Honestly Hardcore Diaries is the only book of Foley's I've read. Didn't do much to make me want to read the others.

Anyone read Russo's book? How WCW killed Russo, or called something like that, where it was basically him saying the company killed him and he's not to blame for anything and he's basically a saviour of wrestling?
Better than this book. Easily Foley's worst.

Honestly Hardcore Diaries is the only book of Foley's I've read. Didn't do much to make me want to read the others. Foley has admitted that if he knew what was gonna happen at the end of Hardcore Diaries, having his angle with ECW basically being meaningless, he wouldn't have done it. Like he wishes he could take it all back. He regretted turning heel. f*** he gave it his best but Vince never cared about his feud with Dreamer and Funk, he claims that McMahon said that the match at One Night Stand was gonna be the "shits" that it was gonna suck, then after it turned out good, Vince didn't apologized to Mick for his comments. I highly recommend you to read his first book, "Have a nice day", it's awesome and in my opinion one of the best wrestling autobiographies of all time, it's certainly top three along with Jericho's first book and Bret Hart's. The second one wasn't that good in my opinion.

Yeah I didn't bother with Countdown To Lockdown after Hardcore Diaries, one particular memory of Hardcore Diaries was him talking about meeting Adam West at a convention, West was a dick to fans but ended up giving him a free autograph (I think West's manager had to point out who he was), I think the moral was be famous and you get treated better or something.

I read both Have a Nice Day and Foley is Good every 2-3 years and have since my Freshman year of high school. So f***ing good.

Honestly Hardcore Diaries is the only book of Foley's I've read. Didn't do much to make me want to read the others. Seriously, read Have a Nice Day for sure. It's required reading for a wrestling fan. Read Countdown to Lockdown when I was in a hotel in a strange city and couldn't spend every night in the bar all alone, so I read it in a night or so. It's fine. It's not a classic, I don't regret it, but since I haven't seen one second of his TNA stuff, it didn't resonate. Countdown to Lockdown does feature a little rating scale at the beginning of each chapter indicating how much that chapter has to do with wrestling, so it makes it easier to skip some of the stuff that, IMO, drags the book down.

I've been rereading Countdown to Lockdown off and on, it's not bad but not really that great. Only real highlight of it is that incredibly creepy Tori Amos chapter.
Have A Nice Day and Foley is Good are better, but Hardcore Diaries gets to be a slog after a while.

If I remember correctly Tori once met Mick and asked him for an autograph for her nephew, then she invited him to a show and introduced him to the audience as her friend. Then Mick appeared on another show kinda uninvited, if I'm mistaken feel free to correct me, and tried to hang out with Amos in my opinion overstaying his welcome, Tori was busy but she still made time for him.

From what I'm seeing online Mick actually got along with Amos, I think he started as a fan of her.

I got countdown to lockdown for $3. And it was worth that price. Much better than Hardcore diaries. Got that about a month after it came out on a clearance table for $2. After the 8th time Mick mentioned how hot he thought Melina was it got annoying.

Honestly Hardcore Diaries is the only book of Foley's I've read. Didn't do much to make me want to read the others. It is the worst of his four bios. Read the first two they are pretty good. His first it tied with me for best wrestler bio. Along with Jericho's first book and Hardcore Hollys book.

I really like the chapter on the Benoit double murder/suicide (I think it's titled "Wrestling's Darkest Day" or something like that) and the open letter to wrestlers chapter (which is basically an immediate follow up to the Benoit chapter).

It was alright. First two books were way better. But it is MUCH better than Hardcore Diaries, which was so aggressively unpleasant to read it actually stopped me being a fan of Mick's for two years. Yeah I loved his first 2 books but Hardcore Diaries was the first, and still only, wrestling book I just had to stop reading half-way through. Probably didn't help that I hadn't been watching around the time period the book is based and was left kind of confused when he delved in to his admiration and friendship with Melina. I didn't hold it against him though, Im looking forward to seeing him live in a couple months. As far as the thread topic someone mentioned WWE promoting it and TNA not, what was up with that? I mean I get TNA not doing it because they're idiots but what did WWE have to gain, random nice guy WWE act of kindness? Seems odd.

I've read it. It's definitely nowhere near as good as Have a Nice Day or Foley is Good, but it's still a solid book. Everyone should read his two chapters about Benoit and steroid use, though.

Are we the same person? I hated the Mick in that book. Grouchy, and egotistical. Mick the Terry Funk biting a chunk out of Vince's ass wasn't that good of an idea.
