From You Can't Do that on TV to Pete and Pete to Doug to Stick Stickly to Are You Afraid of the Dark to Salute your Shorts to Clarissia Explains it all this thread is to remember when the network was good. Not this crap that is on it now... I wish they would make a network where they would show old stuff.

Agreed. They have Nicktoons Network, but the old stuff is mostly Rocko and Angry Beavers-type newer old stuff.
I'd totally watch SYS if it was on now.

I loved Rocko's Modern Life. And the Angry Beavers. They were both my favorite thing on that channel.
I enjoyed Double Dare and What Would You Do? As well, and Clarissa sometimes (I thought she was hot), Salute Your Shorts was a really great show too. There's more, I just can't remember it right now.

Yeah, I was a Blue's Clues mark for some reason, speaking of mid 90's Nick Jr.
It was just fun to watch, even though I was in like..5th-6th grade during it's heyday.

They do but it's not on basic cable. Other cool stuff they played: Inspector Gadget, Count Duckula, Danger Mouse, Nick Arcade, Hey Dude!, Ren and Stimpy, Invader Zim, and others.
Damn Yeah! Just found out the name of the Japanese fairy tale classics I always wanted to see again... Appropriately called "Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics, these were Japanse takes on fairy tales, with awesome animation and just cool concepts. The two I remember most vividly were "The Six Who Went On Their Way", about a band of heroes in the Middle Ages who all had special powers and skills, including a strongman, an expert hunter, a guy who would lower temperature by taking off his hat, and a guy how could blow wind from his nose, who went around righting wrongs.
The other one was called "Dancing Slippers" and was about a group of young maidens who slept walked at night to dance with three handsome princes. Every night, they would pass through a forest of gold, a forest of silver, and a forest of jewels (or something to that effect) in order to dance with their princes. They acted as if under a spell and would never remember what happened in the morning, the only evidence being their tattered slippers. One night, a guard followed them, only to see that they danced with hideous monsters. Breaking the dancing up, they ran back to the castle, passing through the enchanted forests, only to see the gold, silver, and jewels, turned into snakes, spiders, and bats. Just freaking cool.
Has anyone else seen these tales? I'm not doing them justice in the least, forgetting details and such, but they were great stuff. Gorgeous animation and storytelling of a mode that I wasn't yet exposed to as a child when I watched them.

I marked for the old school Nick gameshows. You had Double Dare, GUTS (and later Global GUTS), Nick Arcade, Legend of the Hidden Temple, ect. I loved those shows.
In addition, Welcome Freshmen was one of my all time favorite shows! Along with Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, Clarissa, Are You Afraid of the Dark(come on, I know I wasnt the only one to start my own version of the Midnight Society!), All That, Doug, You Can't Do That on Television, and so on.
I remember how much I loved each summer when Stick Stickly would appear to host that Nick Afternoon Summer deal everyday, with the contests and everything. Great, great times. Now its just a f***in "tween" network with a bunch of 6th grade kids and Little Romeo acting like fags.

It's just that... we were tweens.

It's just that... we were tweens. It always seemed to me that a majority of their shows featured high school age people. Maybe it just seemed that way to me since I was 7 or 8. But I was under the impression that most of the non-Nick Toon shows featured high school type teens. Maybe Im wrong though, im not sure.

Old school nic ruled, now i cant stand it the shows now are awful.
I used to love on OSN:
- Are you afraid of the dark (tales from the crypt light) - Tales from the cryptkeeper - Sister Sister (pre college, college episodes sucked) - Pete & Pete - Rocko's modern life - Catdog - Rugrats (pre Dil) - Pee wee's playhouse - Kablam (mostly for Action league NOW!)
Old School Nic was the bomb, but like MTV it's the pits now

I loved Nik back in the old days everything was great, they had Clarrisa Explains it All, The Secret World of Alex Mack, Pete & Pete, Hey Dude, and Salute Your Shorts, plus they actually had more good cartoons then bad ones (Nicktoons sucks now since they got rid of AHHHH Real Monsters), and all the game shows for kids like Nick Arcade, Finders Keepers, and Double Dare (glad they still show these on Nick GAS), but at least we still have our memorys of the good ole days,
ohh yeah one more thing
