Hawthorn are only the second team since 1957 to take three straight premierships, the other being the Brisbane Lions of 2001-2003.

17 players in the Hawthorn team today have played in all three of these Grand Final victories. That is remarkable stability over the course of the last three seasons.

Alastair Clarkson has never won the AFL Coaches Association Coach Of The Year.
He is now a four time Premiership coach.. The most for any Hawthorn coach. Allan Jeans and David Parkin have also won four but those were not all Hawthorn wins .
I know I'm being biased here, but I firmly believe Clarkson is best working coach in the World at the moment.

If Brisbane win tomorrow, I'd have to argue that point with Wayne Bennett. This would be eight grand final wins from eight attempts.

Useless Fact: This may be the first AFL season where one team played more games then any other team (Hawthorn) and one team that played fewer games then any other team (Geelong)
Although tragic circumstances led to Geelong playing one less game then all other teams on the bottom part of the ladder.
