Seth Rollins. I had just typed a post about how it's Cena. But Seth Rollins, with the ladder match with Ambrose being the tipping point. He and Cena have absolutely carried the company on TV and PPV this year.
I want to vote Sasha, but the nature of NXT means we get less of her. I prefer that approach, and no one's had 3 better matches than her 3 Takeover matches, but Cena/Rollins have had a larger amount of high quality work. When voting for Wrestler of the Year, that comes into play quite a bit for me.

Has to be Sasha Banks. She's damn good in-ring and seems to be perpetually getting better, she's a pretty solid promo and has a ton of charisma, and she's been booked pretty much perfectly for her whole run (not counting the past month or so of main roster shenanigans).

Has to be Owens. Won the NXT title, pinned Cena clean, awesome worker, awesome talker.

It's between Sasha and Rollins, but it will be interesting to see how Sasha does on the road, and away from the Performance Center.

A case here can be made for a lot of guys and girls this year which is a good thing. In terms of who I enjoy watching in the ring I would give it to Seth. He's the man for a reason but a case can easily be made for Cena, Owens, Sasha, Lesnar etc and it would be hard to argue.

Sasha, then Rollins, pretty easy. However Rollins performed on a bigger scale so kudos to him, unfortunately Vince is more interested in a Honky Tonk reign than a serious superior mean champ
Cena, Owens and Ambrose are runner-ups

If we're going worldwide:
1. Sasha Banks - Has been on fire all year long. 2 MOTY candidates and I can't remember a bad match she's had.
2. Roderick Strong - Ever since he won the PWG title, he's gotten into a second wind and seems way more motivated.
3. Hiroshi Tanahashi - Even though some people weren't happy with him winning the G1, you can't argue with the amount of awesome matches he's had this year.
4. John Cena - Has had the best year of his career and the U.S. Open Challenge was the best part of Raw for a long time.
5. Finn Balor - Has had a banner year and is INSANELY over.

Wow Sasha even more overrated than I thought. ITT: Craziness. What's so crazy about it? Legitimately curious. Can you be wrestler of the year if you have 3 good matches? How about of the people actually doing something meaningful on the main roster instead of a flavour of the month newbie who's main job is to play second fiddle to Naomi. Sasha Banks is a pretty good wrestler which I guess is enough when theres only 6 decent wrestlers to compete with she looks amazing. She is a big fish in a small pond. People on here acting like she's a freakin Guererro just because shes in the top 3 on any given day in a pool of 6 and they have never seen a 15 minute women's match before. Meanwhile, here's a list of people who have had more than 3 good matches this year: Dean Ambrose Randy Orton Roman Reigns Stardust John Cena Cesaro Seth Rollins Brock Lesnar Kevin Owens Neville Dolph Ziggler And cases could be made for others including other women, dare I say even a *gasp* Bella or two.

Sasha's had way, way more than 3 "good" matches. She's had 5 standout matches, 2 of which are legit MOTYCs and 1 of which a lock for MOTY for me and many other people, and with one or two exceptions has yet to have a bad match this year. She's a better promo than about 4 or 5 people on that list, and unlike a lot of people on that list, she's been booked pretty much perfectly, looking strong as champion without ever obnoxiously steamrolling over the competition. Sasha, to me, has legitimately been the best wrestler this year, and this is coming from someone who didn't have much of an opinion about her this time last year.

Yeah lots of bandwagon jumpers around these days, I won't hold that against you. Sorry, FIVE matches, not three. HUGE difference. And sorry to say but she's not on NXT anymore, say goodbye to that perfect booking. She's being wasted on RAW, and her best matches are only MOTY contenders because they are being held to a 'girl' standard which is easy to exceed. Lots of people have never seen a 15 minute diva match and are super impressed. Right now she can only have a good match when paired up with fellow NXT divas that she's trained with for 2 years. She has the ability but she's flat out not a better wrestler than any of the people I listed. It takes more experience than what she has to do what they can do.
