINESS today, and I usually don't toot my own horn, but TOOT, TOOT! But it's not COOL to say you liked Cena. It's cool to say you're too cool to like THE MAN, and you want the Man to be evil so that it's suddenly COOL to hate him, and you thought you could change me to be cool for you to say to your friends you liked- but now, if you wanted that, well CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR, because I WILL MAKE EVERYONE PAY for DARING to choose Antonio Cesaro over ME!
I made it clear- you COULD NOT be a fan of Antonio Cesaro and a fan of John Cena! But fans tried to. And EVERY TIME a fan cheered Cesaro AND me, they were paying lip service to me, because they PROVED they were no CeNation member once you let that cheer for Antonio Cesaro leave your lips! Every time a soldier was glad to see me, the fact they let some Swiss pacifist even remotely get ONE cheer from them, they PROVED they weren't really fighting in the Chain Gang Army, they fought for a terrorist like Cesaro! Every Make-A-Wish child who spent their dying wish to meet me, THEY PROVED it was just a joke the second they wouldn't spit on Antonio Cesaro for DARING to lose the title to Brock Lesnar!
...I could rise above all the hate for 10 years, because all of the love FAR outdid all of the hate. But when you DARED to choose Antonio Cesaro over me, you spit in my face for the LAST TIME. And now, when Antonio Cesaro is put in a wheelchair or a body bag...you'll all know it's YOUR FAULT that you lost him. You could have chosen me over Antonio Cesaro, you could have seen me defeat Cesaro, slay the bully crybaby he is, and had ME instead as your hero, like it's always been...but now, you're going to lose BOTH me and Cesaro as heroes, and this time, it'll be your own damn fault.
I never turned my back on the CeNation, and I STILL never turned my back on my TRUE fans. I could deal with the people who hated Cena never liking me- but I never thought that the CeNation would BETRAY ME."
Cena scoffed.
"You wonder why I joined Paul Heyman last night? I fought Antonio Cesaro for two months because he HANDED Brock Lesnar the WWE World Heavyweight Championship when he lost to him. I fought him for two damn months because I knew the WWE Universe DESERVED the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to be its shining beacon, the symbol of this industry, the title that signifies you ARE the Face of the WWE - not something to be a piece on Brock Lesnar's fireplace.
I guess I realized all along- if the WWE Universe would cheer Antonio Cesaro, the man who took that belt from them, instead of the man trying to fight to bring that belt back FOR them...maybe the WWE Universe DOESN'T DESERVE the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Take that belt home, big man." Cena took the title from Paul Heyman and handed it to Brock Lesnar, who held it aloft...
...as Antonio Cesaro's theme hit and he came to the ring to a huge cheer.
"...well, I can't say I'm pleased to finally be right about you." "Waaah i was finawwy wight about oo waaah".
"...you can say all of that stuff to the fans...but I knew you were a hypocrite all along. The fans didn't turn their backs on you because they hate you, they did it because you were a hypocrite. You couldn't handle that YOU couldn't beat Brock Lesnar, and you knew I COULD have, and it MADE YOU SICK. After 14 years, Mr. Never Give Up GAVE UP. You couldn't beat Lesnar, so you joined him." "Waaah I weawwy weawwy could've beated Wesnar waaah".
"...are you done? Sorry, I thought we established last night that I'm the one who has Brock Lesnar's number, and YOU'RE the little crybaby lapdog for Paul Heyman" "waaaah Cena was so MEEEEEAN to me waah!"
"Keep going as long as you want to. See- three weeks time, Brock Lesnar's got to be there too for Night of Champions. Normally, I'd come out and ask for a title shot with a unbiased referee, and I'd do what you CLAIMED you wanted to do..." "Waaaah I wanna get ANOTHER shot I don't desewve at Wesnar waaah!"
"...well, you made this easier. There's other titles, other championships. I want the Championship of US. At Night of Champions- I DON'T want Brock Lesnar. You're not thinking clearly- this is NOT the John Cena these fans loved. I want YOU, Cena, in that ring. I'm going to get you in that ring, and I'm going to swing you until the blood goes back into your brain and you start thinking clearly again..." "Waaaah I wanna beated oo up oo big meany waaah".
"...I didn't hear you say yes. Don't stop me- your little boss may hate it if his lapdog costs him the man who'll take the title away from him." Cesaro left the ring to the fans' cheers.
After that, the show cut to Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield, and Chris Jericho at ringside...
"Strong words from them both, but we're taking you to some big news for World Wrestling Entertainment as a whole, tonight- as you may have seen on TMZ.com and the WWE Network earlier today, the WWE is in its biggest changeover. Our chairman and the man who took the WWE to the heights it has reached, Vince McMahon, has announced his retirement from the company he built."
"That's right, Maggle- Vince McMahon bought this company from his father, and took the company from the Northeast to become the company it's been- every person in the WWE owes everything to his genius, and now it's our job to keep going and make sure his legacy lives on forever. Enjoy retirement, Vinnie Mac...no one deserves it more than you."
"Tonight, in honor of Vince McMahon's illustrious career- The Authority has declared tonight Mr.McMahon Appreciation Night."
The first of (many) videos of VInce McMahon's achievements in between the matches occurred as the show went to break.
In the first match, Marellions of Dollars headed to the ring, their WWE Tag Team Championships being held to the crowd. The titles were not on the line here...which was probably good, since The Ascension were their opponents tonight. The Ascension started on the attack, punishing Santino Marella with everything in their arsenal. The champs tried to fight back against them, but the Ascension's attack was too much for them. Santino Marella could make the hot tag to Darren Young, but that didn't do that much for their help. The Ascension went for the attack and went for the Fall of Man- but Darren Young reversed out between the two, leading Viktor to collide with Konnor. Young then hit the Gut Check on Viktor, getting the big victory. After the match, the champions celebrated- as Konnor shouted at Viktor. Viktor shouted back at Konnor- who started attacking Viktor. A powerbomb followed, and Konnor walked off.
CJ Parker headed to the ring and talked about the injustice of last night. CJ Parker's only crime was trying to help save the planet for the world- and Roman Reigns attacked him when he wasn't ready. The earth weeps at his title victory, and he proved that for someone who claimed he fought the injustices of this world, Roman Reigns' win was the real injustice. Parker demands a rematch now that he's ready. This was fine with Reigns- who walked down the ramp. Superman Punch, Spear....and actually, it did matter that CJ Parker was ready for him. Actually, Roman Reigns' win happened QUICKER when Parker was ready than it did when he was "not".
After the match, a video package occurred, The Rock was seen talking about how maybe he was an action hero, but too often, heroes let you down. Video of various tarnished icons was cut in, finishing with John Cena's actions last night. The Rock said that the world always needs someone to have their back, someone who's willing to be their hero. He's looked throughout the world, trying to find a man who is willing to be that hero- and he found someone who'll do it for the WWE. The Rock said one of his friends, Ricky Slate, has answered that call. The WWE needs a hero, and he's here to be that man.
Sami Zayn, fresh off his big debut and United States Title victory, made his debut to the Raw fans, taking on Dolph Ziggler to go after the title. This was a bit more of a showcase for Zayn's unique offense, as Dolph Ziggler sold Zayn's attacks like death. Ziggler really couldn't get out of the gate against Zayn, as the crowd quickly got into him as the champion more and more through his attacks. Helluva Kick followed, as Sami Zayn got the big victory. After the match, Zayn celebrated as his theme played and the video went to another great moment in Vince McMahon's career...
