Supposedly R-Truth asked Vince about his thoughts on the situation, he reportedly replied "Excellent question Shelton!"

So is WWE erasing him like Benoit or is this just in the mean time?

My thoughts on this are pretty simple: Hearing about this is heartbreakng, considering how much he's done to grow wrestling and take it to places that it's never been before, but with that said, him saying those words and making those statements, including how he said them in such an extreme way, brings out my short temper, and I will say that while it would be weird to have that part of wrestling history removed from a whole bunch of stuff, I completely understand why they did it, and I'm not complaining one bit about it.
No sympathy for him whatsoever.

I think we need to lighten the mood, and maybe show some love to each other, so here you go. Excuse me, sir, do I need a credit card to ride this train?

To again take a different angle on this, how does WWE "sell" the WrestleMania history? Hogan was a major force during the first nine. We could argue that 8, at least, focused more on Savage-Flair, and that 9 ended with Bret losing the belt to Yokozuna, but will this become only more proof to the McMahons that focusing on one guy to be the One might be a mistake? I think it's simply don't talk about it until it's safe. I know over time this will blow over, there are gonna be people who don't want it to blow over but I don't think the scope of this is as big as it's made to be right now. Hulk might have to go make the rounds with apologies and lay low for a while but I think there will be a time where WWE will be able to comfortably cash in on Hogan again.

After thinking about this for a bit:WWE will have Hogan back in a bit. Like, a year or two. They're definitely just trying to avoid any fallout from the guy.
Should he have been fired? Hells yeah. His job with the company was to represent their brand as a wholesome, inclusive, fun entertainment product, and he's aggressively terrible at that right now.
Should he have been Benoited? Nope. He's a great wrestler who said some racist stuff. A lot of guys have done worse and stayed in the E's archives. Benoit was different, because his situation had a lot to do with the WWE, and people actually died from what he did. Hogan called a guy a word.

I doubt they're going to deny Hogan's influence on the business and pretend he doesn't exist. They're just not going to actively promote him or keep him on the roster and appear to be lending to support to his racial views/comments. I feel that as the need arises, they'll be more than comfortable mentioning Hogan's accomplishments like slamming Andre, wrestling Warrior, etc., but there will be larger focus on other moments/matches from the likes of Austin, The Rock, and Cena so Hulk doesn't have the main spotlight. His successes will still exist, they'll just be downplayed as far as historical significance.

That doesn't make me a "racist". I'm not letting a word taint my perception of Hulk. Sorry. I've been a Hogan fan too long for that.

I'm not sure what to think of Hulk anymore. Racism is bad. Very bad, no matter how you slice it. Still, he was one of my favorites, but that shouldn't excuse his behavior.
I just don't know, man...

So is WWE erasing him like Benoit or is this just in the mean time? Most likely until everything settles down but there are rumors flying around that he'll be removed from the HoF. Which is just opening another whole can of worms, honestly.

How dare all you people say Hulk Hogan's a racist! Here's a long ass paragraph explaining why he's not, and why society is wrong, this and that. Despite the fact that he has outright said he's a racist. But you all are wrong, society's wrong, poor Hulk Hogan. Won't someone help this man?

So is WWE erasing him like Benoit or is this just in the mean time? What Hogan said was awful, but not Benoit awful. Honestly I suspect that the WWE is going to wipe him away until the heat dies down then have casual mentions when talking history. He may never have a job with the WWE again, but the WWE network will at least have time stops with his matches. Hogan is free to enjoy spaghetti-Os.
