Anyways moving on from fantasy fights we'll never see...
Mostly because it's Dana White
A lot of these arguments I'm reading on the side of "well people get hurt" well, yeah accidents happen and bumps take their toll, no one is arguing against that. However, a lot of these arguments come off reading (were I an outsider) that fans actually think wrestling is REAL.
All over twitter and even here if I wasn't entrenched in IWC culture to know what you mean by it, I swear I would think wrestling fans believe the shit is a straight shoot just based off of this. Like, reading dude's twitter responses he's getting... this is exactly why wrestling fans have such a bad rap to outsiders.
This is really the only time I'm ever gonna post in this thread, or any "MMA Guy says Wrestling is Fake" thread that doesn't involve Joe Rogan, so I'm gonna make it count.
For starters, Cornfed, while I get your ire, when outsiders assume that you're either an inbred, dirt-poor hillbilly or a 35-year-old virgin who still lives in his mother's basement simply because you like wrestling, I can understand why people get irritated every time wrestling gets knocked around.
Another reason is the fact that the vast majority of us who are wrestling fans KNOW it's fake, yet people must wave this face in our faces every time we discuss it, like it's some sort of startling revelation. You don't see people going around telling fans of "Game of Thrones" or "Breaking Bad" or "House of Cards" that their show is fake, nor do you see that with movies. This is the only non-pornographic form of entertainment that gets routinely mocked as this subhuman form of entertainment that only morons or hicks will like, and granted, wrestling companies often write stuff and cater to things that only morons and hicks will lap up without complaint (something that's not really ever gonna change), but I still think it's really absurd that wrestling still gets denegrated while you got brainless "reality" TV shows and Seltzerberg movies.
As for the Ronda Rousey Vs. Men argument, I could care less, and think it's stupid, and I don't say that simply because I don't like Rousey.