...but this time, a video started of the Raw/Nitro simulcast, honoring Vince McMahon after he purchased WCW. The video started, but after a couple seconds, some glitches happened, as the video feed was replaced, first with footage of Evel Knievel's Snake River Canyon jump- then footage of the World Bodybuilding Federation, then footage of the XFL. The sound of McMahon talking about the WCW purchase played over all of this footage before clips of the actual video footage started- but the sound over that was replaced by "Stand Back". The footage seemed to get better- but then it was replaced by Vince McMahon kissing Rikishi and Big Show's asses, with some cartoonish stench lines coming out of each. The scene blanked out, as words were typed a letter at a time...:
WHEN YOU REMEMBER VINCE MCMAHON,
REMEMBER THE GOOD TIMES.
THIS IS THE CODE
OF SOLOMON.
Enzo Amore came out for a big match, The Big O watching his back. Enzo Amore went into his spiel, and said even if his boy Zack Ryder didn't get to win his match last night, he'll take anyone on, making an open challenge to see who ain't S-A-W-F-T SAWFT! in the back. This led to an...even worse situation than Ryder's situation, as his challenge was answered by his old NXT running buddy, Colin Cassady. Even if WWE didn't go into their shared history on NXT, Cassady...let's just say, STILL wasn't that happy about it. As the match went on, The Big Show headed down the ramp and started watching the match, which didn't show much attention as Big Cass beat Enzo from pillar to post. A big chokeslam followed from the seven foot tall guy, and he could teach Enzo a thing or two about losing. After the match, Cassady motioned to the crowd as Big Show came into the ring and congratulated him, then shook hands with him. Cassady didn't just get the win- he got one of the best mentors possible for a seven-foot prospect...and you can't teach 'dat!
Backstage after the match, Vince McMahon was sitting down, Linda McMahon, Shane McMahon, and all of Vince's grandkids surrounding him. Triple H congratulated Vince about a great career, as various road agents and legends went to Vince and paid their respects to him. The only McMahon family member not celebrating Vince's career was his daughter and the next head of WWFE, Stephanie McMahon, who was still sulking about her loss to Paige last night at Summerslam. Triple H tried to reason with his wife, saying it's not about her tonight, just because she lost her Divas' Championship. It's about Vince McMahon tonight, and making sure his final night as an active WWE Superstar is the greatest night of his career. It's about Vince, it's about celebrating his career, and it's about family. Stephanie was angry, as Triple H said that it's not just about losing titles. He's won plenty of titles, and he's not a champion right now, so that means he's lost them all too. Her brother Shane's a former champion, he's lost belts, Vince was a former WWE and ECW Champion, he lost those belts. Every member of the family's been a former champion, and every member lost their belts...only for a "Uh...I didn't!"- as the camera looked down to see the "other" family member, Vince's old illegitimate child Hornswoggle. Triple H smirked, and said "Oh yeah, I almost forgot you were part of the family...but, even Hornswoggle here lost his Cruiserweight Championship- even he's lost titles." Hornswoggle looked, and said "Uh...actually, I never lost the title." Triple H looked shocked as Hornswoggle smirked. "Yeah, going on seven years, in fact. Never once had to defend it, but...well, you only learn to talk a few years ago, no one actually asks you if you've had to lose the belt or defend it....so, I just kept the thing." Triple H looked, and said "well, okay, one McMahon family member never lost their title, but don't let it get to you, honey..."
Stephanie McMahon was in a rage, then glared at her 'illegitimate' sort-of former half-brother, and shouted "IF I CAN'T BE THE CHAMPION, LIKE HELL I'LL LET YOU BE ONE EITHER!" as the show went to another Vince McMahon video.
In Divas' Action, new Divas' Champion Paige defended the title against one of the people who helped her get to that point the most in Brie Bella. Brie had her sister Nikki Bella watching her back, while Paige's mother Saraya Knight was watching hers. It didn't seem like there was much need for either one's help, as the two put on a decent attack in the ring- but knowing how the Divas' Championship Committee was furious about this, it was for the best anyway. Brie Bella fought hard for the belt, but Paige was on too much of a high to stop, locking the PTO in on Brie for the big victory. After the match, Paige and her mother celebrated- as the Divas' Championship Committee members Eva Marie and Charlotte headed down to the ring. Charlotte talked about how, unfortunately, the match as it stood last night stands and there can't be a change of things. Sadly, Paige is the Divas' Champion- but what they can stop is this miscarriage of WWE protocol. Unfortunately, Saraya Knight is not a contracted WWE performer, so her appearing at Paige's side is officially illegal for her own safety. Knight said she could defend herself just fine against any little Barbie doll like them- but Eva Marie said that due to Knight not being a contracted superstar, this is illegal for her to be in the ring. Further attacks could force the WWE to take action against Paige for letting someone who is not a WWE employee into the ring, possibly including stripping her of her Divas' Championship- in which case the belt would naturally go to the former champion and number one contender, Divas' Championship Committee head Stephanie McMahon. Paige and Saraya Knight glared at the two and talked as the show went to a Vince McMahon moment.
After the match, video aired of Snow town, a world of snow. Enjoy the world of snow. (Yes, this is what you get when you do literal translations.) The video kept running by the whole area for a while, going towards a large castle, then soaring into it as a recognizable NXT Diva was at the end. The diva blew snow into the camera, as the video ended:
ALEXA BLISS COMING SOON
As the show ended, the recent debut Manager of Champions was in the ring announcing to the fans- only for Triple H to come out and send him up to the ramp, saying "Sorry bout that, but everyone will be okay if we don't use kayfabe for just a bit." Triple H talked about the career of Vince McMahon, and how he took the WWE to the level it has been. He said more about how the WWE has made it to this point on the legacy of Vince McMahon, the greatest promoter, booker, and father-in-law he could have. Triple H motioned to the back, as Stephanie McMahon, Linda McMahon, Shane McMahon, and Vince's grandchildren all entered the ring waiting. Vince McMahon nodded as Triple H said "We're not your only family. Every person in this arena, everyone watching at home- they're the real family for the WWE Universe. Everyone in back who does work here"- as the WWE, NXT, and Performance Center rosters emptied to pay tribute, "...everyone who worked for you..." as a series of big names from the past, including Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Rock- even Batista, the night after being retired for good, "...every one of this is your family, your legacy, and the proof even when you walk away from this business, you will never truly be gone." HHH turned to Vince and said "Pops, you've given me the biggest shoes in this world to fill, but I vow to you, and to every fan in the WWE Universe, I'll fill them for you." HHH and Stephanie hugged Vince to the crowd's cheers as everyone clapped and gave a "THANK YOU VINCE!", both roster and crowd- as the final moment hit as Steve Austin's music hit. Austin came in and said "Don't worry. I'm not mad at'cha, I'm here for the same reason everyone else is. How about one more for the road?" Vince nodded. Austin got some beers thrown in, as he and Vince McMahon toasted to the crowd's cheers. Vince drank with Austin- KICK WHAM STUNNER, the final shot being Austin giving Vince "one more for the road."

SMACKDOWN, September 5.
