I'd say Kevin Thorn, but losing Ariel started the downturn. I'd be depressed too, if she dumped me for some no name somewhere...

Scott Anton when he got "the CLAP". Not really, he wasn't a big deal before that either. I mean American Males and Flock member who lost all the time isn't much of a fall. He bounced back but when Dustin "burned" and ditched the Goldust gimmick to be plan Dustin in a T-shirt and jeans was a fail. Yeah he started to get some momentum with the EATME gimmick and feud with Val, but that just led to them trying Goldust again.

X-Pac from black/green/white DX combinations (the orange instead of green version wasn't bad either and the original black/red /white from his return I liked too) to his X--Factor era gear:

Granted it was just a streak of red in his hair, but it killed his career. Terry Taylor from this: to this:

I never got used to Shawn Michaels' looser pants. I always liked his gear before his hiatus. Of course that wasn't why he went downhill. I am sure the two are correlated though (hiding braces and loss of mass etc). When did Shawn go downhill? His second career was bigger than his first.

I never got used to the looser pants look and whenever I think of HBK I think of his first run. I know he did a lot and had many great matches in his second run, but he never felt quite the same to me. Perhaps my original post better fits in the Iconic Looks thread that was recently created in WWE Current.

Oh, yeah, forgot about The Headshrinkers. They gained boots, and then became jobbers.

Perhaps my original post better fits in the Iconic Looks thread that was recently created in WWE Current. In his first run he was booked as the be all and end all with sending him home happy taking priority over sending the crowd home happy, while in his second he was a legend who was actually capable of taking a clean loss so didn't seem as important, and being portrayed as Triple H's BFF didn't help.

Kane in a suit. He went from ok midcard guy deserving better, to what is known here as a local man.

I suppose this is more of a change in wrestling attire because of the wrestler going downhill, but Rey Mysterio adding a shirt to his attire stood out, especially when he wasn't even matching it to the rest of his attire.

I intended the discussion to be about changing a look...attire, body, rather than changing gimmick.

Matt Hardy's tights in 2009. Wasn't the same after his face turn in the same year. I actually liked Matt with the tights IMO it made him look more serious and not just an afterthought. What screwed him was getting drafted to Raw, the injury and then coming back for a face turn.

I actually thought the black tights were fine. It's the purple tights that are what everyone remembers when they remember him looking awful in long tights: That being said, the baggy shit he wore after the tights period through when he left the WWE was way worse IMO. Pretty much the epitome of "completely stopped giving a shit" Matt Hardy.

When Zack Ryder had curtains and started wearing shitty Indy tights.
It was at that point, Ryder stopped giving a shit. And so did everyone else.
