The two lock up, with Aries quickly gaining an edge with his technical experience. He moves Kalisto into a hammerlock, then kicks the legs out from under him! Elbow drop to the leg, and a cover from Austin.
1!
Kalisto kicks out.
Aries seems bent on taking away Kalisto's speed and agility advantage. Smart plan by A Double.
Aries lifts Kalisto up for a knee breaker, but it's countered into a Frankensteiner! Kalisto stays on top for the cover!
1!
Aries kicks out.
Early going of the match, Kalisto showing his speed off. Aries needs to put that technical acumen to use.
Kalisto runs the ropes and goes for a senton, but Aries rolls out of the way, sending Kalisto crashing to the mat. Austin wastes no time and pulls Kalisto over to the turnbuckle. He wraps the masked man's legs around the post, modified figure four!
Continuing to work the legs! Excellent strategy by Aries to ground the luchador!
Aries breaks at the count of four, and rolls back in to cover!
1! 2!
Kalisto kicks out!
Aries needs to maintain this pace if he wants keep the advantage over Kalisto. It's working so far.
Aries shoots Kalisto into the ropes and goes for a clothesline, but Kalisto ducks underneath. He bounces off the ropes, twisting crossbody! Cover!
1! 2!
Aries kicks out!
Kalisto is getting a bit closer. Aries looks like he's starting to wear out.
Kalisto climbs the top rope, but Aries catches him with a forearm! He tries to throw him onto the apron, Kalisto lands on his feet, but falls to his knees!
What agility from Kalisto! But the work done on his legs is starting to show.
Kalisto tries to regain his bearings, but Aries nails him with a dropkick, sending him to the floor! Aries charges, suicide dive!
And both men are worse for wear after that move! It may come down to whoever gets to their feet first.
It's Austin who's back up first, as he pulls the masked man to his feet and throws him back in the ring. He signals for the 450 and climbs a turnbuckle, but Kalisto tries to cut him off!
Looks like there's still some fight left in Kalisto!
Kalisto climbs to the top and tries to knock Aries off his perch, but Austin holds on for dear life. Kalisto continues to pepper Aries with shots, but Austin cuts him off with a headbutt! Another headbutt sends Kalisto tumbling back to the mat!
Looks like this is Aries's opportunity!
Austin steadies himself and leaps, 450 Splash connects!
That's going to do it!
Aries covers!
1! 2! 3!
Here is your winner, and the NEW Intercontinental Champion, Austin Aries!
Aries has done it! Austin Aries is the new Intercontinental Champion! And if his plans for holding the title from a few weeks ago remain intact, we'll be in for some very interesting shows under his reign. Congratulations, Austin!
Aries poses with the belt as we fade backstage.
Samuel Shaw sits in a corner in the room that never has light, and this time, he's wearing a hoodie, looking down so that his face can't be seen. His hands shake as he takes them out of his pockets.
Evil only wins, if all of the good do nothing at all. And in the past month, I've done so much good. And yet, when Jeff Hardy pinned me three days ago in that tag match, I didn't feel good at all, I felt... dirty. Because I knew that I let a bad, bad man get the best of me. And I know that tonight, that if I fail, if a good thing happens to a bad person.... that's bad. Jeff Hardy as a role model, and a leader, would turn this Wrestling Universe into a shithole before it could even begin. All the people that I've tried to help, they would be silently suffering, and there would be nothing that I could do from that point on. And I don't just feel dirty about that, I feel... angry. And that's my topic on this all important night: How do I deal with anger issues? How do I stop my rage from ruining my bonds with friends and family? It's one of the most common emotions, especially if you are on one side of the political spectrum talking to a person from the other side. I won't get into that, but what I will get into is how the reasoning of anger differs from person to person. In fact, some of you watching tonight might have been angry with me. Furious over how I say that I know what crosses the line, as I proceed to jump right over it. The things I say and do, some people say that it's not at all different from the version of me that would do anything to win Christy Hemme's love. To that, I say, while they do have a point in saying that the me of the today is practically an exact replica of the me of the past, compare what your angry about now to when you were angry back then: I made a woman fear for her life, and I often sniffed articles of her clothing in and out of her house. I carried a mannequin around that had her exact hair shade and color.... were you right to protest then, absolutely.
