This is ridiculous. Ric Drasin promotes that he trains students as young as 10 and advertises this as the benefits: www.ricdrasin.com/page5Shool requires 60 min of athletic activity per week and the schools don't provide it. * Learning 'mic' skills with us helps them with public speaking in class room * Learning moves and high spots in the ring increases memory retention for studies * Getting along with others under stress in the ring, helps social skills with family and friends. * Increases self esteem *Able to address larger audiences, makes your child unwavering like an umbrella base. * Becoming a professional adult. leaing how to project and speak on job interviews These are just a few of the benefits. Bad News Brawlers www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bxZETVs63TIThis promo is hilariously noteworthy www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NR5dYvR0ElMI should have dropped out of 5th grade and done this

Not the first time something like this has cropped up. Bischoff had some sort of stake in a kids-comprised wrestling promotion called MatRats or the like. At least one other promotion I can remember being all kids and run like an actual business. Then there's all those brats showing up on Japanese cards, they've got to be getting training somewhere.

They should also warn them about the long term damage to their bodies, and that there's a chance that they could get hooked on pain killers.

The MatRats concept was at least high school age and up. Guys like Jack Evans and Teddy Hart during their teenage years. It's just plain dangerous to put the well being of 10 year old kids in the hands of other 10 year old kids. I mean, possibly the most vital part of doing pro wrestling is taking care of your opponent so that they don't actually get injured in the process of doing a match with you. Definitely not something a 10 year old should be responsible for. It's very different from something like youth football, where the participants are covered in pads and helmets.

Hmmm, the idea of combining some aspects of pro-wrestling (Talking and performance) with amateur wrestling (Useful athletic skills) for younger kids is not exactly a bad idea. I know that's not what this is offering, but I think a melding of the two would be a decent idea that would help students academically and athletically if done properly.
I don't like the idea of putting kids in a wrestling ring and teaching them how to choreograph lucha-libre moves. It sounds like a touch too dangerous--especially for 10 year olds...
But teaching them how to speak in front of an audience while learning the basics of amateur wrestling with fun costumes and characters? A potentially good idea.

Just get 'em walking bow legged to the ring, then you can say it's Dwarf Wrestling

I actually purchased a book about promoting pro wrestling written by this dude. He honestly believes he invented the bald head/goatee look, and claims to be a former multi-time World Champ because he held the belt in the indy fed he owns.

It could be worse.
Just look at TJ Perkins. According to Excalibur, he's been wrestling for 20 years, despite the fact that he's only 17 years old.
I mean, talk about irresponsible parenting.