Smackdown started with The Authority in the ring. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon talked about how great it is that, at long last, WWE is in the control of no one but The Authority forever. Stephanie said that it was a great honor to be the head, in full, of WWE, and she made sure that World Wrestling Entertainment will be run with the same care that Stephanie McMahon takes for the Divas' Championship Committee (to boos.) Triple H said that, for his first official act as head of the WWE, he needs to do what is best for business- and that is to handle Night of Champions, on the WWE Network for only $9.99! Triple H announced every title will be on the line at Night of Champions- and he's starting with the biggest bang possible. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar will defend his title in a 10-man Championship Scramble match. Over 30 minutes, nine WWE Superstars will punish the Beast, with the chance for Brock Lesnar to lose the title without being pinned, and while pinning people during the match- just on a stroke of luck, with the last man to receive a pinfall getting the title. Qualifying matches will begin tonight for the nine men who will get a big shot at Brock Lesnar.
Smackdown's matches started as The Legionnaires were in the ring waiting for their opponents (well, that push was nice while it lasted.) Even if, it'd be hard-pressed to see otherwise, as Big Show and his protege, Colin Cassady, headed to the ring as their opponents. Big Show and BIg Cass were able to run roughshod on the Frenchmen, dominating them with vicious assaults as the Legionnaires were unable to get out of the gate. Stereo Chokeslams followed on Sylvester LeFort and Marcus Louis, as the seven-footers got a big victory. After the match, the two celebrated and posed for the crowd...
...with another video for Ricky Slate showing up.
The first Championship Scramble Qualifier started as we had a Stable Warfare Battle Royal. The Hart Dynasty came to the ring, with Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith heading into the ring alongside Natalya. Natalya stepped over the top rope and waited, as The Bo-Liever Bus headed out. Bo Dallas, Elijah Burke, Essa Rios, Alex Riley, and Xavier Woods came in as the Exotic Express headed down singing hymns, remade over Dallas. The Lucha Dragons headed to the ring, with Sin Cara, El Abejorro, and Kalisto heading in- El Torito at their side as he went under the bottom rope and slid out. 3MB headed to the ring, Heath Slater, Domino, Jimmy Yang, and Ariel all 'rocking' for the fans, before Ariel posed over the top rope, motioned, then dropped and fell outside. The Four Broskis came in last, with Zack Ryder, Enzo Amore, and The Big O entering the ring as Mike Chiappetta stayed out for the bell to ring...
...and the match began. The teams mixed it up with the stables exploding. El Abejorro was the first to fall, the result of Domino hitting a Shake, Rattle and Roll on him. Domino posed, yelling "Thank you, thank you very much"- as Elijah Burke clotheslined him out of the match. Kalisto jumped on Burke and attacked him, but Xavier Woods helped his fellow Bo-Liever take him out- but the help didn't do much, as The Hart Dynasty sent him out. Jimmy Yang and Heath Slater took out Woods, but Yang was sent out by David Hart Smith following the attack. Enzo Amore and The Big O went for a team attack on the Hart Dynasty- with Smith being eliminated by the two of them. Amore and The Big O put their arms out and yelled 'COME AT ME, BRO!"- bad idea, as Bo Dallas and Sin Cara DID, knocking both guys out. Dallas and Sin Cara celebrated- but Zack Ryder sent Cara out to knock the Lucha Dragons out of the match. With a big advantage, Alex Riley, Essa Rios, and Bo Dallas started attacking everyone else. Tyson Kidd and Heath Slater got to Riley and Rios and sent them out- as Bo Dallas begged off. Tyson Kidd posed- as Dallas threw him over and did a victory lap in the ring. Heath Slater and Zack Ryder fought, with Slater going over first- then Dallas tried attacking Ryder from behind. Ryder put his arms out as Bo Dallas did- then Ryder attacked. Ryder hit the Rough Ryder on Dallas, then set him up for the Broski Boot- finally sending Dallas over the ropes to make Zack Ryder qualify for the Championship Scramble.
After the match, The Four Broskis celebrated. Enzo Amore, The Big O, and Mike Chiappetta rushed into the ring to celebrate with Ryder. The four headed to the turnbuckles and celebrated, then each dropped over the turnbuckles and walked up the ramp...
...as Stephanie McMahon's music hit to boos and oh no oh no this is the problem with making a Prediction Contest for Summerslam anyway you get this stuff.
Stephanie McMahon came to the ring and announced that, when they said this Championship Scramble Qualifier was a Stable Warfare match, they meant that EVERY member of each stable was in the battle royal and Oh crap I actually have to run with this? Stephanie showed video from the beginning of the match, where Natalya and Ariel went over the top rope when they walked out of the ring, saying both eliminated themselves from the battle royal and I hate making prediction contests. Stephanie then said that, since Mike Chiappetta went into the ring right now, and he and Zack Ryder just walked over the top rope and eliminated themselves and REALLY. REALLY? REALLY?, that means that the only one in this match left who did not go over the top rope, and thus did NOT get eliminated from the battle royal, is the winner of this match, and thus, the person who thus qualifies for the Night of Champions Championship Scramble, and aw crap I'm really doing it, I really am putting EL TORITO in the Championship Scramble match. I hate prediction contests sometimes... Does this not prove to you I'll run with ANYTHING yet?
Backstage, Evolution is hanging out, as the lights flickered gold and black in their dressing room. A weird voice said "Ooh...hanging out in shirts and no pants...can I join you?" to the three. Goldust showed up, leering at the three...as the lights got turned on in the dressing room. Stephanie McMahon walked into the frame, and looked at Goldust, then said "...are you STILL doing this?" Goldust leered at Evolution, then said that it was just mindgames...you know no one does mindgames better than...GOLDUST.
Stephanie McMahon looked at Goldust, then said that if he wanted to play some Mindgames with Evolution? Well, here's a little mindgame for HIM. Every member of Evolution before this new incarnation brought new members to the stable has been a World Champion in their career- Ric Flair, Batista, her husband, Triple H, and Randy Orton, the Face of the WWE. Ted DiBiase and Charlotte are blue-chip to eventually be the World and Divas' Champions. And worst of all, Goldust's baby brother, Cody Rhodes, is Mr. Money in the Bank, with a title shot only two men have ever failed to become the World Champion with when they cashed in Money in the Bank. It's a virtual guarantee that at some point in the next year, Cody Rhodes will win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and join his father, The American Dream Dusty Rhodes, as a World Champion.
Now, look at Goldust. His BABY brother, Cody, is going to be a World Champion. His father, Dusty Rhodes, was a World Champion. But Goldust? You can pretend to be a master of mindgames, but what has it ever gotten you? Goldust has been in the WWE since 1995. Goldust will have been in the WWE for 20 years in 2015...and yet, in all of those 20 years as a WWE Superstar, Goldust has never once been a WWE World Champion...heck, Goldust's never even come CLOSE to being a World Champion in the WWE. He thinks being dressed for action is pathetic...well, how PATHETIC is THAT? A wrestler has to WORK to not make it to a point where they could potentially be a World Champion AT LEAST ONCE in a 20-year career...and now, Goldust's officially had Evolution pass him by. His brother's going to be a World Champion just like your father, and now, just like Goldust's always been, Goldust won't be a master of mindgames...he's just a JOKE.
Goldust glared at Cody, who looked smug towards his brother, then looked at Stephanie in front of him...then his eyes dropped. Goldust stammered, then merely said "...you...you're right. You're absolutely right." as he walked off.
