Without question a true legend but the guy was so biplolar with promos he'd either completely nail it and connect with us or he would have everyone going "Ok WTF was that about?"

One of the strangest was one where he was rambling on about something in WCW, then suddenly goes "K-Y? No! Y2K!"

The one he gave with Dr D where they talked about tying people like Rocky Johnson up to trees and whipping them, as is apparently customary to do in the south

His rambling, early TNA promo, where he accused Russo of killing Owen Hart was pretty cringe worthy.

For me:
Best: Tied with Halloween Havoc 96 and WMVIII. Worst: That incredibly awkward promo with Russo in the early days of TNA tied with that Raw promo at MSG in 2009 with Vince.

I remember the time he was talking to AJ Lee in the ring and it was terrible.

That....NWA?....Promo where he straight up bottles himself is kind of terrifying yet amazing at the same time. You watch it and are cringing like "Jesus dude, you don't have to do that to yourself for an interview spot", but at the same time can't help but be drawn in by his passion and intensity.
He was erratic, but when he was on point, Piper was one of the most believable and captivating promos I've ever seen, and I say this as someone who's only seen a tiny fragment of his work.

I laughed at a lot of the stuff he did with Savage in WCW. "What is your major malfunction? What's the matter did your mom and Dad build the swing-set facing the wall?"
I think my top favorite was the one against Hogan at Havoc. I think it was one of the best back and forth promos between two guys that I've seen.
Piper on the weekly TNA PPV was just odd and never went anywhere. I remember them shooting some wrestling in a studio thing that was "going against Russo." Something on channel 32" in who knows where and I was like ok? TNA trying to relive the coconut thing with him and Snuka only for them to shake hands and what not.

For me: Best: Tied with Halloween Havoc 96 and WMVIII. Worst: That incredibly awkward promo with Russo in the early days of TNA tied with that Raw promo at MSG in 2009 with Vince. Him reeling off all his rivals and following up with "Proof that if ya mess with the Hot Rod, you're either gonna be bald or dead," along with "I love 'em all, mostly the dead ones... not so much the bald ones," capped off with him blurting out "I'M THE REASON HULK HOGAN'S GOT NO HAIR!" made that 2009 one amazing for me. So much so that I still have it committed to memory almost 6 years later. Miss ya, Roddy.

"Well, you know, what we're dealing with is one of the original Village People here. With his mate Jimmy Hart who keeps kissing the belt, leaving all that lipstick on it. I heard The Mountie saying: 'First thing I'm going to do... First thing I'm gonna do is, I'm gonna take Piper's integrity!'. It's like Jacques Cousteau trying to find a dry spot in the ocean. I AIN'T GOT NO DAMN INTEGRITY! How d'ya think I got so far? 'Second thing I'm gonna do, I'm gonna take Roddy Piper's manhood!' Huh?... HUH?! I come here to fight, I don't know what you come here to do! I come here to win two titles! I can't do that 'til I win the first one! I think YOU'VE been dreaming! I think it's been all wet, too."

I'd love to find out exactly what WCW TV shows Piper did these promos people are talking about as I did not follow WCW and these sound interesting. It's kind of cool he had somewhat of a comeback in Turner Land considering he looked way past his prime in WWE in 94/96.
