I don't know how many other folks on here are UK viewers, but this was literally the most baffling episode of Impact I've ever seen, and that's saying something.
I feel like I keep up reasonably well just by reading the spoilers on here (the most recent intergender clusterf*** notwithstanding), but this episode was... something.
I didn't watch all of it, but here is what I witnessed, roughly in order.
- Dixie announces Jeff Jarrett for the HOF - Hilariously self-indulgent video package about Jeff Jarrett - The Slammiversary KOTM match aired, with new commentary from Josh and Pope acknowledging that it was a replay, but still calling the action like they'd not seen it - A street fight between Bram and Magnus. I thought Slammiversary was Magnus's last TNA match, but this Impact is from after Slammiversary? - A chain match between Eric Young and Rockstar Spud, for some reason - A table match between Bobby Roooooo and Matt Hardy for who would face EC3, which Matt Hardy won
Is this how Impact aired in the US, or are we now getting an even more insane version of Impact?

I haven't seen it yet, but yep sounds like what we got in the States. They taped things before Slammiversary to air after it, so that's why the Magnus thing happened.

I also forgot to add, Serena debuted (I would've thought she'd at least have shown up in the knockouts thread), and there was no mention of Mickie being pushed in front of a train, she was addressed as being active and ready for one more match despite not being on the show.

Yeah and the KOTM match aired because they f***ed up and signed Hernandez to a deal and taped months (as in more than one) of TV with him as a big part of it only for Lucha Underground to point out Hernandez was under contract to them, TNA had no right to use him and refuse to let TNA buy him out of that deal forcing TNA to cut and alter months worth of programming as well as causing MVP to walk away as Hernandez was a major part of his crew and storyline as well as scapegoated him as he recommended Hernandez to them.

And did you read the whole of my OP? Not really. Now I did. To answer your question. Yes, it aired like that.

I tuned in for the first time in ages to be greeted by 3 gimmick matches. 3! When will they learn? I dozed off and woke up as WrestleTalk TV started. Needless to say I went to bed.......

If you think that episode was insane, just wait until their most recent batch of tapings finally make it to air!

Hi, mainly registered for the spoiler taping thread (I'm not a rocket scientist, but I am a man of science so I'm going to have a run at making them make sense.
What I should point out for US fans, is that all the references to Pit Masters etc get cut from our episodes - so a lot of that promo time is taken up with TNA archive footage. At the moment, it's literally chapters of the DVD documentary on Kurt Angle, but we used to get the IMPACT:Unlocked interviews when they were still doing those.
We also get a big AO1 Productions credit on our shows, and have had them on and off since the day EC3 won - which is before the deal was announced IIRC.
So our version is a little bit stranger, and hyped to the max.

I was in London last week and I will say that it's pretty awesome that they show a lot of classic Impact. But anyways, in regards to the episode, apparently Lashley fought Hernandez in a qualifying match for a No. 1 contender's match for the TNA Title. Those other three weird matches on the card were also leading to the No. 1 contender's match, so I think they just presented things without context. It adds to the "this is the end" feel, but I think it's just due to the Hernandez disaster. I think when we look back on the company's legacy that the Hernandez gaffe will be remembered as the last big TNA disaster moment.

I think they still have a few big tna disaster moments left in them yet.

Yeah, Slammiversary aired live on PPV on June 28th, these episodes were taped on June 24 to 27, and there were a number of people whose contracts were ending after Slammiversary so they were written out or lost championships before the PPV.

I knew matches were taped beforehand to air afterwards, I just didn't know that people literally left after Slammiversary having taped matches that were later in chronology but earlier in actual time...
