Just said he was hanging the boots up on Twitter. Twitter.com/WWEMoonchild
Real shame... I loved his heel work on NXT (and his music!), and it's also a shame he was only a JTT(NxT)S.
I thought he requested his release to go better himself on the indy's, and was going to make a triumphant return to NXT at some point. And he's still pretty dang young... Wonder what happened?
Hope the dirty hippy enjoys retirement.

Dude had a future as an annoying guy in the midcard. Good for him for getting out if his heart wasn't in it though.

Well damn. I really grew to love his stuff. I know he did a world tour of sorts, sold everything but his computer, clothes and gear before hitting the road. Guess he wanted one last thrill before moving on.

Translation: I didn't catch on the way I wanted to on the indies, and WWE won't want me back. Bye. Good for him for going out on his terms, though.

Looking at the wording one more time, I wonder if he isn't retiring the hippie/WWE stuff to try something new.

(I know he's not WWE any more, but he's not really been anywhere major since, and I figure more people would see it here.)
Damn shame. He was a solid talent, and seemed well liked by everyone. I remember before one of the NXT "PPV"'s, Rollins tweeted about all the indy folks, and threw Parker in with 'em, which really said a lot in my eyes.
Unfortunate he never went beyond JTTS really, I hoped he'd go abroad for seasoning and maybe return to WWE one day.
So in remembrance, his great entrance music:

I bet the boots he is hanging up is made out of 100% recycled material, that filthy dirty disgusting hippie.

Damn. He was great at CZW Best of the Best earlier this year. Like, better than most other guys on the show.

Damn, and he said he was really excited about touring the Indy's and making an impact there like so many others. I listened to him on a Podcast and he really seemed excited about the venture... I hope it didn't backfire so badly he wants to retire, the dude is still really young
Unless he's just going through a gimmick change and that's what he means by "Moonchild CJP" retiring...

Dude was all pumped about going to the indies, wonder what happened out on the road that pushed him to this? He hasn't even been gone from NXT the whole summer.

I thought he did a very nice job at Best of Best this year. I went into that show not liking his work and came out impressed. I expected to see him pop up in other bigger indies after that. Shame...

Well of course she's retiring she's getting a little to old to be a lifeguard anymore.

Yeah, I just realized that my first post here might have come off slightly more like I hated the guy than I intended. He was always a fun cat to watch on NXT. Wish he'd been able to find better. That said, he also comes off like a guy who didn't plan to do the "wrestling" thing for a lifetime, so if he's retiring now, good for him.
