I'm thinking... - Sting beats Rollins. - Sheamus cashes in immediately. - Triple H embraces Sheamus as his new guy and kicks Seth to the curb, setting up Sting / Triple H for Survivor Series with the ultimate goal of Triple H / Rollins at Mania. Yep. I'm 100% fine with this idea

I really, really don't want to see Sting win the WWE title and have Sheamus cash in right away. If Sting to Sheamus is the plan, Sting needs to hold the title for 2-3 months, and have at least one real title defense. Maybe that MSG show in October, that'd be pretty great.
We really need a reprieve from heel champ Authority wins dominance, even if it's just a short one before the Mania stuff gets started.

I think Sting kind of deserves a quick "thanks" run with the title. I think it's also worth noting that barring maybe ONE show at the Theater at MSG, I don't think Sting has ever wrestled there. Lesnar and Sting defending the WWE Title (where you could do the cash-in for more value) would be a huge draw for the Network, I think.

Why does he deserve a 'thank you' run? What has he done for WWE to deserve thanks besides jobbing to the Ultimate Cerebral Ass Hunter? It's not like the guy didn't get any recognition during his career, he won like a dozen world titles.

Besides just being a legendary figure who's spent practically his whole career putting up with other people's bullshit, first in WCW then in TNA, he's never really been able to be honored as best he could be due to never being in WWE before but despite that, he's spent these past few years keeping on going and genuinely trying to help make TNA something better, then when he did finally decide to stpe away from that and come to WWE for real he got himself into phenomenal shape and began putting in plenty of publicity appearances for them and stuff, with the only real reward thus far being a nice paycheck on the way to a loss. He doesn't necessarily need a thank-you run (though he does need a big win, given he to date doesn't have a single one in WWE and that's going to start hurting him sooner rather than later if he loses again), but it'd be a nice, harmless gesture so long as Rollins is portrayed as a worthless loser who's probably turning face soon anyway and Sheamus is hanging around ready to take it the second Sting wins it. Also, I love how all someone with a 0% success rate and a bad relationship with the boss has to do to get a title shot is win one fist-fight with the champion then hold up the belt and bam, match is made.

A nice harmless gesture in which one of the best wrestlers in the world and one of the very few guys that the WWE have successfully 'made' in the past few years 'is portrayed as a worthless loser' while dropping the company's top title to a 56 year old man who has been past his prime for over a decade. Ahh... We'll just have to agree to disagree. I get that people love Sting and that's cool, I have a tonne of respect the guy, but I just don't understand how anyone could think this is a good idea.

For as much as "he's had to put up with other's bullshit", he still basically always got the best of Hogan and Ric Flair. The biggest angle in WCW history was revolved around him, as butchered as the ending was ultimately. And he's been paid handsomely for years while not really having to do all that much in TNA. I also cannot stress enough that he would be the only guy to ever win the WWE title over the age of 50 besides Vince's reign, which just served to fuel the feud between HHH and Stone Cold. He's 56 years old, his most famous angle is so old that people just born during it are now graduating high school and his character is basically the exact same to the one that was in WCW all those years ago. As much as I would have hated Batista winning the belt last year instead of Bryan, he was still only in his mid-40s, was going full time for a few months and was a co-lead in one of the biggest movies of 2014/about to get a role in a Bond movie. A Sting reign would enrage me ten fold.

Cena vs Rollins. Cena wins US title. Rollins vs. Sting. Sting wins WWE title, Sheamus cashes in. Stings gets his moment. So does Sheamus. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned since I didn't read all four pages but I'm pretty sure this would make Sting the only dude to win a World Title belt and lose it on the same show in both WCW and WWE! HISTORY!

I'll say this, he looked phenomenal in that brawl with Rollins. He was moving around like he was 30 again. However, he MUST get a haircut. I don't mind the thinning, he's older, it happens. What I do mind is that it's cut and combed like Ben Franklin. So if you're gonna win the belt, just get a normal haircut, Stinger. I'm beggin' ya.

This guy gets it Also, let's just ignore the guys waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more deserving and hardworking (from Reigns to Rusev to Owens to Cesaro to Ambrose to Wyatt........), why should they compete for the biggest title right? Again, this is Bischoff/Nash type WCW 1999 booking

Here's some news: Rollins is already portrayed as a worthless loser. Jobbing to Sting is nothing compared to jobbing to Health Slater and whoever else Rollins has lost to in the past year. Since he won the title he begged 3 other men to do a run in on his behalf (they did), retained the title on a cheap Dusty Finish, lucked out against Ambrose when the belt fell into his hands, got stomped by Lesnar for 10 minutes before Taker did a run in, and retained the title due to a run in by Jon Stewart of all people.
Is Sting old? Sure. But whatever value he has right now would be gone completely if he jobs clean to Rollins. If there's some idea to do him vs. Taker at WM next year, why would anyone take Sting seriously if he never wins a WWE match? The idea of Sting getting the title at Night of Champions and defending in a rematch at the MSG show sounds good. There they can do the Sheamus cash in deal. I'm thinking Cena will relieve Sheamus of the belt around the time of the Rumble.

Pretty sure Angle's presently the only one to hold all four, right? Though Angle's also held the World title. Angle never held the NWA. TNA was stripped of the NWA Titles shortly before the PPV where Kurt won the title. Have Sting beat Rollins for WWE World Heavyweight title (Seth can keep the U.S. as a token). Then bring back Ezekial Jackson for a one-off and let Sting beat him for the long-dormant ECW title. He he will have held the NWA, WCW, TNA, WWE and ECW major titles. And when they have the big celebration for this accomplishment, the entire arena can turn on him.

As far as being the guy to end Rollins' run, that'd be somewhat unfortunate. However, there's a possible story there for Cena trying to tie Flair's record, by beating Sting. And that opportunity will never come about again. Flair can turn on sting one last time

I really don't understand why anybody would be okay with Sting ending Rollins' reign.