.... But why are you protesting me preventing an addict, who continued his addictions after multiple warnings that he needed to stop? I'm not even speaking from a straight edge perspective, I'm speaking from a realistic perspective: Doesn't it make you angry, that he could have been so much more, but his addiction always left something to be desired? Didn't it make you angry, when he was in no shape to compete in Japan, and terminated a working relationship with the greatest foreign country for professional wrestling? Didn't it make you angry, when he was in no condition to compete in a main event Pay Per View match, and you ended up witnessing a world championship match last less then a minute? Imagine him as world champion right now: Imagine his outbursts from constant travel, a body always staying in motion without a break, because so much is to be expected of him. Imagine the urge for him to drink or smoke or take something then. Imagine his moving body becoming a body, because he just wouldn't be able to hold himself up anymore. Imagine the public relations outbreak. Imagine these doors closing, and then just like that, wrestling as a whole is as dead as him. Wouldn't that make you angry? Not just a promising career that turned into a tragedy, but also the fact that he would end the world of wrestling as you knew it, because he became champion over myself? With all that in mind, why are you angry at me now?
Is it because you think I'm trying to brainwash people? That once I win this championship, I'm going to be in the center of the balcony with all of my followers, making sure that my power is permanent, and that my persecution would be painful? Let me tell you exactly what I would do as WWE Heavyweight Champion: I'd continue to help people. That's it. I would listen to the problems of the suicidal, I would listen to the stories of the mentally ill. I would support the outcasts and the people who feel that they are never going to make it past a certain place. What do you people think I am, part of the problem? Because of how harsh I can get? We already know he's a bad man, so why complain why I make desperate measures during desperate times? If I break Jeff Hardy's arm in that ring tonight, it's because he's resisting. If I turn Jeff Hardy's face the color red, it's because he's not listening. Make no mistake about it, I WANT to help Jeff Hardy. He's a bad man, and I want to make him good. And it pains me that he doesn't feel the same way. I still have to put out the flames that this arrogant arsonist has created, and don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about: Because of his victory two days ago, people are talking me down and praising Jeffery ten fold. He's gaining love from groups of men and women and others more, and that is why I sit in this corner with my hands shaking, angry.
But not because I am worried about losing. I know that I've already won. It's just that, I'm angry about the fact that in order to knock him off, I'm going to have to very nearly kill this man. Not that I have a problem with that, it's just sad when you think of what I could have done for him, you know? My tip to all of you, is to know when your anger is justified. Once I win in mere moments, don't be angry, be happy: Because this place will always be interesting, with me as the ringleader. And now, let's say a final prayer, for Jeffery.
Shaw reaches into the pocket of his hoodie, and takes out an 8 by 10 of Jeff Hardy, placing it down onto the ground.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, may Jeff accept from my hands whatever kind of death it may please you to receive this night, with all its pains, penalties and sorrows;
Shaw reaches into his boot, and takes out a piece of a razor blade, while holding out his hand. He cuts into the palm of his hand, a circle of blood filling up his palm.
In reparation for all of his sins, for the souls in purgatory, for all those who will die today and for your greater glory.
With his bleeding palm, Samuel draws out a red X in his blood over the 8 by 10 of Hardy.
Amen.
And now, it is time, for me to collect my reward.
..... Permission for consent?
Jeff Hardy is backstage. He sits on a crate, pensively. His head is down, and he talks softly, in a reflective tone.
The year was 1994.
While Hardy talks, we see footage of a young Jeff Hardy in the ring.
I was 17 years old, and all I could think about was wrestling, man. I told them I was 18 even though I was still only 17. I couldn’t even legally have a beer yet, and here I was squaring off against the sport’s best. It was fun, man.
We see Hardy getting pummeled by superstars like Razor Ramon and the 1-2-3 Kid.
Sure, I lost a lot, but every night I went out there with something to prove. Every single damn night Jeff Hardy was going to give the fans a show, win or lose. And that’s exactly what I did.
Hardy’s voice gets louder as clips play of his greatest moments. The TLC wars, Team Xtreme, Jeff vs The Undertaker, various Swanton Bombs.
I stood side by side with my brother and we lived, man. Every single show for us was another chance to make history, to live side by side with the gods of the sport. We tore the house down, and then we’d get up and do it again. Sure, those years weren’t always good, but even through tragedy we’d overcome. We always overcome, man.
Hardy sighs.
Except for when we didn’t.
Clips play of Hardy getting injured, along with news blurbs relating to various failures.
