Also, I LOVE how he's saying this like he isn't scouring every 3rd string dojo in America to find an opponent CM Punk's guaranteed to beat.

I know a lot of people hate Dana and I understand the aversion to wrestling being called fake but I don't think he is really shitting on wrestling. He's not saying that the injuries aren't real or that wrestling is all show and no go, just responding to a troll bragging about only paying 9.99 for a show over whatever UFC is charging for Ronda's fight. To be fair, 9.99 for how many hours worth of content vs. what...50 bucks, to watch a foregone conclusion fight be over in 20 seconds? Sounds like that dude DID get a better deal. And I'm not even that high on the network. Not disagreeing. Hell that is the very reason I don't get fights, but maybe, just maybe wrestling and wrestling fans would come across better if we didn't let the worst of us represent all of us? Maybe not make trolls famous like this and certainly stop supporting them, no matter how troll the return comments are. I just have a hard time saying Dana is wrong when he built his empire on the back of pro wrestling, is the best wrestling promoter going and is attacked by trolls for it. Yeah, "don't feed the trolls" and what not how about not letting trolls represent us. [/rant]

The only thing more manufactured than pro wrestling is every single Rousey "mega-fight".

I've never understood why idiots say this about wrestling yet you never hear anyone say movies or TV shows are fake..as if anyone including wrestlers pretend it's anything other than entertainment like everything else. It's really mind boggling at this point why anyone thinks they are actually letting us in on breaking news There's a large segment of wrestling fans that think it's all real. You don't really have that with other fanbases.

A wrestler saying "Yeah well I got busted open" or "tore my bicep" or whatever is silly because for the most part you only get injured when things go wrong. Bret Hart always prides himself on never having hurt anybody. If you get injured on a movie set it doesn't make it "real".
Like the the classic ad used to say: "The hazards are real". It is fake but it's also extremely dangerous at the same time.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}He's right though. No. Martial arts movies are fake. Superhero movies are fake. Action movies are fake. Pro wrestling? Predetermined, not fake. A live stage show is predetermined, the ending is planned in advance. What they're doing is real. No stuntmen involved with pro wrestling. John Cena doesnt sub out so a lookalike can take 16 suplexes.

CM Punk: Brawled his way up from the boxcars, did he? Dana White: Uh, no, not yet. He still lives at the train yard. But he's a hungry young fighter. In fact, he's actually fightin' for a sandwich.

Not a "sitting in the hospital bed" hurt, but you absolutely feel it. Those dude are not fake.

Those are afterall just nice ways of saying it. Sure it's physical, no-one is denying that, but it's two guys pretending to fight, (mostly) hitting moves safely and, as Pushed to the Moon above said, it only goes wrong when there's carelessness. It's sure as hell not real, and that's fine. I like it that way.

Not a "sitting in the hospital bed" hurt, but you absolutely feel it. Those dude are not fake. Yeah I'm not saying I could handle it either haha. But supposing everything does go right, you're not TRYING to hurt each other and you're actually actively trying NOT to hurt the other guy. The craziness of wrestling is that you're hurting yourself for the sake of a "fake" fight and trying to make it LOOK real. "Fake" might be a strong word though and I can see why wrestlers get offended since they're basically crippling themselves in the long term.

Punk himself is fine with it being called fake, and I don't believe for a second that that's Dana speaking through him or whatever.
