I like the idea, I just don't like her. I just find her grating and obnoxious (voice, personality, looks). I give her props for training and I admit I'm catching up on the past couple of months od NXT so I haven't seen her work yet. I hear she's still so so. The thing is, there are plenty of guys who've trained and been in the business for a while, arnt very good and they get flambasted by fans. Why should Eva be different?
I used to dislike the Bellas too, but they grew on me and I like them now, accept their talent, and respect them. So maybe Eva could grow on me, but for now, just because she's trying doesn't mean she deserves my interest.

Here's the problem with Eva Marie: for months people were hyping her up because she was training with Kendrick. Because of these GIFs and Instagram videos she was showing off of some of the highlights of her training. Because they wanted to believe that somehow she had turned things around completely. And hey, I wanted to believe it too. In all honesty, she is alot better. Really, compared to when she first showed up, it's like night and day. But the problem is that after all that hype, she's still... not really that great. She's... passable. Yet NXT and WWE are pushing as if she's suddenly transformed into this amazing wrestler. Even though in all honesty she's not. And the people who thought otherwise are upset, because they fell for the hype, and when it didn't deliver they turned on her. I think Eva Marie will probably get alot better, but right now she's still not there. And this idea that she should be the next face of the women's division when pretty much every other woman on the NXT Roster right now would be a better choice is not helping matters one bit. Eva is fine. She's good enough by Divas standards. She certainly shouldn't be champion, but she does have a place on the Divas roster. Not everyone can be as good as the NXT women. If everyone is awesome, then no one is. Eva was f***ing horrendous this week. Carmella is better in the ring than here and she's still pretty mediocre. The only good thing that Eva Marie did in her match was trash talking Carmella but the crowd and commentators couldn't even hear it. Both women are green as hell but even Carmella knows how to make her strikes look like they actually hurt.

Actually it's the fact that WWE keeps putting her on TV when she sucks as a wrestler.
Go away, get better, then bring her back.
Don't put her on TV w/zero ability. Don't put her on NXT with "less than Mojo Rawley" levels of wrestling ability. Let her train, let her work house shows even, heck make her a valet for someone on TV, then AFTER she learns how to wrestler, then put her in a televised match.

To me it's like, I can forgive poor in-ring skills if someone has a good character, and I can forgive poor character if someone has good in-ring skills. Eva has neither, so I'm just not into her and don't wanna watch her do anything, but I'm not saying she's a lost cause. She could still get there.

Eva can train all she wants, it still doesn't mean people have to accept her taking up TV time and getting a push. She's not TV-ready; I don't mean that as an insult to the girl but it's a simple fact. She does not belong on a televised wrestling program at this point in time. Let her keep training so she can get to that point, but until that point, keep her the hell off of television, because her matches are embarrassingly bad. While I agree she doesn't need a push against Bayley at this point in time, based on her match against KC Cassidy(?), I don't think she's that much below Carmella,Alexa, or Dana's ability in the ring. I think she is "tv ready" enough for NXT. I respectfully disagree there. NXT is only an hour long a week. The time she takes up could go to any number of other acts. That's what house shows and other untelevized events are for. Let her wrestle and work with others who are training. Then, when she can put on a good match and/or emote some sort of personality or charisma, put her on TV.

Right now she's the female equivalent of Bo Dallas' run during his NXT title reign. She's the heel who's oblivious to the fact the crowd hates her. If they feel she has to wrestle, it's probably the best way to use her.

She'd get to train in the ring without having to become a wrestler so soon AND Breeze could help her with her acting/character work. The fact that a user on a wrestling forum thought of this before they did is a little sad and confusing.

I swear we get an "Eva Marie Hate" Thread every week here anymore... whether it's a hate thread or a "Stop hating her she doesn't suck and wants to get better" Thread.
I don't even care anymore. Her matches will speak for themselves. Agreed. They have so far...

You have a young lady who was hired solely to be part of a reality show. She gets thrown into the deep end with a minimum of training and isn't very good. Despite barely being on tv and barely having actual matches, she decides to get proper training on her own time (even though she doesn't have to since she was only signed for this reality show). Eva Marie: I suck and want to get better so I can actually add something to the product. ^Somehow in twisted wrestling fan logic this is a reason to crap all over her. I wonder if anyone is going to use that bs "We aren't booing Eva Marie, we're booing WWE" excuse. I am booing her because I think that she sucks. That's the only reason why. She sticks out like a sore thumb. Her and Carmelia are the only two female wrestlers that I dislike on the roster. Look, I'm sure that she will get better over time. I just think that the idea of her vs Bayley is a "oh hell no!" type of thing, no matter if it's now or a few months from now. Eva needs a LOT of experience that she could have gotten elsewhere. No fault of hers because she wasn't originally hired to be a wrestler.

That was a fair point for when she was on Summerslam, but on NXT? She's absolutely ready for that. It's developmental. I think the problem with the "It's developmental" argument is that after a series of LOADED Takeover specials, HHH has really started pushing the "You made this a movement, You made this a REVOLUTION!" stuff, which raises fan expectations of just what sort of Brand that NXT is. If Hunter wants to push it as a Movement, a fresher, more motivated, more focused alternative to the Main Roster shows, fans aren't really going to have as much tolerance for someone as Spinach-Green as Eva ironing out her bugs on TV every week as the would if it was just pure developmental and not what it's basically become, which is more of a "finishing school" for higher-profile talent to get used to WWE. If they want Eva to be seen on something outside of Total Divas, have a show on the network that specifically follows new Performance Center trainees (Alexander Wolfe, the Indian Guys, Gionna Daddio, That Yeti guy from Tough Enough, etc.) that WWE isn't putting on TV yet. Maybe that way the fans get somewhat of a sense of who these people are and how they're training, and are familiar with them when they're considered ready to be on NXT TV.

Well, now, hold on. At the end of the day, she's on TV. When you are on TV, you get (rightfully) graded on a totally different standard than someone just training to do wrestling. In classic internet fashion, a select few are trying to do the most with it (and you can figure out who they are real quick if you're like me and actually keep track of who's who on here and keep a mental track record of the stuff people post and how they carry themselves on a daily basis) but the vast majority of people that criticize Eva are pretty fair, IMO. Potential is one thing but we also need to comment on the present so we actually have something to compare her to as she keeps wrestling.
People talking shit about you on the internet is something you have to deal with if you are gonna be a WWE star now. Some of it's totally valid, some of it's not. You can either whine and blame the fans for it or you can just do your thing, get better at your craft, and try to prove those folks wrong. You're not gonna make everyone happy but sometimes, criticism can be the best thing in the world for you. It keeps you humble and grounded. If nothing else, Eva seems to have the right attitude about it unlike folks like Paige who turned her trigger fingers into twitter fingers when fans started turning on her matches (albeit, for reasons somewhat out of her control).

Why is it that it's generally accepted to say that Tamina and Naomi suck in the ring, but the minute Eva Marie gets brought up, it's suddenly this travesty that must be avenged? Because Tamina and Naomi are way more experienced and got enough time and patience to evolve and become at least mediocre workers...but

My main criticism of her re-debut match was that the kicky Aussie had to practically put her own arm in a submission because Eva grabbed it with so little purpose.
So it was interesting that in her Takeover match Carmella fended off Eva's weak attempt at a submission until she at least attempted to do it properly.
