Has there been anything on screen which has been designed to actually be humourous and it actually made you laugh? I was wondering since I think most of the backstage skits they used to do were actually quite funny to me about 8-10 years ago. I remembered one random backstage were RAW GM Regal was trying to take Jim Duggans 2x4. Regals starts doing penis innuendo after Duggan refuses to hand it over. "I just want to feel it in my hands" and ending with "I DEMAND YOU PUT YOUR MASSIVE PIECE OF WOOD IN MY HAND RIGHT NOW!" Ron Simmons appeared and did his usual DAMN and I thought it was hilarious. Stuff these days is cringeworthy....it's that damn PG. I can't believe people watched Swerved either as it looks so set up.

Damien Sandow's actually made me laugh a few times. The groans and thoughts of "what the f*** are they doing wasting him" might outnumber the laughs, but I have laughed.

The segment involving Vince, Shelton, and Trish that poked fun at the uproar over the commercial starring Terrell Owens and Nicolette Sheridan. That made me laugh. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrmAkJtJOHc

Santino had his moments, more than many. I remember laughing at bits in wwe but it's been awhile. Then again, I often catch the highlights on the website since I don't have access to the shows.

I never found Santino funny. He always seemed like the comedians you see on TV who try way too hard to make everything a joke and it tends to just fall flat. WWE comedy usually fails for the same reason, when they're trying way too hard to be funny and you have Cole and JBL fake laughing along saying "We are having fun tonight, Maggle!" When JBL says that you can guarantee that we are not having fun.
They also tend to fall flat when they give a guy a promo full of insults I'd have felt embarrassed using when I was 8 years old. Like Roman Reigns saying Suffering Succotash and Alex Riley saying Vickie had Grim Reaper breath.
WWE comedy tends to succeed when they leave it to certain times. Kurt Angle was usually comedy gold, Christian was hilarious, Regal was always good for a laugh and in more recent times Ryback and Heyman were hilarious together, New Day make me laugh, Hell No had their moments and Goldust usually entertains.

Kurt Angle calling Rey Mysterio a little boy that he's gonna get on top of and the escalation afterwards. He played the frustration of wanting to sound tough but ending up sounding like a pedophile really well. "Damn it Rey just come out here already so I can kick your ass!"

I agree with Santino (until near the end), E&C, The Commish, Angle, Regal and The New Day, will add Bo and Austin.
As a general rule the humour has to come naturally from a well established character. If the writers force awkward lines on unsuitable characters or script wacky situations it rarely works.
Owens is a great example. His ridiculous commentary on NXT followed by the most hypocritical promo ever was great because it fitted his character perfectly. That Chernobyls line on Raw though? It was clearly forced upon him by the writers, made little geographical sense and as a result it fell flat.

The DX segment with Shawn Michaels superkicking "Stan", then storming down the corridor superkicking everyone he sees.
Pretty much the only DX segment of that run or subsequent runs that made me laugh.

WWE is unintentionally funny to me anyway because of how ludicrous it is.
The HHH/Taker cell match at WM28 is a masterpiece, but I laughed through most of it. HHH with his ridiculous tough guy scowl bellowing "END IT SHAWN! OR I WILL!" over and over was so funny to me for some reason.

My friends and I all got a kick out of HHH lining up his sledgehammer with Taker's head like the match was suddenly going to turn into a Gallagher show.
