Somehow Blue Pants being the one in their corner was just too predictable-but it still worked to perfection. And I personally get the impression that at this stage she actually doesn't want to sign a full deal with NXT; she doesn't want to have to do the insane amount of travelling and promoting and likes keeping her options open. But would not be amazed if a full time contract is in her future. Sometimes predictable is good, that, and the main event results were all super predictable, and all delivered. Wasn't complaining. There is no other woman in NXT who's gimmick was going to gel so perfectly with the Vaudvillians as Blue Pants. Made total sense to do.

I love the Vaudevillains (though I'd love them even more if they put more 20s strongman and entertainment bits into their matches), and Blue Pants is great fun. So this is a perfect combo.
I really liked that Blue Pants did a bit of flapper dancing and curtsying, to play along with the Vaudevillains gimmick. Hopefully they'll be a full time trio, now. She definitely deserves the gig, and the crowds love her.
As for Enzo & Cass? I honestly don't think their gimmick would work as well as it does if they were champions. Enzo as the delusional little guy who thinks he's tough shouldn't ever actually be on top of the pile. It would make him less sympathetic.

Could be a sign Enzo and Cass are getting the call soon. If that's the case they could still have won them here and dropped them at the next tapings. It just feels like a cop out that one of the most over acts (not just tag team) on the show isn't getting what the crowd really wants coming to them. This would have been the perfect time to do the switch. It really makes no sense. Perhaps they already intend for Enzo-Cass to win the Dusty Rhodes Memorial? Because if that's the case, it wouldn't make sense to have them win the titles and then do that.

It's amazing to me that at one time Aiden English was my favorite NXT jobber. Now, he's a Tag Team Champion.

When she shows up, it's really something special, especially since we don't see her very often.

And I just get the impression that wrestling isn't her chief ambition; she enjoys it but it isn't want she wants to do forever.

I like the Vaudvillains to a point. But I just can't wrap my head around the fact they didn't put Enzo and Big Cass in this spot. I get the feeling they're moving to the main roster soon. They're in that Charlotte/Neville spot right now, where they've sort of become what they're going to become within the confines of NXT, so booking forgets about them a little bit as they're just waiting for a main roster gig to come up. They've always been so over, the NXT tag titles aren't a big deal for them, frankly. OR, maybe NXT decision-makers soured on them a bit? I remember a month or so go, Big Cass had this awful promo that even the announcers panned, and they've been booked a little bit weirdly sense, including not getting this pretty obvious spot. But, I'm trying not to read into that too much.

Should have been Enzo and Cass's spot. But I still enjoyed it. And Blue Pants. Cass was the omnipresent voice over who helped Team VV win in Brooklyn, probably part of Blue Pants' mega-overness in NYC as well.