I had problems, man. Every high I’d get competing just wound up leading me to another low. I was addicted to pills, to alcohol, anything that’d take the edge off. When I was a kid, I used to dream about the monsters I’d fight inside the ring, but I never thought the toughest opponents would be my own personal demons.
Footage plays of Hardy in TNA during his first run.
A certain federation in Orlando took me in, and I’m forever thankful for that. When we sink to the lowest depths, there’s nowhere to go but up, and Jeff Hardy was determined that he was going to rise to the very top, man.
Clips play of Hardy in the WWE for the second time, winning the WWE championship and winning various other titles.
I came back to the WWE and I was on fire, man. Forget drugs, forget alcohol, there’s no high like knowing you’re at the very top of your game. I was living my dream. I was a rock star. Some people don’t understand, there’s no feeling like being the very best. You don’t forget stuff like that. You...you just don’t.
But I guess not everything’s meant to last.
Clips play of Hardy losing to CM Punk, and various headlines regarding his personal life.
Things went downhill, man. They...they went downhill fast. One minute I’m the world champion, the next I’m hearing that my house burned down and my dog died. Everything happened so quickly. I was in a car crash. My brother turned on me. Every single week I’d come to work and listen about every single damn thing I did wrong. All the drugs, all the booze, it all just swirled around me. I was a hurricane of sadness. I left the WWE and went back to TNA, where things were alright, even though I still didn’t have that inner peace.
Then, on March 13th, 2011, everything went to hell.
Footage plays of Hardy at Victory Road 2011, clearly high as a kite.
I felt nervous, and I figured I’d have some pills to calm myself. That was…
Hardy laughs.
That was obviously a bad idea.
I got pinned in 90 seconds flat by Sting. I was booed out of the arena and sent home. Since then I’ve fought the stigma of being that druggie who wrestles, or that guy who jumps off things a lot.
Footage plays of Hardy’s weird antics.
Everyone looks from the outside and tells me how weird I am, and how I shouldn’t be alive right now. And that’s true. But every time someone tells me that, it hurts me. Because I know that it’s on me to make it right.
Hardy looks up into the camera.
And make it right I will.
Let me tell you something. I’ve been in critical condition more times than I can count. I’ve done things that would kill most people. I’ve been to the top of that mountain, and I’ve been at the bottom of the barrel.
A good man named Dusty Rhodes used to talk about Hard Times. Hard Times are something I’m very familiar with. Hard Times are watching your house burn to the ground, killing your dog and leaving you and your fiancee homeless. Hard Times are risking life and limb for your entire adult life just because it makes you feel alive. Hard Times are being an outcast in the industry you love because of your own stupid decisions. Those are Hard Times, man.
And to Samuel Shaw. You’re a heck of a wrestler. But I need this. I need it so bad. I need it like a junkie needs his fix, something I know a little something about. But ever since I got clean, my mind has been on that title, man. I’m a goddamn hurricane tonight, Shaw. I don’t care if I’m up against Andre the Giant in that ring, I will run through you and take the title. It’s the only thing I want in this life. It’s all I want. If I can’t have that title, I don’t want anything. I promise to you, Shaw, that I am going to fight harder in that ring than I ever have in my 20 years in this business. I’m not as fast as I used to be, not as reckless as I used to be, but I’ve got one thing going for me, man. Heart. And I promise you that I will show more heart out there tonight than you have seen from any man you have encountered before. This match means everything to me. And I hope it does to you too.
In closing, let me just say this.
I’m doing this for everyone who thinks there’s no hope for them. I’m doing this for every man, woman, and child who’s chasing a dream that they’ve been told they can’t have. I’m doing this for the rejects, the outlaws, the failures, the people who were always told “you can’t do it”. This is for all the teachers who told me I’d wind up homeless, all the doctors who told me I’d be dead by 40, and all the ex-girlfriends who told me wrestling wasn’t gonna work out. This is redemption, man.
Hardy stands up.
My name is Jeff Hardy, and I’ve been sober for a year.
My name is Jeff Hardy, and I will not let any negativity stop me from reaching my goals.
My name is Jeff Hardy, and I am doing this for every person who has been told that they can’t.
My name is Jeff Hardy, and tonight, I’m going to win the WWE Championship.
Hardy walks to Gorilla as we fade to the ring.