The second Championship Scramble Qualifier happened, as Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns headed to the ring for a non-title qualifier. The lights went down in the arena as Bray Wyatt blew out his lantern- but instead, a voice overdubbed 'LET'S GET BIZ-ZAY!" was heard as Wyatt mouthed his "We're here.". The lights were up bright as The Funkadactyls' music hit and The Wyatt Family were confused (Erick Rowan briefly dancing a bit as Luke Harper and Dylan Vachon glared at him), Bray Wyatt saying "What happened?" before going to the ring. The lights suddenly changed to Sin Cara's lights for the match, as Wyatt and Reigns tried to fight each other. Wyatt made Roman look really strong, as Reigns punished the cult leader, who didn't seem to be on his game from all the changes. The video screen went black-and-white similar to the Vaudevillains' entrance, as Wyatt took an advantage, trying to punish Reigns. Reigns got a Superman Punch (as the match seemed greenscreened in front of footage from Hulk Hogan's Rock and Wrestling), taking an advantage- but The Wyatt Family rushed the ring to attack. Sister Abigail followed, as Bray Wyatt punched his ticket to the Championship Scramble match. After the match, The Wyatt Family celebrated as Wyatt's theme hit- only to be changed over to Guile's Theme as The Wyatts looked around.
The sheep mask was about to hit- but then the video changed over to a blue screen, as words were typed...
OTHER PEOPLE CAN DO THESE THINGS TOO.
FOLLOW THE WYATT FAMILY?
NO, FOLLOW THE CODE
OF SOLOMON.
Divas' action followed, as a NXT rivalry-turned WWE friendship continued with Paige defending the Divas' Championship against Summer Rae. Saraya Knight was seen with a front-row ticket to the action, while Paige and Summer fought each other, each person trying to get an advantage for the title. The two started trading a number of moves, neither one getting an advantage on the other- which was moreso seen as Eva Marie and Charlotte came to the ring leading some security guards. Eva Marie said "Oh, sorry- we can revoke a ticket for any reason"- as they told security to kick Saraya Knight out of her seat and send her away. Charlotte motioned for security to turn their forces on Paige- but luckily, she was able to hit the Ram-Paige on Summer Rae to get the victory. Afterwards, Paige argued with the Divas' Championship Committee and said "she did nothing!" as the crowd booed the committee.
Tag Team action followed, as Adrian Neville and Justin Gabriel took on some opponents. Zeb Colter came out with Jack Swagger, as they announced that they were pleased to introduce a new partner, one of the newest United States citizens and new Real Americans in this world- and it was their pleasure to announce him to the world as their partner, and to celebrate this New American by saying, in a clear and crisp voice, WE THE PEOPLE!. This led to The Great Khali heading out and joining them, following with a "WH! TH' PUHPUH!" as there was a big attack. Swagger was able to matchup well with Gabriel and Neville, dominating the two and punishing them with his innovative offense. Gabriel and Neville's double-team work helped save it, as the two got Swagger into a bad way. Swagger made the hot tag to Khali, who was a house afire against the smaller men. The teamwork still allowed Gabriel and Neville to take the advantage, chopping down the big man as much as possible and getting him down. 450 Splash, Red Arrow, and that was all she wrote. After the match, Neville and Gabriel celebrated- as Marellions of Dollars headed down the ramp. Darren Young said that at Summerslam, they promised Neville and Gabriel the first title shot, and they ain't running- they're here to live up to it. At Night of Champions- you guys against us for the belts- how about it? Neville and Gabriel agreed, then shook hands with the two as we got our first big match...and we went to another debut video similar to the first for Alexa Bliss.
The main event had one of the bigger matches possible, as a Championship Scramble Qualifier happened between John Cena and the slumping Ryback. Paul Heyman was right there alongside his newest client, hyping up how great Cena is, and how the fans will inevitably get the best match possible- when John Cena protects Brock Lesnar in the scramble, either way Paul Heyman will have the best WWE World Heavyweight Champion possible. Ryback was out there, and started attacking Cena with everything he had, while Cena was able to block. Cena got a AA on Ryback, and said "waaah I couldn't beated Bwock Wesnar waaah." This infuriated Da Big Guy, who hit a Meat Hook on Cena and kept up an attack. Cena had an answer for most of Ryback's attacks, punishing him more and more. STF was locked in on Ryback as Paul Heyman gloated "THIS IS WHY YOU DIDN'T MAKE IT AS A PAUL HEYMAN GUY!"...but that helped fuel Ryback, who fought hard and got to the ropes. Cena kept the hold on for 4.9, then broke it. Cena tried going up, then hit the Airplane Spin (which the announcers called the Spoiler Alert) for 25 rotations on Ryback, then dropped him into the AA. John Cena went for the kill- but Antonio Cesaro rushed into the ring and hit Cena with a big European Uppercut, then locked the Cesaro Swing in on him for 26 rotations. This got Ryback up, as Cesaro yelled "FINISH HIM!". Ryback didn't need to be told twice, hitting the Shell Shocked on Cena to break his losing streak in the biggest way possible, qualifying for the Championship Scramble and one more crack at Brock Lesnar. The show ended as Antonio Cesaro and Ryback shook hands, before Cesaro said "Well, looks like you don't have a match. Night of Champions- you and me." Cena said "Cesaro, prepare to die" as the show ended.

RAW, September 8.
Raw started out with a bang, as a Championship Scramble Qualifier happened between Antonio Cesaro and the Wyatt Family's lost lamb, Erick Rowan. Not sure why Antonio Cesaro can qualify for the Scramble when he already challenged John Cena, but who am I to doubt Monday Night Raw, right? Anyway, Rowan started out attacking Cesaro, with Cesaro trying to get an advantage on Rowan. Cesaro started the attack, locking in the Cesaro Swing on Rowan for 10 rotations. Cesaro went for The Neutralizer- but John Cena was outside distracting Cesaro. Cesaro let Rowan go- but then, Konnor showed up sans the face paint and dressed in a nice suit, then hit a stiff lariat on Cesaro. Rowan got Cesaro, then hit Greetings from the North on him to qualify for the Championship Scramble. After the match, Paul Heyman said that for a great new acquisition like John Cena, the greatest of all time, he needed to give him the best possible bodyguard as possible to make sure that his investment. With that in mind, John Cena is proud to introduce that, in conjunction with Paul Heyman, John Cena is proud to announce his new muscle behind him, Connor O'Brian. The former Konnor stood by Cena's side, then crossed his shoulders (as bodyguards are wont to do) as they stood over Cesaro....and then, a video for Alexa Bliss started to totally kill the aura of that.
Backstage, Triple H is in his office doing paperwork, when Goldust stormed in and claimed that he did say every title was on the line at Night of Champions, right? Triple H said that was the case, as Goldust proceeded to demand a match with Cody Rhodes for the Money in the Bank briefcase at Night of Champions. Triple H said the briefcase was not officially a title, but only a chance to get a title, as Goldust said he needed this match. Triple H said that if it's about his brother turning his back on him, it's over and done- you can have those matches. Goldust said that he had to level with Triple H, wrestler to wrestler. He didn't really see eye to eye with what he did, but he always respected him in that ring and he knew Triple H, under that suit and tie, would say the same about him. That's why Goldust had to level with Triple H- what his wife said on Smackdown got to him- and he vowed it would NOT be the case. He made it his mission- he would NOT be a 20-year WWE veteran with no World Championships to his name. He wants a match with Cody because he's made a promise to himself- on January 1, he officially marks his 20th year in World Wrestling Entertainment. If he can't win the WWE World Heavyweight Title by December 31, then Goldust vows to retire from wrestling. Triple H said that's all well and good- but he's not discounting what Goldust's done to say that Triple H is better than him- and Brock Lesnar effectively ended his career. Goldust said "I had seven years without Brock Lesnar around. If I can't beat him in four months- it's my own fault for waiting this long. I want the match with Cody." Triple H looked at Goldust, then said "I'll think about it..." as the show went to break.
