All of those no-name vanilla midget spot-monkey indy darlings that you IWC basement dwelling virgns love might be great at the local high school gyms but they won't make it in the big leagues! -------
Do you remember when the internet was awash with that type of comment from the anti-IWC corners of the IWC 5-10 or so years back? It was hilarious at the time that people held such odd opinions back then despite such former indy-wrestlers like Steve Austin, Mick Foley, HHH, Chris Jericho etc all making it big, but it seems even more laughable now given the success of CM Punk. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan and that the hottest new stars like Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Neville, Hideo Itami, Finn Balor, Becky Lynch, Bayley, Kalisto, Apollo Crews and much more are all former "indy-darlings" who are all over.
Damn I wish I could go back to the past and find those trolls who were looking down on ROH, PWG, Shimmer etc and tell them how wrong they are.

I'm not sure "how wrong they are".
People didn't migrate down towards the indies, instead those (so-called) indy darlings had to come up to WWE.
The Machine hasn't been toppled. The Man hasn't had it stuck to.

I'm proud to say that I was one of the people who were wrong. Well, I was wrong about Tyler Black. I thought he was a great wrestler, but I thought he would be known as the poor mans CM Punk. I did think he would come to the WWE, but I thought he would have been in a jobber tag team or never pass FCW. Although, I hate his title run and want it over as soon as possible, Seth Rollins is a great wrestler and became a much bigger star than I thought he would be. I am proud of him for proving me wrong.
Most wrestlers start their careers in the indys and they become known because of their indy work. Therefore, it would be stupid for the WWE not to sign indy stars. They already know how to wrestle, they already have a decent fan base and already have friends in the WWE.

But let's call this a new golden age for sports entertainment. Except of course that both of them were indie wrestlers before being signed, with the Godfather having wrestled in Japan for a spell too Much like all the other indie stars that made it big during the WWE's biggest eras. Oh and yes, I suppose it is the NXT guys to blame for the loss of ratings despite Cena, HHH and Orton being the ones on top for the last decade. Damn they should hire body builders instead.

Now I want to see "Too Sexy" Sami Zayn. Bayley, "The Godmother". She pimps out "Too Sexy" Sami Zayn and "Beefcake" Bull Dempsey to get free victories over divas. Book it right now Bayley: Now, Tamina, you look like you could use a better outlet to release your pent up anger. So, instead of fighting me, how about you take ride on the BBBBRRRROOOOOO-TRAIN!? Tamina: I'll take them both.

The Man hasn't had it stuck to. No promotion is ever going to come close to the WWE. But the WWE looked down towards the indies and said "those are the guys who will be the stars of tomorrow" which they were wrong about as they all believed that the WWE should carry on hiring hosses and Diva search girls.

People chanted "Future Jobber" at Seth Rollins in his last RoH show. Bit awkward now.

More people watched Crash Holly as hardcore champion than have ever watched John Cena as WWE champion.

Also Crash Holly is another former indie wrestler by the way... Exactly. More people watched wrestling then. Crash or the Godfather or Too Cool were not better wrestlers than everyone wrestling on Raw today and thus getting better ratings. No disrespect to those individuals, but wrestling was just bigger than. You could've put anyone in their matches that was at least competent and they would've gotten comparable ratings because the show was overall much more popular. It's apples and oranges.

There should be a forum filter that replaces the term "indy darling" with "experienced wrestler"
It's one of the dumbest things to demonize that I've ever seen.

There should be a forum filter that replaces the term "indy darling" with "experienced wrestler" It's one of the dumbest things to demonize that I've ever seen. Especially because there are plenty of people who've never watched an indy match in their lives, who would say that Daniel Bryan or Dean Ambrose or Seth Rollins are their favourite wrestlers. Personally, I've never watched anything but WWF/E, a tiny bit of WCW and some TNA when Christian was there (and also the wrestling on ITV's World of Sport, back in the 80s), but I like these supposed indy darlings just fine. They're good at what they do, which is all that should matter. I don't think that NXT needs to be saturated with them, of course. They should push the likes of Breeze, Jordan & Gable and other homegrown (or relatively homegrown) stars too. Also, this is wrong. It's quite clearly Elsa, even if she was a dastardly German spy.