The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and is for the WWE Heavyweight Championship!SHHHHHHHHHH................Dead FlowersIntroducing first, from Jacksonville Beach, California, weighing in at 230 pounds, Samuel Shaw! For all his...we'll say mental imbalances, Shaw has proven to be one of the most deadly competitors to debut in WWE in recent times.I think that can be taken literally, Michael. What he's done both in and out of the ring are things that no sane individual does!No More WordsAnd his opponent, from Cameron, North Carolina, weighing in at 215 pounds, Jeff Hardy!Jeff Hardy's redemption tour has led him to this point. Can he seal the deal and win the WWE Heavyweight Championship? He has the mental edge after winning Friday's tag team match, but you underestimate Samuel Shaw at your own peril!WWE Heavyweight Championship Samuel Shaw vs. Jeff Hardy 15 Minutes (5:25)

Hardy and Shaw lock up, with Hardy surprisingly getting the edge. He looks for a DDT, but Samuel spins out! He rakes the eyes, then plants Hardy with an STO, dropping him right on his neck! Cover from Shaw.
1!
Hardy kicks out.
Shaw's technical superiority coming into play here. It's early, but moves like that tend to set the pace.
Samuel looks to keep the tactical edge, locking in a chinlock. Jeff slowly starts to rise to his feet, and he shoots him off the ropes. Hip toss on the rebound, and a twisting leg drop! Cover by Hardy!
1!
Shaw kicks out.
Hardy using his speed advantage now. Tiring Shaw out may work to his favor, but Shaw is the younger man in this contest.
Hardy goes for a wheel kick on the rising Shaw, but Samuel dodges it! He drops an elbow on Hardy to keep him grounded, and starts choking him on the bottom rope!
Samuel not pulling any punches tonight! He may wind up strangling Jeff Hardy!
The referee reaches the count of four, and Shaw breaks the hold. He pulls Jeff in and covers!
1! 2!
Hardy kicks out!
You notice Shaw working the throat? That sets up for the Helping Hand and cuts off Hardy's air flow.
Samuel lifts Hardy to his feet and presses him against the turnbuckle, forearm across the throat. The referee counts him off, and Shaw breaks the count by slinging Jeff into the opposite corner. He follows, but he gets caught with the Whisper in the Wind! Hardy covers!
1! 2!
Shaw kicks out!
Shaw is going to be in deep trouble if he can't change the momentum here.
Hardy climbs the turnbuckle and waits for Shaw to rise, looking for a seated senton. However, Shaw knocks Hardy off balance! Samuel climbs up and hooks Hardy, superplex!
And both men are down after that one! The title is there for the taking, but someone needs to get back to their feet and take advantage of this!
Shaw is back up first, and he tries to lock Hardy in the judo choke. However, Jeff manages to counter it into a sitout jawbreaker!
This is Jeff's opportunity!
Hardy slowly climbs the turnbuckle and steadies himself. He leaps, Swanton Bomb connects!
And that's going to do it!
Hardy covers!
1! 2! 3!
Here is your winner, and the NEW WWE Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Hardy!
And Hardy's road to redemption has reached it's destination! Jeff Hardy is the WWE Heavyweight Champion! Not without a game showing by Shaw. Much as I dislike to say it, this certainly isn't the last of Samuel Shaw in title contention.
Hardy celebrates with the title as we fade backstage.

What's that metronome I hear? Perhaps the end is drawing near, You never hear the shot that takes you down...
OUT OF TIME! SO SAY GOODBYE!Broken DreamsDrew comes out onto the stage in street clothes, holding a microphone. Drew alluded three nights ago that he had found a partner to challenge The Authority with, and that he'd reveal that man's identity at SummerSlam. So what? No matter who it is, if he thinks he can take down The Authority, he's crazy.McIntyre enters the ring. Well, it's nice to be back here, Brooklyn. I can guarantee that tonight is going to go better than three nights ago, but that's neither here nor there. Let me cut directly to the chase. Three nights ago I told you all that I had found a man who's willing to stand at my side and take The Authority down with me!
So the night I made my proposition to the locker room, one week before Triple H made his, I came back to find almost nothing in response. I mean, I expected at least a few people! So I was packing my things, when this man comes up to me. He tells me he has unfinished business with Triple H, with Seth Rollins, with The Authority as a whole! He told me that he couldn't think of anything, short of winning that NWA World Heavyweight Championship, that he'd rather do than take them down once and for all.
I won't keep you all in suspense any longer. Ladies and gentlemen...
