Been watching a good few 2000/2001 era PPV's on the network recently and many (I think all!) have featured Too Cool. Which leads me to my point, The Worm has got to go down as the worst finishing move of all time? As much as it got the crowd on its feet, ending the whole shebang with what always looked like an incredibly ineffective 'chop' move to the face/throat was just awful.
It was so bad, even Ambrose and Ziggler wouldn't be able to sell it.
But that opens the floor really - what in your opinion has been the worst finishing move in history?

The very second Rey started pinning guys after the 619 was when it became cemented as the Worst Finisher in the History of our Sport.

The very second Rey started pinning guys after the 619 was when it became cemented as the Worst Finisher in the History of our Sport. To be fair, he'd often pin them with a different move like a seated senton or a falling splash after the 619.

Big Show's WMD. An extremely regular looking punch that sometimes isn't as showy as the regular punches that are shrugged off earlier in the match.

I'm not sure if anyone can make the pumphandle slam look not awkward.

The Wasteland has to be up there. What previously was just a way for people to end a fireman's carry/airplane spin suddenly became a top finisher?
Speaking of fireman's carry moves... I'm not a big fan of the AA either, but it's at least slightly better than the Wasteland.
But yeah, there's far too many even worse moves out there. I gotta find a decent copy of Slaughter's noogie and get GIFmaking!

Solomon Crow's rebound splash from about 6 inches off the floor.

The very second Rey started pinning guys after the 619 was when it became cemented as the Worst Finisher in the History of our Sport. I have never in my entire life understood anything less than the dislike people have against the 619. He's kicking a dude in the face with both feet; yes, it's plausible as a finisher (not that it ever has been anyway, as someone already said; it's 100% of the time been a set up). And this is where people say it's contrived, even though he always drop-toe-holds or dropkicks them into position. Totally have never gotten this.

The 'AA': It has mutated from a Death Valley Driver (which loooks fantastic when done correctly), to a Fireman's Carry Takeover to a move I didn't even notice had been used in the last Cena/Owens match. It was almost like Owens had tripped over or something. And his 'No Pressure' STF. Seriously - it looks like he's just relaxing on his opponents back, having a rest......
Jericho's 'Breakdown' as well - the most awkward looking finisher this side of 'The Stroke' - especially when trying to pull it off on the announce table.....

It was almost like Owens had tripped over or something. I'm not being a dick here, but so many people say this, and I have never once seen him do it as a DVD. It's always been a fireman's carry slam when I've seen him do it. Do you have any footage of it being a DVD? As for finishers, the Worm doesn't suck because it was over. Least effective looking? Sure. But wrestling is about crowd reactions above all else, and people loved the Worm and cheered when he did it. If it wasn't so over, I would also cite the 619 simply because I hate how it looks - but it's at least more logical as a finisher than the immediate follow up, which was the world's smallest man jumping on people. At Survivor Series 2005, Big Show takes like six finishers in a row and the one that finally finishes him off is a man less than a third of his size landing on him from three feet up.