In a Championship Scramble Qualifier, CJ Parker headed to the ring and talked about how maybe Roman Reigns had wanted to fight for the people who destroy the environment, but CJ Parker's still a Shieldslayer. And after bringing a more sustainable life to people as Intercontinental Champion, he was ready to take on the WWE World Heavyweight Title. He didn't know much about Brock Lesnar, but any man willing to support destroying the rainforest for his subs full of meat had to die for the good of the world. So, he wanted his challenger to do what was best for Mother Earth and put him into the Scramble...big mistake, as Seth Rollins showed up...and no, this time Parker couldn't get a win. Actually, Rollins beat him in about as much time as Reigns did. ...maybe CJ Parker should sit this one out, take off a few rounds...and watch this video for Ricky Slate.
In the ring, Zack Ryder headed to the ring for a Championship Scramble Qualifier- but the chorus to "Friday" started instead. Ryder and the Four Broskis' fist-pumped to it anyway- as The Miz showed up as video of outtakes from "The Marine 3" replaced their music. The match got the same effects as Goldust's, as the two kept fighting. The light show for Glacier's entrance happened for no apparent reason, as the announcers started to wonder what was going on- as JBL was replaced with the German feed, Chris Jericho's replaced with 'Number: ARMBAR!', and Michael Cole's voice was replaced with a man saying 'I am a tool' over and over again. The Miz managed to get a Skull-Crushing Finale on Ryder, giving him the win and a chance to enter the Championship Scramble, as the screen went blue as words were typed...
ZACK RYDER. THE MIZ.
THE CHAMPIONSHIP SCRAMBLE ANSWER TO ALIEN VS. PREDATOR.
WHOEVER WINS,
WE LOSE.
THIS IS THE CODE
OF SOLOMON.
Stephanie McMahon headed to the ring, Eva Marie and Charlotte of the Divas' Championship Committee at her side, Eva Marie carrying a sack as the three were pleased. Stephanie McMahon said that the first week of The Authority running WWE has been great, and she wanted to tell the little people in the crowd that she was not the ogre they think she is. Why, she too enjoyed a lot of the same hard-hitting action that the crowd has demanded- and now that her father, Vince McMahon, is out of the way, Stephanie can give the fans more of what they demanded. That's why Stephanie McMahon is out here- she wanted to give the crowd all of what they wanted for years. She wanted to bring out someone- her former illegitimate brother, Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle came to the ring, Finlay at his side in a suit, as Hornswoggle entered the ring. Stephanie McMahon said that Hornswoggle has impressed her with his tireless ability and willingness to entertain the fans- years after his shelf life had run dry, but that's besides the point. The point is Hornswoggle is a legend, the same as icons like Bruno Sammartino or Hulk Hogan. No other man can own their weight class as much as this man has for going on seven years now. But, all good things must change. And now, Stephanie McMahon says, unlike your YES! Movement that propped a B+ Player up for six weeks, the WWE Universe has finally won! Stephanie McMahon is proud to announce that the fans' voices have been heard, and now, at long last, as Stephanie McMahon's first order of business as head of WWE, she is pleased to announce that the WWE Cruiserweight Championship has been reinstated. For years now, the WWE fanbase has been demanding more of the high-flying, scientific style that the Cruiserweights are known for throughout the world- and now all of the B+ Players that have mastered the Cruiserweight Style have the most prestigious championship for their weight class in the world to fight for. Stephanie continued by saying she can't wait for such great Cruiserweights as Seth Rollins, Adrian Neville, Justin Gabriel, Dolph Ziggler, Hideo Itami, Tyson Kidd, Sami Zayn...and maybe one day, NXT standouts like Finn Balor, ACH, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi, Roderick Strong, and The Amazing Red- and yes, even, once he returns from his injury, Daniel Bryan, all competing like the great performers they are for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship and leaving the Heavyweight Division for A+ Players instead (as the crowd booed this claim.)
Stephanie McMahon said don't worry- all of this will happen soon enough. But it has to start somewhere, and that's why she's brought Hornswoggle here. Now, Hornswoggle may have kept the old Cruiserweight Title under the ring with the rest of the little people, but this is a new era, and it needs a new title. Stephanie took the sack from Eva Marie- revealing a new WWE Cruiserweight Title belt for Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle took the belt, as Stephanie McMahon said "Enjoy it, little...brother." Stephanie thought, and said "Oh, that reminds me. As an official WWE Championship again- that means at Night of Champions, Hornswoggle MUST defend his Cruiserweight Championship. Silly me...well, you've held the belt for 7 years now, you should have NO problems there."
After the match ended, Charlotte had a big Divas' Title opportunity against the champion, Paige. Saraya Knight was at ringside watching the match, helping her daughter try and keep her attack going. Eva Marie and Stephanie McMahon shouted encouragement to the second-generation Diva...er, with parents most of America had heard of, that is...but Paige was too tough an opponent for Charlotte. Ram-Paige follows, as Charlotte took a big loss. After the match, Paige celebrated and hugged her mother- as Stephanie McMahon complained that this loss was clearly driven by another attack by a non-WWE contracted performer like Saraya Knight. It's clear her appearance here, even if it had as little of an effect as a slightly underinflated football, still had a mental advantage for Paige that could cause an effect similar to cheating. That's why, it's the sad decision of the Divas' Championship Committee that Paige be stripped... as Paige interrupted Stephanie (and horny losers in the crowd waited and thought...wait, does that mean her punishment is...). Paige said this is no different than what she just did to Hornswoggle. She can say she just 'listened to the fans' or that 'this was allegedly illegal' for something as simple as her mother coming to see her matches, but every member of the WWE Universe knows it's all about one thing- Stephanie McMahon just can't take that Paige BEAT HER, clean as a sheet, at Summerslam and took her Divas' Title. She's harassing a champion like Hornswoggle solely because he has a belt, she's looking for a reason to strip her of the belt just to take it back and parade around with a pwetty butterfly on her waist like she's a five-year-old or something, and Paige won't stand for it.
Stephanie McMahon looked at the champion, shrugged, and said "When did I ever DENY that?" The fact is, Stephanie has the power here, so what she says goes, and if she wants to take a belt from Hornswoggle because he has one and she doesn't...he should thank his lucky stars that Stephanie didn't award the belt to HERSELF. And if Paige won't HAND her the title for being a great role model to girls everywhere like she is, then Stephanie is forced to TAKE the title from her, because no matter how many wins Paige gets in this ring, Stephanie McMahon is the President, CEO, and head of World Wrestling Entertainment so she CAN take that title from her to be a nice little centerpiece on the wall of her office in Stamford, Connecticut, any time she wants.
Paige shrugged, and said If Stephanie McMahon doesn't have the grapefruits your dad did, go ahead. But if you do...I'll give you your rematch at Night of Champions. I'll sweeten the deal. You give my mother a contract for one night at Night of Champions- and it'll be Paige and Saraya Knight in a tag team match against Stephanie McMahon and whichever Divas' Championship Committee member she chooses- whoever gets the pinfall, gets the title- and if Saraya Knight wins the title, she receives a WWE contract. Stephanie looked, then said Paige was on.