DEAN AMBROSE!RetaliationWhy am I not surprised? Of course this lunatic would team up with someone as crazy as he is!I think you're selling Dean Ambrose rather short, Michael.Ambrose comes onto the stage, also holding a mic. Was there really ever a doubt? I couldn't resist the opportunity to stick it to Seth Rollins and the Authority one more time!
After I lost my chance to challenge for the NWA World title, I'll admit, I was feeling a bit down. I had done it again, I had failed in a big match situation and what should have been my spot was taken by Kevin Owens. Now, I have no doubt Owens is going to come out here later tonight and win the title for WWE and I'll certainly be gunning for him when the time comes but what does Dean Ambrose do in the meantime? Easy, I help take out the people who have been making my life a living hell!
I'm not alone, Triple H and his goons in The Authority have hand-picked the people that they think should be on top and decided to screw everyone else who has fought just as hard to make it to this point. Take my pal Drew over here for example. At one point in time Drew McIntyre was the chosen one, he was going to be the next big thing in this business but it didn't work out. Despite having the backing of Vince McMahon himself Drew never made it to the top, you wanna know why? Because the fans hadn't bought into him. The Authority wants to ignore what you folks in attendance actually want in favor of who they think deserves to be on top and they've been doing it for far too long.
Frankly, I'm surprised that Drew and I are the only ones to take this stand but it doesn't matter to me. See, they don't call me the Lunatic Fringe for nothing. The Authority can send everyone they want after me but I'm not going to rest until I've ended them permanently and unlike last time, there isn't going to be anybody left to bring you guys back! You see, this is what I'm talking about. If nobody else in the back is going to stand up for themselves, then we'll be their voice. We'll be the ones to send The Authority to their knees once and for all! And even though they may not be directly aligned with us, I wager that we have a few kindred spirits in Daniel Bryan and his friends. So I'd like to say to Daniel, best of luck against Sheamus tonight, and if you ever need some support against Hunter and his goons, you know where to find us!
But now onto business. Dean and I are not going to be cowed by Triple H's scare tactics. We will not cower before Sheamus! We won't run and hide from Seth Rollins, although I'm sure he'd run from us! The more The Authority tries to stop us, the more we'll push back, and we won't rest until they're finished!
Because we are The Revolution. And we will end Hunter's power trip for good!Drew drops his mic and exits the ring with Dean following behind. All it takes to start something is one man willing to stand up. Drew's found a partner, and if what he said is any indication, he'll die before surrendering to The Authority.Well he and Ambrose have picked the wrong hill to die on. Triple H is going to do everything in his power to end these two once and for all!Drew plays to the crowd with Dean on the stage as we fade to the back. Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time... Daniel Bryan.Hey Kyle, how's it going?Going pretty well. Oh... you meant the other Kyle didn't you?O'Reilly chuckles as Bryan smirks. Very funny. But yeah seriously, Kyle Edwards, how are you?Doing pretty well! I have to say you look ready for your upcoming match against Sheamus tonight. Tell me, how does it feel going into this bout against a man who you've been contending with throughout your career?Everybody knows the story at this point, Kyle, so I won't reiterate anything. To put it simply we both had different career paths, and the results speak for themselves. Now Sheamus thinks that aligning himself with The Authority is somehow going to make him a big star. It's going to make him the face of the company.
Honestly I've ever understood that. Why would you want to get ahead by latching onto somebody who the fans despise? Does he only care about success for himself? I mean that's kind of a crummy attitude to have. See Kyle: we're performers... we're professional wrestlers. We go out there night after night and put our bodies on the line to entertain those fans as well as to see whose the better man between us.
And those fans... honestly if Sheamus wants to become a big star all he has to do is just be himself. Just embrace them. Let them elevate his career by putting on great performance after performance and winning matches! Don't take short cuts like cozying up to the boss! Because let me tell you that Triple H is a fickle man. The second you stop being of use to him he's gonna drop you like a bad habit. Just look at Randy Orton; Batista; Road Dogg; Billy Gunn; XPac; Chyna. Even Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair! What about Rick Rude?Nah, that was an amicable split. But the point is Triple H will never be satisfied. If you don't deliver then he'll get rid of you just like that. Or if he thinks you're upstaging him for that matter. The guy has the most fragile ego in the world, truth be told! That's why he surrounds himself with yes men and people who kiss his ass. He can't stand criticism.
And now he thinks that his big Celtic buddy is going to help him triumph over me again.
