1. Royal Rumble was booked in a way that people turned on him
2. Has made him face the local men 2087 times in the last few months
3. Markets him like John Cena
4. Makes him tell bad jokes.
5. Refused to turn him heel, despite having the biggest heat since maybe the early 2000's
I could go on, but it seems any time there is a choice to help is character Vince decides on the taking the worst possible option almost every time
The guy was a great arrogant heel in FCW. He does the role better than Rollins, yet Vince seems obsessed with making him the super wholesome babyface.

I still can't believe they did that. Even if Bryan didn't win (he shouldn't have) they could have handled it so much better.

Nah Roman Reigns is just doing fine. More people are warming up to him and he's getting better in the ring and on the mic. That way when he does get another push, he won't have a huge backlash. Worst thing they could of done was kept pushing him as a baby face Samoan knockoff Cena 2.0 and never turning him heel.

Was this thread just released from a time capsule from January?
Or did we have so many ones just like this back then it somehow broke the space-time continuum and spilled some of them out now?

I think Roman is in a good place now, he's basically doing what he should have been doing since the Rumble push of just being a soft spoken killer having badass PPV matches.
I think it's lazy to just turn a guy heel as a failsafe for all face pushes, turn him heel so what? People can just cheer him again? I'm glad they stuck with it and hopefully over time the right feud will take him to the next level. I don't think it's realistic to expect him to reach John Cena's level but doesn't mean he can't be a main eventer.

If the rumble was booked better (in a way that didn't come off as Roman is the only important guy here) it might not have been bad... but the rumble was absolutely appallingly booked.

He's improving all the time I think. I was so disappointed when he won the Rumble and his booking from then until Wrestlemania was the absolute worst. It was as if Vince was intentionally trying to ruin him forever. The suffering suchotash promo is one of the absolute worst promos I can ever remember.
They did the right thing having him lose at Mania and since then he's slowly getting better and his booking has been much simpler and so much better. I'm not sure I like this mini losing run he's on, or his mini not winning run anyway, but other than that he's doing well.

The Miz got/gets bigger heel heat than Reigns ever did. Roman's boo's where never as bad as people claimed. That's flat out not true, there's been more than one occasion, particularly the Rumble, where he was getting booed to shit. I went to the Raw in the UK, and Roman got booed more than anybody. That may be a biased reaction because of how rarely we get shows, but basically everyone got a mixed reaction simply by virtue of how rarely we see anybody, Cena got a pretty split reaction, but Roman's was heavily in favour of booing over anything else. His promo did turn the crowd slightly, yeah, but they largely cheered individual things he said (as with Cena) than him, and he was still getting booed after it.

I be honest I watched RAW pretty sporadically around that time. I didn't like Roman either, but I never felt like his boos where that bad. Some things just don't translate well on TV. When I went to RAW, Cena was heavily booed and it was very loud. I rewatch it on TV and it's not nearly as noticable.
