(Not counting 1988 when the White Sox threatened to move to Tampa.)
The thing keeping 2013 from being a complete disaster for the White Sox was beating the Royals on the last Saturday, thus keeping them safe from being the 4th Sox team in franchise history (first since 1970) to lose at least 100 games.

Newcastle Uniteds relegation season in 08/09 and last year where we had that 11 game losing streak and only survived on the last day of the season

The 2012 Boston Red Sox were the only team I've ever actively rooted against. Until the Los Angeles Dodgers stepped in and traded for Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, and Fat Josh Beckett, essentially rebooting the franchise, there's never been a more detestable, unlikable group of baseball players.
It all started the previous September, when the 2011 team collapsed down the stretch and seemingly no one gave a f*** about it. Then, instead of dealing away the problem children in the off-season, the Red Sox maintained the status quo, booted Theo Epstein out the door, then overruled his replacement Ben Cherington in hiring Bobby Valentine as manager. The 2012 season was a disaster that anyone with half a brain could see coming from a mile away.
Instead of making amends for the hideous conclusion to the 2011 season and coming out red hot to start 2012, they played pedestrian baseball for much of April and May. The nadir came in May when Fat Josh Beckett famously was scratched from a start due to a lat injury but still found time to get in a round of golf. In his next start against the Indians, he was shelled, left in the third inning to a chorus of boos at Fenway Park, then castigated anyone who had the gall to question his focus in his infamous "My off day is my off day" press conference.
To this day, I don't think it's any coincidence that the purging of the 2012 roster led to a world championship in 2013. They replaced all the (literally) fat and happy superstars coasting on their multi-million dollar contracts with veterans with something to prove or young players ready to make a name for themselves. That's why no matter how bad things got in 2014 or this season, both of which are destined to be last-place finishes, it will never get as dire as it did in 2012.
True story: that summer, I moved from Massachusetts to Connecticut and since I had SNY on my cable package, I gave serious consideration to becoming a Mets fan. That's how dire things got in 2012, that I was willing to leave behind years of being a Red Sox fan...to become a METS fan. That was the closest I've ever come to outright giving up on the franchise.

Chicago Bears from 2007 to now. So much frustration, and mediocrity. At least with the Cubs being bad from 2010 to 2014, there was a light at the end of the tunnel because they were being rebuilt from the ground up, and I understood Theo Epstein's plan.
The Bears are so mediocre, it has almost destroyed my love for the sport of Football itself. It's that soul crushing. The worst part is, they aren't even as bad as some teams. They are, in what I call, NFL hell. Not ever good enough to make the playoffs, but not bad enough to be at the bottom.

1-19 start.
Isiah Thomas quits.
Darrell Walker quits.
Damon Stoudamire demands out.
Ship is sinking and fast.

2007 Suns
Those Western Conference Semi Finals had bullshit game after bullshit game.
That was the beginning of the end of my NBA fandom. I started watching less and less until the Thunder lost in the Finals and that's when I gave up altogether. One of the best decisions I ever made.

The last 10 years of Kings basketball have been so awful to the point it's just numb. Last year MAY have been the worst (for those who don't know the story) because the team had a hot start, looked good for the first time in years, but out superstar caught meningitis and that was the excuse that directly led to the owner firing his coach. The team instantly imploded.
There were some awful years for the 49ers pre-Harbaugh... Coach Dennis Erickson, Mike Nolan, Mike Singletary. All awful. QB's Tim Rattay, Cody Pickett, and a bunch of other no-names following Jeff Garcia. Picking Alex Smith as the number one overall pick over Aaron Rodgers (oops....) This season is also going to be a spectacular Trainwreck, but it will kind of be darkly enjoyable to see how the morons in charge (Owner Jed York and GM Trent Baalke) try to spin it.

St. Louis Rams from 2004 on. One season in this period we ended as a .500 team which was the 04 season. Twice went 2-14 and once 1-15. They gotten better but been a very slow process because for years lack of management. This year there is high hope and now becomes the question if we will see a good team in St. Louis. Yeah the rams may move but can't anywhere until one of these new stadiums is complete.

Rockets: Those several years where we had both Yao and T-Mac but one always got hurt and killed our chances. Its far worse to build up hope and be devastated by something like that than it is to go in knowing we arent great and having no expectations.

Since I'm a Redskins fan there are many to choose from, however I'm going to go with the 1993 season where they lost to the Jets in a 3-0 thriller where no bullshit the play of the game on Fox or CBS or whatever channel it was on was a trashbag blowing around the field.

Teams from Romania or Belarus would be CL quarterfinal material with that type of doe