In the main event, John Cena got a chance to get revenge on one of his most humiliating losses- in many people's eyes, the loss that started his fall to darkness- as he took on Adrian Neville. Neville had become more of a tag team specialist as a WWE Superstar, but he was more than willing to adjust to singles action against Cena. Neville took an advantage, using his high-flying ability to dazzle Cena and take him out of the match. Cena, however, was more than willing to do whatever it took to get back in the match, punishing Neville with a number of moves. Neville fought back, and went to the top for the Red Arrow- but Cena hit the ropes and threw Neville from the top rope to the outside, where Connor O'Brian attacked. O'Brian hit a vicious powerbomb on the floor, then rolled him back in the ring. Cena hit the Spoiler Alert for 11 rotations, then moved it into the Attitude Adjustment for the big victory. After the match, Cena celebrated, then lifted Neville up for a second Spoiler Alert- as Antonio Cesaro, Justin Gabriel, Santino Marella, and Darren Young rushed the ring and attacked to save Neville. Cesaro grabbed Cena, then swung him for 12 rotations as the show ended.

SMACKDOWN, September 12.
Smackdown started with the thing everyone comes to see- Evolution cutting a promo! Triple H talks about how the final three qualifiers for the Championship Scramble will be decided tonight- and he saved the best for last- tonight, he and Randy Orton's protege, Mr. Money in the Bank Cody Rhodes, will get his chance to be in the Scramble and become the first Money in the Bank titleholder to simultaneously be WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Triple H reminded people a truly intelligent wrestler doesn't go after a man like Brock Lesnar- they go into this match and can get the final decision, getting to win the belt without having dealt with Lesnar's dominance. Goldust headed to the ring and made another challenge to Cody Rhodes for his briefcase, saying that, if Cody's really so good he can hold the title and briefcase- he won't need that belt to get the title anyway. Triple H said that he was happy to see Goldust in the ring- he was about to talk to him. He crunched the numbers, and said that the Money in the Bank briefcase was not a title belt, just a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Title- so it is ineligible to be defended at Night of Champions. Goldust said that, if that's the case- then he wants a shot at the Championship Scramble qualifiers. If Cody Rhodes can use the brains of winning without beating Brock Lesnar, Goldust can do the same- and no one has the veteran ability or the mind of Goldust. Triple H said- if it meant that much to him...since it is best for business, he'll agree. Tonight, Goldust will fight Cody Rhodes in a Championship Scramble qualifier. Cody protested to Triple H, who smirked and said "Come on. Like a washed-up loser like Goldust could beat you, anyway...I promise you'll get your title shot."
The first Championship Scramble Qualifier of the night happened, as Big E Langston got an opportunity to take his career to the next level against the Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose. Ambrose and Langston tore into each other, each man knowing this was the best way to make it to a WWE Title reign and solidify themselves as a leader of the next generation. Ambrose took the advantage, using the fact Big E had no clue how to react to him to his advantage. Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds on Langston, joining his friend and former tag partner Seth Rollins in the Scramble match.
Paul Heyman led Curtis Axel and his new bodyguard, Connor O'Brian, to the ring, before John Cena headed to the ring. John Cena seemed to be talking about Antonio Cesaro and his match at Night of Champions...but the video went fuzzy as the audio switched with audio from Ricky Slate's videos, talking about a real hero. Cena's words got subtitled, but quickly got subtitled in Swahili, then Japanese, then finally 'THIS MAN HAS NO JACKHAMMER' underneath. Antonio Cesaro headed to the ring, as the subtitles went to English- albeit the sound being in the five languages Cesaro spoke on and off. The subtitles made it clear- Cesaro was going to beat Cena back into his right mind at Night of Champions for the good of all the members of the CeNation he's forgotten about. Cena motioned, as O'Brian and Axel made a move on Cesaro- but Cesaro had the biggest backup possible, as Big Show and Colin Cassady took his side, as the subtitles changed to
"YOU DIDN'T TELL US ANYTHING
WE DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW.

OF SOLOMON."
This led to a tag team match, after the break, as Big Show and Big Cass took on Curtis Axel and Connor O'Brian. O'Brian looked dominant throughout the match, punishing Big Show relentlessly. Big Show tried fighting back against the Paul Heyman Guys' bodyguard, but Connor was too tough for him. Curtis Axel asked for a tag, but Axel made a bad move. Axel went for the Perfect-Plex, but Big Show kicked out at 1, then tagged into Big Cass. Big Cass was a man possessed, hitting the Chokeslam on Axel for the big victory.
Fandango headed to the ring for a dream shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the second Scramble Qualifier. The new attitude of the gentlemanly, Fandangoing Fandango seemed to do well to give him this shot at glory. It'd be great...if The Wyatt Family weren't going for a third member in the Scramble with Luke Harper. Harper destroyed Fandango, which was harder to deal with since Erick Rowan, Dylan Vachon, and Bray Wyatt kept up the advantage. Erick Rowan took his sheep mask, then put it on Fandango, before Luke Harper hit a big Lariat on him. Vachon then hit a Asiatic Spike on him, then Bray Wyatt finished him off with Sister Abigail. With three Wyatt Family members in the Scramble, has Bray Wyatt just clinched his first title reign being the WWE World Heavyweight Title?
Hornswoggle and El Torito were in the ring, with Sin Cara, Kalisto, and El Abejorro pointing towards a Kiss Cam. Jack Swagger, Zeb Colter, and The Great Khali were manning T-Shirt cannons, sending them out to the crowd's cheers. This led to Stephanie McMahon coming out, congratulating El Torito on his entry into the Championship Scramble match, as Stephanie said of course El Torito will do...just fine...against people like The Wyatt Family or WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. She can't wait to see that match right there (as the crowd booed.) Stephanie turned her attention to Hornswoggle, talking about the longest reigning champion this millennium, finally defending his WWE Cruiserweight Title for the first time in seven years and saying a real champion can handle any challenger...or challenGERS...she puts against him. Stephanie said, in order to make sure Hornswoggle showed this, she's given him adequate competition to show the power of a great champion, enough to rule his division this long....as Alexander Rusev's theme hit and the crowd booed. Rusev Crush, Rusev Destroy, Rusev Make Hornswoggle Humble. Hornswoggle tapped out hard, with Stephanie McMahon shouting "BREAK HIS BACK!" to Rusev. Hornswoggle went limp as Rusev broke the hold- but Stephanie wasn't being satisfied, saying "HE'S NOT DEAD YET!"- as Jack Swagger protected Hornswoggle, attacking Rusev relentlessly. Swagger held him as The Great Khali hit a Brain Chop, then Swagger locked in the Patriot Lock as The Lucha Dragons helped get Hornswoggle out of harm's way.
A video for Alexa Bliss aired, and from there Stephanie McMahon stayed in the ring, as she billed a tryout match for Saraya Knight and she would face a top Diva as her gutcheck to see if she had what it took to be smart, sexy, and powerful. This led to Saraya Knight, former SHIMMER Champion and considered one of the toughest women in the sport, having to earn her opportunity...against Eva Marie. ...yeah, no matter your opinions about Eva Marie, this JUST ISN'T FAIR! Saraya Knight, of course, destroying the "Total Divas" star. Bridal Rocking Horse, Eva Marie tapped HARD, and was left beaten. Knight celebrated- as Charlotte and Stephanie McMahon attacked her, leading to Paige helping her mother run off the Divas' Championship Committee.