Well you know what I have to say to that, Hunter?
NO!
NO!
NO!Bryan grows more serious. You've been interfering with my career for far too long. And I have no doubt you're the one whose held up O'Reilly from getting a contract, just to spite me for my association with him. Luckily Brie is part of Total Divas so you can't really get rid of her, but what's to say that you won't eventually find a reason to play havoc with her career too?
Tonight Hunter, I'm going to prove to you that I am just as good as I've always been, if not even better. I spent months waiting for the day when I could step back into this ring and be one of the best wrestlers in the world! And now that time has come.
Seth Rollins couldn't beat me. A concussion couldn't beat me. A broken freaking neck couldn't beat me! And Sheamus, you aren't going to to do any better. Because once I slap on the Yes Lock and make you tap out, I'll show you that it's not the size of a man, but the skill that matters.
So Kyle... do you think I'm going to win tonight?Well...Other Kyle.Well as you might say...
YES!
YES!
YES!Bryan grins and joins in as the crowd does so in the background. YES!
YES!
YES!Bryan and Kyle go bouncing off screen, still pointing their fingers and chanting away as a bemused Kyle Edwards watches on. Eventually the shot fades.

@friendlylittlehelper: DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU"VE JUST DONE JEFFERY? DO YOU PEOPLE UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU"VE DONE?!
@friendlylittlehelper: Humanity weeps for us, and it won't be long before we drown.
@friendlylittlehelper: On RAW, we're going to play a game. And in this game, there is no time for help. But there is plenty of time for HELL.

The following contest is scheduled for one fall!HellfireIntroducing first, representing The Authority, from Dublin, Ireland, weighing in at 265 pounds, Sheamus!Sheamus looked impressive against Sin Cara last Friday, but Triple H implied that this is Sheamus' only chance to prove himself to Hunter. And you're saying he'll waste that opportunity? You're delusional!Yes! Yes! Yes!And his opponent, accompanied by Kyle O'Reilly and Brie Bella, from Aberdeen, Washington, weighing in at 210 pounds, Daniel Bryan!Bryan's bitten off more than he can chew this time! He's coming back from that concussion against one of the most vicious brawlers in the WWE!If you think that's going to stop a man who wrestled with a burst eardrum and a detached retina, then I think you're the delusional one, Michael!Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus (HINT: Does Daniel Bryan win? YES! YES! YES!) 5 Minutes (5:40)

Bryan yanks out the little braided segments of beard Sheamus has been growing.

Sheamus and Bryan lock up, with Bryan gaining a quick advantage. He goes behind Sheamus and drops him with a neckbreaker! Cover.
1!
Sheamus kicks out.
Undeterred, Bryan lifts Sheamus up and hits a snap suplex, before covering again.
1!
Sheamus kicks out again!
One of the most annoying things about Bryan is that he won't let up. Sheamus is experiencing that first hand.
Daniel pulls Sheamus up and throws a few kicks to soften Sheamus up. He tries for another one, but the Irishman catches his leg!
Uh-oh...
Sheamus maneuvers Bryan to where he wants him, belly to belly into the turnbuckle! Cover by Sheamus!
1! 2!
Bryan kicks out!
Sheamus starting to assert his dominance here. He keeps this up, and he'll have the match well in hand.
Sheamus hoists Bryan to his feet, but Daniel knocks his legs out from under him and starts laying in with the roundhouse kicks! Bryan backs up and looks for the kick to the head, but Sheamus ducks underneath it and rolls him up!
1!
Bryan kicks out, rolls through, big kick to the temple!
What a sequence that was!
Bryan covers!
1! 2!
Sheamus kicks out!
That could be the opening Bryan needs, but he needs to act quick if he wants to capitalize. Good luck with that.
Bryan looks to stay on the offensive, grabbing the arms for Cattle Mutilation, but Sheamus fights to his feet. He scoops Bryan up, White Noise!
Right on top of the head! That can't help Bryan's concussion issues. But it's excellent planning by the Celtic Warrior!
Sheamus covers!
1! 2!
Bryan kicks out!
Bryan hanging on by the skin of his teeth there. This one's almost over!
Sheamus lifts Bryan up and tries for the Irish Curse, but Daniel breaks out and transitions into the Yes Lock!
Yes Lock is in! Sheamus has nowhere to go! Will he tap? Come on Sheamus, hold on!
