Hmmm, so all that's required to be a Wyatt member is to be frustrated and directionless?
So, 90% of the roster then.

I can't imagine who it could be that would make me miss Rowan. Not that I hated Rowan, he filled the spot well enough but was nothing but a lackey. Definitely not the part of the act I watched for.

I think Alvarez just meant that the new guy isn't a Vintner

If he knows who it is then why not either say who it is or keep the hell shut up, instead of giving us click baitey tidbits like this. He might as well have said:
"this Family got a new member, you will never guess what happened next"

Let's be fair here, this comment wasn't written in the Observer itself but just in a podcast that the website does so I'm not going to call it clickbait since other people reported it that way.
If it were me, I wouldn't have mentioned it at all but then you get a lose/lose scenario of people accusing you of not really knowing if you mentioned it after it happened rather than before so I don't know.

I feel like a lot of the frustrations people have with Bryan and Dave come from other sources quoting them out of context while giving away their content. This was a throwaway line in the middle of a conversation. He was not advertising the information as a scoop or anything. Anyway, as soon as he said this, I had a weird feeling that it would be Fandango.

If utilised properly he could fit into the upper midcard, maybe even higher.

It's what happens with sports rumours, especially in football/soccer where everyone is quoting other publications and spinning it to attract more hits. But again, this was Bryan saying things as he usually does and people taking it as though he's confirming something which he isn't.

I don't think much would make me think, "Yes, Erick Rowan would improve this situation to be sure." Same here

That'd actually make a lot of sense. It's kind of a heartbreaking story just in kayfabe alone, this guy who is perpetually searching for an identity and a sense of belonging. He thought he had it by mimicking Miz, but that went to hell for him. He thought he'd get it by mimicking one of the most beloved figures in wrestling history in Savage, but that hasn't clicked. Where could one turn when all hope is lost? A Family could be a starting point.

Bo Dallas would make sense. The Ascension would make TONS of sense. Sandow would make sense, as possibly would Curtis Axel. Fandango would make sense.
In order to disappoint it needs to be somebody who it wouldn't make sense to be. So I'm gonna guess Ambrose.

Bray Wyatt is supposed to be a backwoods cult leader. In order for that gimmick to work, he needs followers. Cults prey on people at their most vulnerable and it doesn't matter how old you are or what you look like or where you're from as long as you're easily suggestible and willing to take up the cause. I think the Wyatts need multiple new members. I don't want the Family to get nWo bloated, but a "cult" needs more than three people. What made The Flock work is that everybody in it was seemingly very disparate. Scotty Riggs was a pretty boy. Billy Kidman was just a (heroin-addicted) kid. Lodi was kooky. Despite their differences, they all fell under Raven's sway. That's what Bray needs. Not everybody needs to share his aesthetic. It's more about the commitment to Bray. Lost souls are what's needed. Somebody suggested Fandango. I think that would be a great choice. Bo works, too. My potential picks would be:
Adam Rose, Fandango, Slater, Bo Dallas (Obviously for the obvious reason) The Ascension (Older Gimmick), basically guys who could use the rub.
But seriously why is Brad Maddox not with them? He's fit the Wyatt Family Gimmick for like a year and a half now...
