Let's be honest, Miz TV is usually fairly boring. Tonight it was not so. Not only was this the best Miz TV, but in my opinion it was the best segment of the night. Cesaro looks like a million bucks right now, Owens is a deplorable heel. They both made Miz their bitch. I applaud.

It helps that Miz is playing the exact Hollywood attention mongering douchebag persona he should have had a long while ago.

I like Miz in the "playing both sides, shit stirrer in the middle" role as opposed to just siding with the heel, to me it makes him an even more detestable and unique character. Having him be the guy that heats up others feuds is pretty much the perfect use of the guy at this point, especially since more often than not I find his own storylines and matches underwhelming.
Cesaro's still got a long way to go on the mic, but tonight seemed like one of his better outings and probably the most comfortable he's been. Owens was tremendous as always.

Miz was really great at being a slimy, weaselly, antagonistic butthole.
Owens was great at being a sarcastic , punk jerk. But Cesaro still needs work. I have no clue how much was scripted and how much wasn't but Cesaro looked a little uncomfortable in this spot.
It was a great segment though.

Miz can be good at this kind of thing, he was used well here and it furthered everything nicely.

I wanted Miz to get punched in the face so badly. Every time I see him, I just think of Howard the duck.

Man, the turnaround for Cesaro compared to 9-10 months ago is just incredible. We had a thread here where people were begging WWE to release him just to put him out of his misery because he had fallen so far down the card after his rise to the fringe of the main event in early 2014... Now, he's just about back at that peak overness and TV time.
I mean, yeah, it's a shame that the opportunity only came about because of Kidd's injury leaving him with no tag partner, but damn if he isn't making the most of it.

I thought it was a good segment.
2 things- 1 Cesaro was SO much more comfortable on the mic, but still missed a few moments- Owens' "Ive done more in 3 months than you in 3 years"- he has an instant rebuff- US Title, Tag Titles, Andre the Giant Trophy. What Owens said is blatantly untrue and that's the kind of thing he needs to pounce on to really hold his own on the mic.
2- Owens cuts a good promo, but....and this is the problem I've had from day one.....he also has one of THE worst promo habits in the business- namely running down your opponent in a way that doesn't help matters. In the Michael Cole interview he went on about how Cesaro can't connect and doesn't have the It Factor, tonight he said he's done more in 3 months than Cesaro in 3 years- which like I said, Cesaro didn't handle well- but it comes off as putting down not just Cesaro, but the titles he's won. Plus saying Miz can't fight. He's a multi-champion and former WWE Champion who won a Mania Main Event. Sure, he in kayfabe may have been lucky, may be an egotistical weaselly heel but to say he outright can't fight, does not help anybody. It's the old thing of if you call your opponent a nobody, it won't sell tickets. You win, congrats you beat a nobody. You lose, you lost to a nobody what does that say about you? And for me it's Owens' biggest weakness, and another thing still makes a little part of me think "Indy" when I see him.

It's a bad habit, but it's also something a good number of fans love to hear these days. It's not good business to bury the rest of the roster and the WWE's slate of titles, but unfortunately it seems like it always pops a crowd.

It's not good business to bury the rest of the roster and the WWE's slate of titles, but unfortunately it seems like it always pops a crowd. Unfortunately kind of true. It's one thing to do the "You're jealous that as hard working as you are, I'm better than you and have more natural talent"- that's a bread-and-butter heel line that sells a feud. The "run down someone with no way of them responding other than 'nuh uh'" style of promo seems to forget that the job of a promo is often to sell a match or feud or PPV. It's why Heyman is a phenomenal promo even when he barely says anything, because he knows how to sell the product. Owens' style of promo always seems to boil down to the "look at me rather than this guy" style of self-promotion, which you see all the time on the indies because the guys are basically fighting to get booked over each other in real life. Again Cesaro didn't seize the chance to tear a hole in Owens' argument when he could have, but that's the point- this kind of promo is a very aggressively competitive promo, it's not working with your partner or making them look good in any way. These are 2 of the fundamentals of improv, and promos are essentially improv acting. If you make your co performer look bad on stage, sure YOU might look better by comparison, but the product as a whole suffers.

Cesaro really needs a manager to do his talking for him.

I loved it, two of my favorites in the WWE right now. I also loved the Cesaro Section signs.

"Running your opponent down" promos have been done by a lot of top guys though. Just depends. Rock verbally destroyed every opponent he was against. Austin did the same to Bret Hart in 96 and a lot of others. Flair, Hogan etc.
It's nothing new. Guess it just depends on how it's done. I found nothing wrong with it. Owens is a bitter, jealous kind of guy. Seems like something he would say. He wants attention and focus on his accomplishments.

The face on Miz before they told him to shut up was priceless. Great segment.