Sheamus desperately tries to drag himself towards the ropes, but Bryan won't let him budge. After a long while, Sheamus taps out!
Here is your winner, Daniel Bryan!
No way! How did Sheamus lose? He took his eye off the ball for a moment, and the best technician in the WWE capitalized! What a win for Bryan!
O'Reilly and Brie enter the ring and celebrate with Daniel as we go backstage.
Kevin Owens is standing near the entrance ramp backstage.
Tonight is the night. SummerSlam, all eyes on me and all eyes on Okada, and the NWA world title.
Without any doubt the biggest match of my career and the moment I've waited my whole life for. The entire world watching with me fighting for the World's championship and the opportunity to be called the best in the world. But there's one very significant obstacle in my way a man who many people call the best wrestler in the world, The Rainmaker Kazuchika Okada. And I'll admit there are some legitimate reasons why people feel that way, 3 time IWGP World champion, many 5 star matches the list goes on. I've seen you do many, incredible things but tonight you stand no chance against me.
Because tonight is my night tonight is my time when I show all the naysayers they were wrong about me, those who dismissed me because I "Didn't look like a wrestler" those who said I was destined to wrestle in front of 200 people for the rest of my life, that they were wrong. And they're going to eat their heart out as they see me standing over you Okada with the World's Heavyweight title high over my head.
As good as you are Okada, you don't stand a chance against a man with a purpose, and tonight I fight to give my family the life that they deserve. Tonight I leave and I get the champions salary, and I go home to my wife and kids, and for the first time I go home to them as the world's champion, being on top of my profession, and finally being able to provide for them the best life I probably could ever hope to.
Because you see Okada, I've always had this vision in my head about tonight, ever since I was added to the tournament. My wife and kids all sitting around the TV watching the main event of SummerSlam, and then their eyes light up as I take my opponent high into the air and damn near drive them through the canvas with my pop up powerbomb and they hear the referee count 1-2-3! And they watch with smiles on their face as daddy holds up the NWA World title as Summerslam goes off the air.
And tonight that little vision in my head, becomes the reality of the situation tonight when I leave the arena, I'm doing so as World Heavyweight champion, and if you want to stop me Okada you're going to have to kill me.
Because Okada you know I'm very willing to do the same to you, if it means my family can have a better life.
See you out there, Rainmaker.
Owens walks off as we fade out.
We cut to Kazuchika Okada, not wearing the IWGP Championship for once, sitting in front of the camera.
Success.
It means everything. It IS everything. The Rainmaker is DEFINED by success and what it means, and to be anything less than an utter success is a failure of what I am. So tonight, with the greatest prize a man could ask for before me? Success isn't just a possibility. It is the ONLY outcome.
Kevin Owens fights for his family, he says. His family will have to live with the knowledge that their father is second-best, an also-ran. He can do spectacular things, true. But he has the same flaw that the first man I fought to claim this title did: he's not a superstar. He doesn't have what it takes to represent the entire wrestling industry as THEIR champion. On the other hand...I'm the PERFECT choice.
Look at me. I'm handsome, I'm rich, I'm athletic, I'm exactly what the NWA needs, what WCW needs...hell, WWE, you need me too, even though you can't have me. I am a paragon. Men want to be me, women want to be with me, and everyone wants what the Rainmaker has. But, I hear you speaking...what does this have to do with a match?
Everything. I am prepared for success, from birth and from training. I have traveled the world and forged myself into a star, testing myself against the best there is. I have refined my skills to a sharpened point, and I will drive that point into the heart of Kevin Owens' hopes to claim the NWA Championship.
Okada chuckles quietly, looking at his hands with a suddenly pensive look on his face.
I would go to hell and back to be the best...and if I lose now, this reputation I have worked so hard to build, this glory that I have fought and bled to win, it becomes tarnished. The Rain stops falling, quiet as the patter of dew on a leaf in spring. Are you going to be that man, Kevin? Are you going to try to freeze me solid?
He pauses again, looking up as a slow grin spreads across his face.
I don't think you can. I don't think you can shut down my fire with all your Canadian cold. The sun is rising over the world again, and the New Era is dawning with it. Its Ace merely needs to be coronated, and the NWA World Heavyweight Championship is my crown. Get ready to bow down to the king...
And watch me ascend.
Okada stands up, slipping on a pair of sunglasses, and walks off wearing his trademark grin.
(Read these promos folks. The main event is in FIVE MINUTES.)