The main event of Smackdown had sibling rivalry come to a head in the final Championship Scramble Qualifier, as the man who had a guaranteed title opportunity in his briefcase in Cody Rhodes took on the man who HAD TO HAVE IT, Goldust. Triple H came out before the match, and announced that he forgot a couple stipulations- as Randy Orton came out in a referee shirt, and Ted DiBiase came out as guest enforcer. If the problems weren't bad enough for Goldust before, this made things even worse, as Cody Rhodes took the advantage. Josh Mathews talked about how many chances Cody Rhodes had and how little time Goldust has left due to this self-appointed vow to retire if he can't win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship before the end of the year, talking about the injustice of it all (as JBL said he had all the respect in the world for Goldust, but it was part of the business- some guys just don't have IT to be the champion.) Cody Rhodes kept up the attack, punishing his brother relentlessly (as Eden tried acting like Goldust, only to act normal when Cody looked.) Cody hit the Disaster Kick, and went for a Cross Rhodes- but Goldust kicked out. Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase joined Cody in the ring, hitting a 3-on-1, before setting Goldust up as Cody went for Shattered Dreams...but, Josh Mathews did something right- when you call for Injustice...you get your help. Roman Reigns rushed into the ring. Spear to Ted DiBiase, Superman Punch to Randy Orton, Spear AND Superman Punch to Cody Rhodes. Goldust attacked, then hit the Final Cut on Cody Rhodes. The crowd gave a huge cheer as the three-count happened- and JBL couldn't keep from breaking character at his joy that finally, after 19 years, Goldust has qualified for the Championship Scramble match and earned his first-ever Pay-Per-View shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Goldust dropped to his knees and sobbed as his music hit, while Cody Rhodes got in Roman Reigns's face. Cody claimed that Triple H promised him he'd get A title shot- and if he can't have a shot in the Championship Scramble match- he wants Roman Reigns at Night of Champions for the Intercontinental Championship. The two glared, as Triple H made the match as the show ended...

RAW, SEPTEMBER 15: Raw started out, as it is wont to do, with The Authority heading to the ring. Triple H talked about how on Sunday, Night of Champions will be coming to you live on the WWE Network for just $9.99! Every title in the WWE will be on the line...as Stephanie McMahon made sure to mention, including her half-brother, Hornswoggle's, Cruiserweight Championship- and including her finally righting the biggest fluke in wrestling history and regaining her Divas' Championship- as Triple H continued by saying this is not just about the present, but the future of WWE- and in addition to the WWE's Championships, all three NXT Championships will also be on the line at Night of Champions, as six men and two women from NXT will get the opportunity of a lifetime and appear on a WWE Pay-Per-View event. Who knows, they could become as big as Adrian Neville, The Vaudevillains, and Bayley did when they got this big opportunity on the biggest stage of all at Money in the Bank. And all of this is just a small part of what you'll get for just $9.99, as Brock Lesnar, The Beast, will be in his toughest challenge to date- a Championship Scramble match. Brock Lesnar can dominate any man he goes in the ring with- indeed, any ten men, but this match is not just about skill, it's about luck. Brock Lesnar can pin 100 men in the Championship Scramble, but if he doesn't get that last pinfall after 30 minutes, he can lose the WWE World Heavyweight Championship...and with the order of entry, it means something to be fresh to get that last pinfall. That's why, tonight, there will be a 10-man Beat The Clock Challenge to jockey for positioning. Every one of the nine challengers has been ranked out based on where the WWE Championship Committee viewed them as being ranked as WWE World Heavyweight Title contenders before they qualified for the Championship Scramble, putting the list up on the TitanTron: CHAMPIONSHIP SCRAMBLE POWER RANKINGS: 1- Ryback 2- Seth Rollins 3- Goldust 4- Bray Wyatt 5- Dean Ambrose 6- Luke Harper 7- Erick Rowan 8- The Miz 9- El Torito Triple H talked about how you won't see one name on that list, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is not here tonight, so Triple H has given the champion two Championship Advantages for Beat the Clock: Instead of being in the Beat the Clock challenge, Brock Lesnar has been granted the right to choose the EXACT number he wants to enter the match at. This means Brock Lesnar does not have to appear in a Beat the Clock qualifying match tonight, but he can choose any man on the WWE roster he wants to represent him in a Beat the Clock qualifying match to take on the 9th seeded El Torito here tonight, and the matches will start next. In the first match on the card, we had the first of the five Beat the Clock matches tonight, as the top-seeded Ryback took on the eighth-seeded The Miz. The former WWE Champion Miz had finally made his way back into title contention, and had no interest in blowing his best chance to regain his belt. But for all of the long-term bad luck The Miz had, Ryback's recent bad luck- and his chance for his first World Championship reign and revenge on the man who gave him that bad luck in Brock Lesnar- led to Ryback trying to dominate The Miz. Miz refused to be finished off, as he kept hanging in there just enough to keep Ryback from going for the kill. Finally, The Miz didn't have anything left against Ryback's dominance. Meat Hook, FINISH! HIM!, Shell Shocked, and Ryback got the big victory at 7:34. as the TitanTron showed the current rankings for where people will enter: C- Brock Lesnar- 1- The Miz (L, 7:34.) 2- Ryback (W, 7:34.) A video for Ricky Slate started, then the show went to a break. The second Beat The Clock match started up, as second-seeded Seth Rollins took on the seventh seeded Erick Rowan. Most of The Wyatt Family were not there to help see the lost lamb of the group well due to their own qualifiers, but Dylan Vachon was there to help have Rowan's back. This didn't bode well for the Architect of the Shield, as Rowan and Vachon would torture the higher seed. Rollins tried fighting his way back into the match, but Rowan and Vachon's skill was too much. Just as it seemed all hope was lost for Rollins, Dylan Vachon grabbed some chairs with the intent to hit Choose Death on Rollins- but the referee saw it and sent Vachon back to the dressing room to the crowd's cheers. Rollins was more than able to handle a suddenly rudderless Erick Rowan after this, getting a series of amazing offensive moves on Rowan. A Curb Stomp followed on Rowan, getting Rollins the hard-fought battle...but unfortunately, as the clock showed 8:45 for the match time, not the war. The standings were reordered following the match... C- Brock Lesnar- 1- The Miz (L, 7:34) 2- Erick Rowan (L, 8:45) 3- Seth Rollins (W, 8:45) 4- Ryback (W, 7:34) Backstage, Renee Young was talking with third-seeded Goldust. Goldust talked about how, for many years in this business, he's seen the most vicious monsters known to man- Vader, The Undertaker, Mick Foley in any one of his faces, the Legion of Doom, Goldberg, Umaga, and even now, men like Alexander Rusev- and he's been in the ring with most of them and has the scars to prove it. He talks about how he's seen Brock Lesnar's meteoric career- both times he was in the WWE, and Goldust knows...Brock Lesnar's more dominant, more technically sound, more ruthless...just plain BETTER than anyone in this industry. Goldust knows, even if he's vowed to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship before the end of the year...in a fair, one-on-one match...he CAN'T BEAT Brock Lesnar...and that's where this match comes in. For 19 years, Goldust has used his veteran experience to win matches, but he's only used his mindgames to psyche out his opponents. Now, he knows- if Goldust has any prayer of winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title, he needs to use his mind to its fullest advantage. Goldust has no prayer of outWRESTLING Brock Lesnar- but he's staking his career on the fact he can outSMART Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman, John Cena, Curtis Axel, Amy Axel, and Connor O'Brian at the same time. At Night of Champions, in the Championship Scramble, he doesn't have to pin Brock Lesnar to win the title, he doesn't have to make a former UFC Champion tap out to win the title...all he has to do is pin one man, be the temporary champion once, and then have the luck of making that the last pinfall of the match and he walks out the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Goldust knows that he will NEVER get a better opportunity to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for the rest of his life than Sunday- and now, sixth-seeded Luke Harper will see just why on Sunday, at long last, the record books will never forget the name of...GOLDUST. In Beat the Clock action, Goldust took on Luke Harper. The fact Dylan Vachon was sent away from ringside before helped out Goldust, as this left Harper stranded without any Wyatt Family members to help him. This was like catnip for the Bizarre One, as Goldust managed to use everything he had in his arsenal to chop down Harper throughout the match. Luke Harper tried to fight back, but Goldust was a man possessed. Goldust used most of his biggest moves throughout his career- even stealing the Disaster Kick and CrossRhodes from Cody Rhodes, something resembling the Axe Kick from Booker T, and the Bionic Elbow from Dusty Rhodes, trying to finish off Harper as quickly as possible. A Shattered Dreams was hit on Harper, then a Final Cut followed for Goldust to get the victory. The clock revealed Goldust did it in 5:27, putting him in the catbird seat for now as the standings changed over... C- Brock Lesnar- 1- Luke Harper (L, 5:27) 2- The Miz (L, 7:34) 3- Erick Rowan (L, 8:45) 4- Seth Rollins (W, 8:45) 5- Ryback (W, 7:34) 6- Goldust (W, 5:27) Paul Heyman headed out to the ring, Connor O'Brian, Curtis Axel and Amy Axel at his side. Heyman talked about how of course, his client, Brock Lesnar can't show up every week, because too many of these cities Raw appears in aren't worthy of Brock Lesnar showing up there. On Sunday, this Championship Scramble match gives Lesnar nine lambs to slaughter. It doesn't matter who gets a title reign first, because Brock Lesnar will leave the ring with the title by any means necessary- and that's not a prediction, that's a spoiler. However, even Brock Lesnar will take advantage of any rule that gives him the opportunity to destroy his opponents- and even though only getting four minutes of Brock Lesnar destroying people is too little to be worth any amount of money, if Brock Lesnar goes in too early then it would be worse for the WWE, as he'd just destroy every man, one by one, and turn Night of Champions into a waste of $9.99. That is why, while Brock Lesnar is not here tonight, Paul Heyman, the advocate for WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, places all his trust into Heyman's decision- so, on Lesnar's behalf, Paul Heyman announces that he's splitting the difference between the two. His client, Brock Lesnar, chooses to enter the Championship Scramble match fifth- giving him four men to destroy who are tired, and five more men who may THINK they have an advantage, but no man can truly have an advantage against Brock Lesnar. As far as tonight's match, he thought long and hard about who to fight El Torito on Brock Lesnar's behalf. El Torito may be the smallest man to get a World Title shot in history, and he may be just a baby bull- but ANY competitor is a worthwhile competitor, and any competitor who gets in Brock Lesnar's way must be destroyed. Indeed, Paul Heyman fancies himself a humanitarian right now, indeed, El Torito should get down on his hands and knees and thank Heyman for this match, because he had someone demand El Torito here tonight, and he will be destroyed in such a way El Torito's life will be saved from dealing with Brock Lesnar. Tonight, Lesnar's representative against El Torito will be, at his own request, John Cena! The announcers talked about this big match, and how things will be bad for juniors in the WWE- Stephanie McMahon has just given word that on the Night of Champions Pre-Show for only $9.99!, Hornswoggle will defend his title in a 30-Cruiserweight Battle Royal. The fourth Beat the Clock match happened, as fourth-seeded Bray Wyatt took on fifth-seeded Dean Ambrose. The Lunatic Fringe had a big chance to make a name for himself with the problems the Wyatt Family already had tonight...but unfortunately, A Wyatt Family member can go alone- but Bray Wyatt has the family with him. This led to a beatdown on Ambrose as The Wyatt Family ganged up on him, weakening him with a series of vicious assaults. A Sister Abigail got hit on Ambrose, and Bray Wyatt took the lead with a win in 4:18- which, if the loss wasn't bad enough, clinched that no matter what happened in the main event, Dean Ambrose was guaranteed to be one of the two men starting the Championship Scramble as the standings showed up, the screen glitched up, then changed over... 1- YOUR CODES ARE WEAKSAUCE 2- YOU WIN THE SCRAMBLE 3- BUT YOU JUST 4- LOST 5- THE GAME 6- WE CANNOT BE STOPPED 7- FOLLOW 8- THE CODE 9- OF SOLOMON Divas' action happened as 3MB led Ariel into the ring for a big match. The sultry singer for 3MB had waited for an opponent...as the lights changed over. A huge entrance similar to Glacier's started as the fans didn't know what to make of it- signifying the WWE debut of Alexa Bliss. ...yeah, one of the jobbers of the Divas' Division vs. a debuting new superstar...we all kind of know what happened. Unfortunately, Ariel didn't seem to get any better in the ring in her time outside of the WWE, which hurt since Bliss still seemed very green in the ring. Ariel tried to fight back as 3MB tried showing her some support- but Bliss blew glitter into her eyes. Ariel tried wiping it away, only for Bliss to roll her up for the cover and the big victory. Afterwards, Alexa Bliss celebrated as Ariel looked furious at the newcomer. The main event had the fans in awe as they saw a proverbial baby bull being led to slaughter, as the ninth-seeded El Torito had to face off with Brock Lesnar's representative, John Cena. The crowd gave some boos and " CENA SUCKS!" chants as Cena went to the ring. Cena tried to shrug it off and shake El Torito's hand- but Cena deliberately shook over the top of Torito's head, instead kicking the baby bull in the stomach. What followed was something that was sick, twisted, and demented, as John Cena destroyed the bull with whatever moves he could get. Cena quickly just grabbed Torito and went for the Spoiler Alert, spinning the small man for 50 rotations in the move, then hitting the Attitude Adjustment on El Torito as the crowd booed. Cena motioned to the crowd, allowing El Torito to roll out of the ring. Cena posed for the fans and did his taunts to the crowd (who weren't having it), only for El Torito to come out of the other side of the ring, and...what hormones DO they give cattle these days, anyway...because for some reason, it looked like El Torito doubled in size. " El Toro" started twerking for the crowd, as if to make it clear he was the same person...but the fact that El Toro then proceeded to attack Cena, then hit a Neutralizer and the Cesaro Swing for 15 rotations...you know, I'm not much for suspending the magic of the performance, but I REALLY DON'T THINK that's El Torito there. The referee, though, imagined that a midget dressed as a bull could suddenly grow three feet in a manner of seconds, as he took the cover at 4:12 to officially give El Torito the win in Beat the Clock, guaranteeing that he'll enter the Championship Scramble last. The standings went up giving El Torito the big victory- and then El Torito jumped into the larger bull's arms- then unmasked the larger one, revealing Antonio Cesaro underneath. The show ended as Cena stood humiliated, then shouted at Cesaro.
